"I'm sorry, Isabella," Elliot said. "Were you saying something?"
This was the wrong thing for him to say.
Isabella narrowed her eyes at her future husband, and her jaw clenched. She didn't respond to Elliot's question but ignored his outstretched hand. Isabella took Michelle's hand and stormed away, pulling her younger sister behind her as she went.
Elliot stood there for a moment with his hands in his pockets, staring blankly at Isabella as she angrily slid open the patio door. Then, he looked back at me.
"This is the part where you go after her and beg her for forgiveness, or you can kiss your relationship goodbye," I told him dryly.
"Yeah, dude, she's right," Axel said, still rubbing his throat where Gareth had choked him.
Without a word, Elliot sprinted up the patio stairs, calling out to Isabella, begging her to slow down even though she was already inside her house.
"Men," I muttered under my breath, thinking of Gareth's anger and Elliot in general.
