Chapter 47 - System (1)

Floating in her bathtub, surrounded by steam and silence, Rie's crimson eyes narrowed as she stared at the translucent window suspended in the air above her.

The interface pulsed faintly—an ethereal presence hanging just out of reach. In the upper corner, a new symbol had appeared. Sleek, elegant, almost delicate. A softly flickering "info" icon.

"...What's this?" she muttered, arching a brow.

Curious, she extended her hand and tapped it lightly with her finger.

Her hand passed right through.

"…"

A pause.

She blinked once. Then tried again—this time with more pressure.

Still nothing.

With growing irritation, she tried everything she could think of: channelling her blood magic, infusing the symbol with corruption, even focusing her vampire aura into her fingertip. Nothing worked.

At one point, she headbutted it out of sheer spite.

Using her horn to touch the info icon.

It continued to glow, motionless and unbothered, like a smug spirit refusing to be exorcised.

"…Tch. How am I supposed to use this thing?"

She leaned back into the water, brows furrowed in thought.

It was dragon-related—she could feel the presence in the interface. And dragons, if memory served her right, were notoriously prideful, ancient beings that basked in worship and reverence.

…Did she need to appeal to it?

With reluctant scepticism, she began experimenting: forming ritualistic symbols with her fingers, clapping twice, chanting "O great System" with steadily rising desperation. She even blew on it, as if it were some ancient artifacts covered in dust.

Lastly, she whispered in a low voice, "...You are very majestic."

Nothing.

With a growl, she finally snapped, "This damn info—!"

Ding.

The interface shimmered instantly, light refracting like shattered crystal. Then it bloomed outward—expanding into a detailed, fully interactive window brimming with information.

"…"

She froze.

"That… actually worked?"

A long silence.

She stared at the window. Then stared at herself.

A sigh escaped her lips—low, drawn out, and dripping with disbelief.

"I feel like an idiot."

She sank lower into the water, cheeks puffed in embarrassment as the glowing screen hovered above her like it had done nothing wrong.

And yet, despite her frustration, her eyes were already scanning the contents that had unfolded—because if there was one thing more powerful than her pride, it was her hunger for power...

She stared blankly for several seconds. Then blinked. Then leaned in closer like someone trying to read the ingredients on a potion bottle with a magnifying glass.

"This- "

She cannot believe it…

➤ Dragon [LOCKED – Requires more dragon blood]

'Am I now a dragon…too'

Is it because she drinks the dragon blood….

Her hand was shaking in excitement…

She then notices her race.

"…"

'I guess it can't be helped'

It was no surprise that even this thing which called itself system cannot find a word to describe her race and called it unknown…

'Sigh…. Just what have I become…'

She shook her head, eyes moving to the next segment. Her gaze caught on her Titles.

'Okay, th... that sounds cool as fuck.'

A small, prideful smirk crept onto her face. If nothing else, she sounded like the main character of an edgy epic novel.

Then she found herself eyeing the Legacy section—only one was listed, sealed and fragile.

Ancient Dragon Legacy — 1% Fragment.

Her fingers tapped against the side of the tub.

"If only I could just find more dragon blood…"

Sadly, dragon blood was rare.

Very rare.

And from what she remembered of the future, there were maybe—maybe—two places she could get her hands on it.

Both highly dangerous.

Both probably death traps.

Sighing she shifter her attention to the system as she scrolled down…

"Hmm. This is something I know," she murmured, a little pleased.

These were the abilities she'd unlocked in her previous life when she awakened as a vampire.

They were simple and useful...

But what make her frown was that system know about her regression…

Her respect for the system increase…

So, this is the might of dragons…

Sighing she looks at the system once again, only for eye to pop out.

⤙ Unique Skill ⤚

[Sealed]

Condition: Consume more ancient dragon blood to awaken.

Although she was happy with getting the unique skill something she didn't have in her previous life one coming from a actual dragon...

Her eyes narrowed nonetheless...

Why? it was because of those same cursed words, glowing faintly under every sealed ability like a smug whisper...

Consume more dragon blood.

She groaned, throwing her arms up in the bathwater.

"Oh, for the fuck sake, where am I supposed to get dragon blood?! You think they sell it in bottles?!"

The interface didn't respond. Of course it didn't. Just floated there like an annoying ghost with a one-track mind.

"Consume more blood," she mimicked in a high-pitched voice matching the system with a mocking tone. "Why don't you go drink some, huh?"

If the system has a mouth he would say the same thing....

Her glare could've melted the screen if it wasn't made of magic.

Still… her eyes stayed fixed on the sealed line, just a little longer than she expected.
