Summer Sutton was held in his embrace, her body stiff.
"I just remembered, I haven't prepared for tomorrow's lessons yet. How about you take a shower first!" Slipping out from his grasp, she dashed to the sofa and picked up a book, pretending to be absorbed in it.
Every now and then, her gaze drifted towards Adrian Walyon, trying to gauge his reaction.
Adrian didn't enter the bathroom; he was watching her too.
Their eyes met, and Summer was momentarily stunned. Trying to act as if nothing happened, she continued to glance down at her book, but Adrian's distinctively cool voice suddenly sounded, "Your book is upside down."
Summer was dumbfounded, looking at the book in her hand, feeling somewhat at a loss with embarrassment.
"I was just, just looking for a bookmark, to see if it's in this book." She was quite good at making excuses for herself, shaking the book to explain with calm composure.
"You were staring at the same page for quite a while!" Adrian exposed her lie.
