It was the day of the test 21 SEPTEMBER 8100. Inside the building there were artificial sun and moon to make day and night. So the people would not feel trapped. So the day was sunny and the month being September the cold had permeated a bit in the atmosphere but nonetheless it was still not so significant.
Today was a special day for Kian as he was going to take the test. He was excited yet slightly nervous because he didn't know what to expect. Though he asked a lot about the test to Rafael after coming back to the hotel and to which Rafael answered most of his questions but he became silent as soon as he was asked about the character test. Because no one knew what one may face in character test and the memories of their own test was very inconsistent or very fuzzy. They just know that they passed.
This was done because in the time of crisis your character decides what are you gonna do. Since humans were constantly facing the threat from other races they were in no mood to have people with less of a character or a person who would rat out their race or who would prioritise saving his own skin than fighting for the race. Most of the humans have a backstabbing nature and that's why they were so weak and were always at someone else's mercy even though they had many powerhouses.
Every human wanted to have their own family or lineage progress but would like to have other lineages to go down. This would seriously affect the human race as a whole. So to counter all these, some measures were taken like unique character tests and it was erased from their memory or atleast that was what Kian understood.
They went to the same place where the identity assessment was taken and Officer Nova gave them a warm smile.
"Everything is ready. We can begin at any time you want."
"Let's begin then."said Rafael.
Nova motioned Kian to go to the the platform and asked him to sit cross legged there and start his cultivation. Kian did as he was told and tried to cultivate and just like that finish the first cycle as he became very proficient cultivating as per the Kosha Scriptures he just had to circulate the spiritual energy through every meridians in his body tempering his internal organs, bones and muscles and even skin reinforcing it from the inside out.
The platform didn't not glow at first but after a second it gave a hue of different colors and at last stopped at White color. It means Kian had the highest possible potential meaning he would easily surpass the Arcane Spirit Realm if given enough time. But the potential was not everything because it only meant that he could go a very long way in cultivation but, that didn't not guarantee his path would be easy or he would even get to embark on that path before not getting himself killed. The human race had a long history of getting their geniuses killed at a very young stage because of the threat they induced to other races and here Kian had one of the highest potential in the human history.
But luckily enough no one in this room would let this secret out because Rafael was loyal to the core and Officer Nova had undertaken an imperial oath of atleast Silver Grade which would incinerate his body and soul the moment he tried to divulge anything happening inside this office's premises to an outsider. The moment there was White light both Rafael and Nova became rooted with their mouths open because both of them never seen someone with White potential and only heard of such characters in myths and legends but now they were seeing an 11 year old kid having a White potential.
For Rafael what was shocking was that he had anticipated that Kian's potential to be very high maybe Silver or Purple or even Golden but not even in his dream he had thought that he would see a person with White potential. It was once in a many lifetime opportunity. He was just thrilled to know about his Young Master to have so high potential even the highest potential he had ever seen.
"Boy you have got some potential after all." said Rafael because he knew he was under estimating Kian's potential but he didn't want him to get all this into his head. Having a high potential was welcome but potential was not everything in the cultivation world as there had been a lot more people who had very high potential but were met with premature demise because they could not keep their head straight or mouths shut. There is a poverb saying 'Straight trees are cut down sooner than the crooked ones.' The saying was not for nothing it had some philosophical angle to it.
Nova who had shocked expression soon realised that there was nothing wrong in Kian's potential because then he remembered the family the boy came from, all were monster in that family. So he then just motioned Kian to step down from the platform lead them to a stairway in the 1st floor. There was nothing in the first floor except for a pod in the middle. The trio came beside the pod and Nova directly looked into Kian's eyes and said
" You must go into this pod for your character assessment test. But before that I want to list out some of the rules and precautions to be strictly adhered before going into the pod."
Kian nodded and asked " Yeah, please tell."
" The first thing you need to remember is to let your mind lose you may feel you are going to sleep and don't resist that."
" Whatever happens in the pod remains in the pod you don't need to tell anyone or you are not supposed to tell anyone and 99 percent of the things happened here will be forgotten by you so there is no need worry."
"Be absolutely honest in the test otherwise you will be failed just like that."
"Okay this was it. So now you need to go into the pod."
Nodding to the instructions Kian swiftly moved into the pod and laid down.
He felt warm sensation all over his body and wanted to sleep as soon as he went inside. But he kept his head straight and focused.
Nova closed the pod and him and Rafael stood beside. Now they could only wait since what happens was not in their hand.
The character test was not any regular test but very accurate and proficient test in the empire. The test tested your inner being as if it could see through a person but what happened inside no one knows but nevertheless the rumours got their place in the world.
Some said that the Gods themselves tested the test taker others emphasized on the 'The Formless' to be the test taker but what was even the test no one knew not even the test taker. The only thing they got was whether they passed or not.
Kian was not feeling anything now and was brought to a new world akin to paradise where an old man was fishing in a pond nearby.
The world was very very beautiful akin to a scenery painting. Mountains in the far then the plains a river flowing nearby and the huts surrounding the river. Birds chirping all around people working in the fields. The place was beautiful in short.
There was a paved road where Kian was standing he walked towards the pond.
The old man's back was facing him and without looking he uttered " You came finally my friend."
Kian was surprised that he could sense him here.
He went forward and said " Hello, where is this place."
The old man said nothing and just smiled and motioned him to sit down beside him.
The man asked him " This place is something you will visit after a long time in the future but now you need to answer some of my question."
Kian though curious if what the man said was true or not chose to remain silent and listen the question as he was aware that this was a test.
He nodded for the question.
The old man smiled lightly and said" Okay I shall ask the question but there is a condition attached to it. If you give any answer that is made up or not the answer in your heart then you will teleport back. So my advise is to answer honestly and sincerely."
Kian just said " I will try my best."
The man asked the first question" Now think you are in a situation where you have to either kill your downright evil mother who loved you very much or a righteous father who neither loved you or hate you ? Who would you kill?
Kian was shocked that he would be asked a question like this laced with a philosophical dilemma. He just was blank for a whole 3 minutes before he snapped back and he answered back " I would kill my mother."
The old man smiled and said" Now the second question. If you were to lead men into war what would be your greatest achievement."
The boy who was simple minded answered innocently "It would be to end the war without anyone dying."
The old man smirked and said " Okay the third and last question. If you had the power to end one thing in this world what would it be."
Kian who had seen a fair share of hardship in this world but was always grateful that his parents were there for him said " The only thing I would end would be that no children should be parentless."
With that being said he teleported back into the pod and the lid opened.
Rafael came near him and asked if he remembered anything and Kian said " No it just feels like I saw a beautiful dream and nothing else. I don't even remember for how long I was out."
"You stayed in the pod for 1 whole day."
Kian was shocked hearing this " How could it be I just went to the pod just few minutes ago..."
Rafael showed him the date on his device which surprised Kian even more now.
It felt nothing like he was out for a day he just felt it like minutes have passed.
"Okay don't think about all these. The good thing is that you passed and now you are eligible to go the Academy."
Kian was again surprised that he passed. It was not that he lacked confidence in himself but it just felt a little unreal that he passed so easily. But if the end is right then everything is right.
Nova gave him the official Academy Entrance Assessment Token which he would be using to get past the check points while entering The Academy.
