Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: An Nan Kicks Over Huo Bingxuan

Upon realizing that even her usually doting brother wasn't speaking up for her, she instantly lost all rationality. She broke free from her brother's restraint, ran to An Nan, and raised her hand for a fierce slap.

By the time the crowd reacted and wanted to stop her, it was already too late.

The banquet hall suddenly fell into silence, only Xi Shaoqi's angry roar echoed in the air: "Huo Bingxuan, stop right there!"

Xi Shaoqi was closest to An Nan, yet he couldn't match Huo Bingxuan's speed as she swung her hand.

He could only glare angrily at the hand aimed at An Nan, wishing to cut it off immediately.

Some women who couldn't bear to watch covered their eyes, unwilling to see the predicted tragic scene.

Lin Mubai was farther from An Nan, but at that moment, his eyes sharply crossed the raised hand, his heart filled with anger. If the slap landed, he would definitely cripple that hand. It didn't matter if she was the eldest daughter of the Huo Family; if she dared to lay a hand on his woman, she'd have to be prepared to face all consequences.

Just as everyone watched in terror at the person about to be hit, the latter continued to smile, calmly meeting Huo Bingxuan's gaze as she swung her hand forth. To everyone's astonishment, she smoothly sidestepped, allowing the slap to brush past her face. Then, with a perfect back kick, she fiercely knocked the attacker to the ground. After kicking, she swiftly retracted her leg, ignoring the shocked expressions, and stood over the groaning Huo Bingxuan, coldly saying, "Miss Huo, I know you hate me deeply right now, but I, An Nan, am not the type to just stand there and be hit without fighting back. You're welcome to get a lawyer to sue me, but everyone saw it was you who struck first. I merely defended myself."

After all, what is the Huo Family's eldest daughter to An Nan?

Her indifferent tone, neither loud nor soft, was nevertheless perfectly audible to everyone in the banquet hall.

After recovering quickly, Huo Boxuan walked over with a gloomy face to his sister's side, carefully helped her up, and cradled her. Seeing his only sister's tear-streaked face and the pain-induced paleness, his eyes, filled with shadow, glared at An Nan, who remained calm, and warned her word by word: "Just you wait, I'll definitely get a lawyer, and you'll wait to go to jail."

Upon hearing this, Xi Shaoqi immediately objected, ready to retort, but An Nan tugged at his sleeve, signaling him to hold back. Then, her gaze, full of coldness, met Huo Boxuan's resentful eyes. Her voice transitioned from indifferent to icily cold, curving her lips into a nonchalant smile. The crowd watched her lips slightly move, and her clear voice slowly came: "Mr. Huo, do you know why your sister is so spoiled? It's because she has a brother like you who shields her without distinguishing right from wrong."

Not allowing him to angrily refute, she continued speaking coldly: "Mr. Huo, if you want to sue me, by all means, go ahead. I'll wait and see just how powerful the Huo Family really is." She then smiled slightly, her voice returning to its usual calmness, "I happen to know quite a few people in the media. I wouldn't mind informing them of the real story from today, letting the public know just how arrogant and domineering the Huo Family's eldest daughter truly is." She emphasized the last four words forcefully.
