Homeroom
Suzuki and Kiyomi sat down as lunch had just started when Miyamoto opened the door.
"Hey! Some first years are heading this way!"
They walked outside when they saw Hosen and Nanase walking towards them. Hosen smirked.
"Who's the chick?"
"Please wait a moment."
Nanase checked her phone.
"Ayanokoji Kiyomi. Class 2-B. B in academics."
She then pointed to Suzuki.
"Horikita Suzuki. Class 2-B. A in academic ability."
She then pointed to Sudo.
"Sudo Ken. Also Class 2-B. E+ in academic ability."
Hosen laughed.
"E+? You're just as retarded as you look!"
Sudo got pissed.
"You wanna say that again!?"
Nanase stopped Hosen from moving forward as Kiyomi's eyes inspected her movements.
"I am Nanasse Tsubasa. I'm from Class 1-D, and this is my classmate."
Hosen smirked.
"Hosen."
Suzuki looked at them.
'So it's them. They're the scheming uncooperative ones.'
"You guys might be Class B but academically you're at the bottom of the barrel right?"
Hosen said this with a confident smirk as Suzuki sighed.
'He's completely right but there's no point in thinking about that right now. They'll try to suck us dry of points so what's the method to stop that? They don't seem like the types to be friendly enough to agree to as favors instead. Ugh. Wait that girl... she seems nicr than him.'
"What my classmate is saying is that we have no need to assist you in this exam."
"So pay up or or drown I the Private Points."
Hosen smirked, raising his hand, and causing Suzuki to grit his teeth.
"I'm sure you're targeting us right? But if you don't find partners soon then you'll suffer from the penalty of your score as well as us."
"Huh? And so? Even if we score lower than 500 we'll only lose a few Private Points. You guys on the other hand."
Hosen slid his finger over his neck.
"You'll be dead in the water. If you don't pay up. Maybe we'll tank our scores on purpose?"
Sudo stepped up and shouted at him.
"Who the hell do you think you are? You'll get kicked out if you do that!"
"Hell you mean. You think the school's got any plans to enforce that?"
Suzuki sweated.
'He's right. They'd need direct admission or a tank so bad it was clearly a fake score or the school wouldn't be able to kick the student out reasonably.'
"Sudo. Stop. Don't let go of your composure."
"But Horikita I... !"
Sudo fell over as Hosen stood over him.
"What are you? Just some tall ass bitch?"
Suzuki stepped in between them.
"Don't you think that's enough?"
Hosen swung his leg as Suzuki crashed to the floor, Kiyomi having tackled him to the ground to stop him from getting hit.
"You're so fucking lame that your girl has to protect you. I feel sorry for her."
Hosen smirked, saying this as Suzuki got up and glared at him. Hosen reached out to Kiyomi, who was already in a defensive position, as Ishizaki walked over, shouting at Hosen.
"Hey! Being asshole has it's limits!"
"Don't do it Ishizaki. Unless you wanna die."
Ryuen cut in as he glared at Hosen.
"She's not yours to steal fucker."
Hosen smirked as Ishizaki looked at Ryuen.
"Wait Ryuen-San why can't I..."
Hosen's eyes widened.
"Ryuen huh? That's serious you? A scrawny ass bitch like you?"
"I heard of you. The legendary delinquent Hosen. I didn't think you'd have such an ugly face."
Hosen looked pissed.
"How about we take this outside then?"
"I ain't gonna do that."
Hosen then saw Ibuki.
"This bitch your underling? Seriously you even got girls doing the work for you?"
"I could say the same to you."
Ryuen pointed at Nanase.
"She ain't my underling."
Ryuen began walking away when Hosen grabbed Ibuki's neck, strangling her as Ryuen swung his leg at Hosen, who blocked it, dropping Ibuki. Kiyomi walked over, putting her hand on Ibuki's back.
"Are you alright?"
Ibuki coughed, gasping for breath.
"Just shut it. I'm fine."
Kiyomi helped her up as Ryuen put down his leg.
"Don't touch my underling you fucker."
Hosen smirked.
"A wise man keeps away from danger. Perhaps you've never heard the proverb?"
A first-year student walked up to the group.
"A friendly conversation is one thing. But it's not a good idea for you to cause more trouble here, Hosen-Kun. I think you should be the one to withdraw first."
Hosen glared at him, but he wasn't shaken.
"Do you disagree?"
"What are you doing here Hosen!?"
A voice rang out as a teacher walked through the crowd.
"Hosen. You shouldn't fight in the hallways!"
"This wasn't even a fight."
Hosen said this as he left. The teacher bowed to us.
"I'm Katsunori Shiba. Homeroom Teacher for Class 1-D. I'm sorry about my student."
Suzuki raised his hand.
"It's alright."
Shiba nodded and left as Nanase went with him. The first-year boy approached.
"I'm Yagami Takuya. It's nice to meet you."
Yagami extended his hand to the group, and Kiyomi was the first to shake it. Her eyes widened for a second before settling as if she had processed something within a split second.
"It's good to meet you. I'm Ayanokoji Kiyomi."
Yagami smiled.
"Well I should get back to my class. I'll see you Senpais later."
Kiyomi nodded as Yagami left.
'What was that? Does she know him?'
Suzuki sighed.
'Wait... is he... a childhood friend or something?'
Suzuki sweated.
'Wait no. He introduced himself to us all including Kiyomi so that's not possible so what is it?'

Outside
Kiyomi was walking around with Suzuki and Sudo when they came across some first-years on the bench. Suzuki stepped towards them.
"Hi. I'm Horikita Suzuki from Class 2-B. I was hoping one of you might be inclined to partner with my classmate Sudo here."
The first year smirked.
"500K points and we'll do it."
Suzuki just walked away without saying a word.
'500K points. Who the hell do they think they are asking for that many?'
Sudo sighed.
"I'm totally screwed now! All the first years want private points."
Kiyomi looked at him, confused, as if it shouldn't be as big a problem as he makes it seem.
"You could always just study so that 5% deduction isn't bad enough to get you expelled."
"But the first years could tank their scores!"
"They could but depending on their academic ability they won't be able to score below a certain threshold. Though I can't prove it but it would be reasonable to expect that the school would not pay mind to maybe 100 points lower than what is expected of a student's academic rating. I myself find that this statistic might be a bit generous but even if it's unrealistic it should be taken into account. So if it were correct and taking into account the 5% penalty, in the worst-case scenario you could be expelled regardless of your effort."
Kiyomi said this as Sudo grimaced.
"The reason is that an E-rated First year could feasibly get a 50- 100 and escape an expulsion while making sure you do get expelled but... that's only if you're paired up with an E-rated First-Year."
"Huh?"
"If you're paired with someone who's rated D the lowest score they could get is a 100. They obviously won't risk getting a 99 or something like that so they'll aim a bit higher. While I don't think there's much chance of you getting such high scores nothing is impossible with the right method and mindset so you could just barely pass in that case. And the higher the first year's rating the better chance you have. If we can't find you a partner it'll be up to your own effort, mindset and a bit of luck."
Sudo shook his head for a second, slapping his cheeks.
"I gotta do my best!"
Suzuki then grabbed his shoulder.
"I agree but regardless of whether we find someone, you should still study that hard. It's better to be safe than sorry."
Sudo nodded. He was clearly nervous, but with a path forward, his natural determination and grit were kicking in. As they walked around, a girl with purple pigtails smiled, looking at the group.
"Hehe. If you're looking for an excellent partner you're looking at her."
"Huh? How much do you want then?"
"I don't want Private Points. You see I like strong men."
Sudo looked surprised as Suzuki then spoke.
"I can confidently say that Sudo is one of the strongest men in our year."
Ichika pursed her lips.
"Oh really? Can you prove it? Maybe I'll believe him if he can beat up every guy in your year."
Suzuki and Sudo were taken aback as Suzuki calmed himself.
'Calm down. I should ask if there is another way.'
"But if Senpai isn't confident I also like Men who can cook."
'Did she just... read my mind?'
Suzuki shook his head.
'No that's absurd.'
"Um..."
Kiyomi then spoke up.
"Suzuki can do it."
"Eh..."
'What does she mean I can do it? I know I'm good at cooking, but..."
Ichika smiled mischievously.
"Oh? You look strong as well. Handsome too. I might fall in love with you Senpai."
"Eh!?"
'Oh shit! On no! I'm fucked!'
Kiyomi didn't react, though.
"You can handle cooking for her right Suzuki?"
"Aren't you mad?"
"Why?"
"She just said she might fall in love with me."
"Are you going to fall in love with her?"
"No!"
"Then as I thought I have nothing to worry about."
"Oh..."
'She trusts me that much?'
Suzuki flashbacks;
[Kushida walked up to him.
"Suzuki-Kun. Can you come to talk with me for a second?'
Suzuki nodded, following her.
"Why were you hanging out with Nishimiya-San?"
"Oh. I was just tutoring her."
"But I'm worried."
"Huh? Why?"
"I mean Nishimiya-San likes you."
"She does?"
"She does."
"Well, she's a shy girl. I don't think she'll confess or anything. Even if she did I would reject her."
"I still don't like it."
"What a pain."
"Huh? Suzuki-Kun I..."]
'Now that I think of it I was pretty insensitive back then.'
"Suzuki?"
"Oh yeah. I'll handle it."
Sudo sweated.
"Take this seriously okay? I don't wanna get expelled."
"I got this. My cooking is second only to Kiyomi."
"Wait... you've... tried her cooking?"
"..."
"..."
"Yes."
Sudo sighed, feeling he had been defeated. Kiyomi then turned to Suzuki.
"Come to think of it. I've never tried your cooking."
"Oh... I can make something for you sometime."
Ichika pouted.
"Already talking about cooking for another girl before you've even made me my food? You must be the cheating type."
"Huh!? What kind of logic is that? Kiyomi is my girlfriend."
Ichika then smirked.
"In which case you're making food for me making you a cheater."
"Huh!? How does cooking for someone other than your girlfriend even make you a cheater in the first place?"
Ichika laughed loudly and in an awkward way, wiping away some tears.
"You're so easy to tease Senpai."
'I already hate this woman.'
"Alright, Senpai. Make sure to give me something worth devouring tomorrow after school."
'Why does she have to say it like that?'
"Senpai. We'll meet at Keyaki Mall after school at 4:30pm okay?"
Suzuki looked surprised.
"Keyaki Mall? Not the dorms?"
"You'll have to buy the ingredients after all and I don't wanna give you time to practice the dish I want you to cook so I won't tell you until then."
Suzuki clicked his tongue.
"Aw don't be mad Senpai. If you're actually good at cooking you'll be fine."
Suzuki sighed.
"I'm good at it so don't worry about me."
Ichika nodded.
"Also Senpai. I want you to by some cooking tools used only for me."
"What? Why?"
"Because you should only use them for me."
Suzuki sighed.
"You're insufferable."
"Hehe."
Suzuki rubbed his forehead in frustration.
"Fine I'll meet you there."
Ichika smiled.
"Alright. I'll see you there Senpai."
Ichika blew him a kiss when Kiyomi pulled Suzuki towards herself, making the flying kiss miss.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
Ichika smirked and then turned around, leaving.
'That kohai really pisses me off.'
