The guard opened the heavy door, and Gerald looked up from the steel table. His eyes narrowed in disbelief.
"Sarah? Britney?"
He stood slowly, stunned to see both his daughters walking into the room—together.
Sarah looked completely different. She wore dark jeans, a leather jacket, and her once soft, shy face was now bold and sharp. Gerald's eyes scanned her from head to toe.
"What… what happened to you?" he asked, blinking hard.
Britney smirked as she dropped into the seat across from him. "Don't worry, Dad. I prefer this version of her. Less crying, more action."
Sarah didn't smile. "I got tired," she said, pulling out the chair slowly. "Tired of playing the good girl. That role only made people treat me like a joke."
Britney leaned on the table with a teasing grin. "Yeah, good girls don't get ahead in this world. You should've dumped that attitude a long time ago."
Gerald looked between them, still in shock. "Is this how you two talk now?"
