When there are many people, some trouble will naturally arise for no reason. If only Konoha participated in this exam, the result might have been better. Adding Genin from some surrounding small countries naturally leads to chaos. Fortunately, no Genin from other major countries participated this time.

A small quarrel naturally triggers a series of disputes; with disputes comes trouble.

As a result, Genin from two small countries, because they couldn't resist looking at each other a couple more times, started a conflict. Rong Lin couldn't understand; these people were already sixteen or seventeen years old, still Genin level, yet coming to participate in the exams in another major country. Where did they get the confidence to start a quarrel?

"Everyone~ If you don't want to be eliminated before the exam even starts, then quiet down."

Suddenly, a slightly hoarse voice reached everyone's ears, causing those quarreling to involuntarily quiet down and look towards the source of the voice.

Him again...

Rong Lin looked back, his expression turning strange. Why have I been seeing White Fang so often lately?

Isn't he still the rookie sensei for Team Tsunade?

How did he suddenly become the head proctor for the Chunin Exams?

This gives a chameleon-like feeling – diversified, constantly changing.

Actually, this was just Rong Lin's mischievous thought. It indicated the Third Hokage's high regard for White Fang, not having neglected him due to the previous incident.

Because that kind of mission was fundamentally a dead loop. Back then, White Fang chose to abandon the mission to save his teammates, resulting in being blamed by everyone.

But how many people considered what would happen if White Fang continued the mission and abandoned his teammates?

When he returned to the village then, what kind of criticism would he face?

Heartless or cold-blooded?

Although this was the fate of a ninja, doing it and not doing it were two different matters.

At least, no one dared say anything openly, but privately, criticism was unavoidable. And given White Fang's character, he would likewise feel guilt, regret – regret why he didn't rescue his teammates.

Although he lost the position of Anbu Commander, still being able to retain the Third Hokage's regard could be considered good news. At least he didn't need to worry that his own affairs would cause the entire Hatake clan to suffer along with him.

Every generation of Hokage has people and families close to them. Every generation is no exception, regardless of which village; Konoha is no exception either.

Anyone could see that the Third Hokage inherited the Second's will, favoring the Hatake clan and the Hyuga clan, while continuously pressuring the Uchiha. It had to be said, the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama's calculations were played very well; even after his death, the Uchiha still couldn't escape the result of decline.

"Ahem!!"

Eyes seeming as if not fully awake swept across the crowded hall. White Fang spoke calmly:

"Hello everyone. I am the head proctor for this Chunin Exam – Hatake Sakumo. Of course, you can also call me Konoha's White Fang. Now, everyone listen carefully! This is not a place for fighting! If discovered, your exam qualification will be canceled."

"Additionally, even during the practical combat stage, without receiving orders, you cannot harm the opponent's life! Have you remembered?"

White Fang's voice wasn't loud, nor particularly resonant, yet it clearly drilled into everyone's ears. Many people present were startled.

You had to know, since the Second Shinobi World War, the name 'Konoha's White Fang' had spread throughout the entire ninja world. Just hearing the name told you he wasn't someone to mess with.

Those Genin from small countries who originally still held some dissatisfaction immediately put away their displeased expressions and behaved themselves.

Only after everyone quieted down did White Fang express satisfaction: "Then, next, everyone can come here to draw your respective numbers. According to the number, sit in the designated position. Test papers will now be distributed for the written exam."

"Written exam?!"

As soon as these words came out, many immediately exclaimed in surprise. No need to think to know these were the types whose usual grades were a complete mess. Rong Lin dared guarantee that, relying on their own abilities, less than half the ninja present could pass. This showed how many people the written test alone could eliminate, and also fully embodied one phrase – being uncultured is truly terrifying.

In the short few years at the Ninja Academy, how much written knowledge could one learn?

"Quiet!!!" White Fang roared loudly, like an enraged male lion, pointing at the cardboard box nearby: "Now everyone get up here and receive your numbers! Anyone still chattering and discussing will have their exam qualification canceled on the spot!"

White Fang getting angry once again refreshed Rong Lin's understanding of him.

In Rong Lin's understanding, White Fang belonged to the type... hmm, rather kind, rather gentle middle-aged man. But comparing now, Rong Lin could only say, kindness also depends on the person! Even using "laozi" popped out! It showed White Fang probably didn't refrain from using such words usually either.

Sure enough, sometimes coarse language is far more useful than speaking softly. Now no one dared to speak, obediently going forward to receive their number tags.

Is it necessary to treat me like this?

Holding the number tag in his hand, Rong Lin glanced at White Fang. Do I look like someone who would cheat?

Alright, Rong Lin drew number one. He didn't understand why, among so many people, he specifically needed to sit in the number one position, doing the test paper facing White Fang's slowly aging face.

White Fang gave Rong Lin a 'watch yourself' look, waved his hand, and immediately, the large contingent of Jonin who arrived with him walked to various corners of the classroom, even into the aisles. It could be said you were being watched from everywhere around you.

One could imagine how much courage and strength were needed to cheat under such circumstances.

The test papers were quickly distributed. White Fang coughed lightly and said, "Then before the exam begins, let me say two things. First, I and the various proctors refuse to answer any of your questions. Second, if during the exam period any proctor discovers you cheating, your exam qualification will be canceled on the spot."

Please don't grade based on teams!!!

Rong Lin had no other requests. If he wanted to cheat, would he even need White Fang staring at him? Activate Sharingan and Byakugan, and everything could be seen. Not to mention, he himself wasn't afraid of these so-called written tests to begin with.

All he could pray for was that the exam would be evaluated based on individual scores, not team scores. That way, he would be put in a very awkward position. Looking at the age of his teammates, Rong Lin felt very speechless.
