Chapter 114: The Keldeo That Flashed By
And so, Bai Feng and his group traveled on the Skiff, following the Map provided by Zhi Huo, sailing across the Sea Area. They drifted like this for two days and two nights.
Gyarados's swimming speed was both fast and steady, so Bai Feng didn't suffer much along the way. Occasionally listening to Brionne and the others sing, or calming his mind to cultivate his psychic ability through meditation, the time just flew by.
This day, Bai Feng had just finished his meditation session when he suddenly noticed the sky beginning to darken.
"It looks like it's going to rain!"
As Water-type Pokémon, Brionne and Gyarados were sensitive to weather changes at sea. Hearing Bai Feng's words, they immediately nodded in agreement.
Bai Feng took out the Map, looked at it for a while, and said to Gyarados, "There should be a Small Island nearby. Let's go there to rest up before we set off again."
"Roar~"
Gyarados nodded and then began to speed up its swimming. However, before they could reach the Small Island, a light rain began to fall from the sky.
Fortunately, it wasn't a storm, so Bai Feng could handle it. He took out the waterproof tent from his Space Backpack, propped it up, and covered the top of the Skiff with it. This way, they wouldn't get wet from the rain.
This tent was also specially prepared by Dongyu. It wasn't used for camping this time, but it served as an umbrella.
Actually, Bai Feng had also brought an umbrella, but it was too small and completely insufficient to cover the Skiff.
Just as Bai Feng and the others thought they would soon reach the Small Island on the Map smoothly, the Gyarados outside suddenly let out a cry of surprise.
Bai Feng quickly pulled back the tent and went outside to check the situation, only to see that their Skiff had, at some point, been surrounded by a group of Qwilfish.
Qwilfish are covered in spikes and were bumping against Bai Feng's Skiff, making loud banging sounds. Bai Feng was helpless, thinking, *What are you doing? How did I provoke you?*
Seeing this, Bai Feng had to search around the Skiff for the reason the Qwilfish were attacking them. Then he saw a clump of seaweed trailing behind his Skiff, with a small Qwilfish tangled inside.
*Well, there's the reason!*
Bai Feng was really exasperated. *I didn't do it on purpose! Besides, couldn't you just break the seaweed and rescue the small Qwilfish? Why make trouble for a passerby like me?*
Just as he was about to go over and pull off the seaweed, he suddenly heard a cracking sound, followed by a sinking feeling under his feet. He fell directly into the water.
Not only did Bai Feng fall into the water, but Brionne, Bai Ye, Kricketune, and Chatot on the boat also fell into the water one after another because the Skiff was broken, shattered into pieces by the Qwilfish's bumping.
Because the tent was covering them, Chatot and Kricketune, who had originally intended to fly up, were also covered and plunged into the sea. Fortunately, Brionne, who could swim, promptly dragged them out from under the tent.
As for Bai Ye, it had already used Teleport in time to get onto Gyarados and also conveniently pulled Bai Feng out of the water.
The destruction of the Skiff angered Bai Ye. It immediately used Confusion to cover the Qwilfish, and soon the Qwilfish all flipped onto their backs.
Without the tent and the Skiff, Bai Feng and the others quickly became soaked. It was December, and the weather was very cold. Bai Feng's lips were frozen purple.
Just then, a huge black vortex appeared not far from Bai Feng and his group. A simple-looking Ghost Ship slowly sailed out from it.
If this wasn't Mismagius and their ship, then whose could it be?
When a large number of Ghost-type Pokémon gather together, they create a special energy field. This energy field distorts space, providing a place of shelter for Ghost-type Pokémon and also serving as a means for them to hide their presence.
This is the reason why Ghost Ships at sea are elusive and often trigger supernatural legends.
Bai Feng had originally thought Mismagius and the others had left, but he didn't expect them to have been following behind them all along.
Shortly after the Ghost Ship appeared, Bai Feng saw Ghost-type Pokémon floating out from it one by one. They flew to Bai Feng and his group and carried them onto the ship.
Finally having a place to shelter from the rain, Bai Feng quickly took out a dry towel to wipe the water off himself and his Pokémon.
After changing into a fresh set of clothes, Bai Feng finally felt like he was alive again. Just then, Mismagius also appeared before him.
Bai Feng asked in confusion, "You've been following me?"
"Muma~" Mismagius nodded.
"Why are you following me?" Bai Feng couldn't understand.
"Muma~ Muma~ Muma~" *Aren't you going to look for Milotic? I want to go too. A Milotic that you would go to such lengths to find must be extraordinary.*
Milotic has the ability to soothe the emotions of creatures. Mismagius felt that perhaps it could find a way to help Misdreavus recover from Milotic, which is why it had been silently following behind Bai Feng. Seeing Bai Feng and his group in trouble today, it finally revealed itself to rescue them.
Bai Feng thought about it and realized it made sense. The Milotic he was looking for was someone Sister Zhi Huo wanted him to find. Could a character that a big shot like Sister Zhi Huo was concerned about be simple? Perhaps it really did have the ability to heal Misdreavus.
Thinking of this, Bai Feng asked again, "How is Misdreavus doing now?"
"Muma~ Muma~"
Hearing this, Mismagius shook its head with a sad expression. Then it looked at Bai Feng as if it wanted to say something but hesitated.
"Muma... Muma~" *Can you... can you let your Chikorita...*
Mismagius hadn't finished speaking when Bai Feng guessed what it was going to say next, so he quickly refused, "No, it's a temporary fix, not a permanent solution. What's the point of recovering for a short while?"
*It's not your child, so you don't feel the pain, right? Frequently shedding leaves is also taxing on Chikorita. Before, it was unavoidable, but now there's no need.*
Hearing Bai Feng's refusal, Mismagius was a little disappointed, but it didn't force the issue. Just as Bai Feng said, it was a temporary fix. A brief recovery would only add to the disappointment and wouldn't change anything.
"Since you want to come with us to find Milotic, can we hitch a ride on your ship?" Bai Feng inquired.
"Muma~"
Mismagius nodded. *If I wasn't going to let you ride, I wouldn't have let you come aboard just now.*
Under Mismagius and the others' arrangement, Bai Feng and his group were given a Room on the Ghost Ship. Although there was nothing inside, it was still more comfortable than sitting in the Skiff. At the very least, they weren't exposed to the wind or rain.
Bai Feng also went to see Misdreavus. It was still in a state of frenzy, wanting to attack anyone it saw, so it was still kept by Mismagius in the container obtained from the Weather Institute.
It was indeed quite pitiful. Hopefully, Milotic can really help it.
The light rain continued all night and gradually stopped around dawn. When the morning sunlight shone through the clouds, Bai Feng finally felt what warmth was like.
Ghost-type Pokémon don't like bright sunlight, so they were all hiding in the Ship Cabin at this time. Only Bai Feng stood alone on the Deck, breathing in the fresh air after the rain.
Just then, he suddenly heard a "tap-tap-tap" sound, followed by the sight of a small yellow horse galloping happily on the water, creating waves on the calm sea surface.
Behind the small horse followed a group of Finneon and Lumineon. When the Finneon and Lumineon leaped out of the water, their bodies emitted colorful light under the sunlight, looking very beautiful. They truly deserved the title of "Beautifly of the Sea."
Bai Feng felt like he had watched a free Contest performance.
The small horse ran very fast and soon disappeared from Bai Feng's sight, taking the Finneon and Lumineon with it.
It took Bai Feng a while to snap back to reality. *Was that Keldeo just now?*
He hadn't expected that simply getting up early to breathe some fresh air would allow him to see the Legendary Pokémon Keldeo.
It was a shame that Keldeo was too fast. Bai Feng didn't even get a clear look before it was gone. What a pity.
Keldeo's appearance was just a small interlude in Bai Feng's journey. Afterward, Bai Feng continued towards his destination aboard the Ghost Ship. The Ghost Ship's speed was much faster than the Skiff's.
Two days later, Bai Feng looked at the Map in his hand and said to Mismagius, "We should be arriving soon, but I don't know if we'll be able to meet Milotic smoothly."
Milotic is a living Pokémon. Who knows if it's at Home right now? If it's not... just thinking about it makes him want to vomit blood.
"Muma~ Muma~" *Then let's speed up!*
Mismagius was even more anxious than Bai Feng. With a command from Mismagius, the Ghost Ship, controlled by the Ghost-type Pokémon, suddenly accelerated. Bai Feng could feel the rushing sea wind sweeping across his face.
In reality, there was no wind at sea at that moment.
About an hour later, the Ghost Ship entered a new Sea Area. However, just as Bai Feng and the others entered, it started raining in the sky.
*Raining again?* Bai Feng was stunned. He looked up at the sky, only to see the sun still hanging high.
"Ang!!!"
Just then, Bai Feng and the Pokémon suddenly heard a dragon roar. Immediately after, a patch of dark clouds gathered in the sky not far away. Golden lightning flashed continuously within the dark clouds.
The dragon roar Bai Feng and the others had just heard seemed to come from under that patch of dark clouds.
As the Ghost Ship got closer to the dark clouds, the rain in the air became heavier. Bai Feng and the others gradually saw what kind of Pokémon was making the dragon roar under the dark clouds.
A Dragonite.
That Dragonite was constantly moving back and forth over the sea surface, while lightning kept striking down from above its head.
At first, Bai Feng and the others couldn't see what was controlling the lightning to attack Dragonite, but as Dragonite used its Hurricane to blow open a corner of the dark clouds, Bai Feng and the others finally discovered that a black and yellow bird Pokémon had been moving within the dark clouds all along.
It was a Kilowattrel.
Kilowattrel is a relatively common Pokémon at sea, but this one actually had the power to contend with a Dragonite, and it seemed to be making the Dragonite somewhat frustrated.
The reason was that the Kilowattrel's speed was simply too fast. Coupled with its ability to control thunderstorm weather to conceal its figure, it was practically leading the Dragonite on a merry chase.
Both Pokémon had great power, and the battle created a grand scale of impact, but they were blocking Bai Feng and the others' necessary path. So Mismagius had to stop the Ghost Ship, planning to wait until they finished fighting before continuing.
Dragonite was probably driven to desperation by Kilowattrel's guerrilla tactics. It looked up at the sky, and a golden energy ball suddenly condensed in its mouth.
The next second, the golden energy ball shot into the cloud layer like a cannonball and exploded with a bang. Countless meteors fell from the sky, and the entire patch of dark clouds was instantly blown away.
The sky suddenly became bright.
However, the exploded meteors were still continuously exploding in the air like fireworks. Kilowattrel probably didn't expect Dragonite to suddenly use such a powerful move and was caught off guard, only able to frantically flee under the falling meteors.
Fortunately, its speed was fast enough, and its movements were agile enough, allowing it to escape danger every time.
Bai Feng and their Ghost Ship were also inevitably affected by Dragonite's Draco Meteor. Fragmented meteors almost hit the hull several times, but fortunately, Mismagius blocked them in time.
Bai Feng stood beside Mismagius, terrified by the scene, afraid of being hit by the stones that were burning with fire.
Just then, he heard a splash not far away on the Deck, and saw a blue object fall there.
"What's that?" Bai Feng asked in confusion.
"Muma~ Muma~" *Don't know, it looks a bit like a Pokémon.*
Mismagius shook its head and replied.
Bai Feng walked over, picked up the unknown object, and upon closer inspection, it really was a Pokémon.
It was a Swablu curled up in a ball. Because its pure white and soft feathers were soaked by the rainwater, it had become a veritable soaked chicken, making it impossible to see its original appearance.
Swablu was unconscious and had obvious injuries on its body. It should have been affected by Dragonite's Draco Meteor, and due to the double blow of rainwater and low temperature, its body was still trembling even though it was unconscious.
Bai Feng found Bai Ye and had Bai Ye use a Heal Pulse on it. He also squeezed juice from a Berry and fed it to the Swablu, then used a towel to help dry its feathers, and finally tucked it into his arms to warm it up.
By the time Bai Feng finished treating Swablu, the battle between Dragonite and Kilowattrel was still ongoing.
Because Kilowattrel's speed was too fast, although Dragonite's Draco Meteor penetrated the cloud layer, it didn't actually cause effective damage to Kilowattrel.
So Kilowattrel started taunting Dragonite, constantly using Agility to harass Dragonite up close. Its speed was already fast, and with the boost from Agility, Dragonite couldn't hit it with Dragon Claw, couldn't hit it with Ice Punch, and still couldn't hit it with Dragon Tail.
Kilowattrel's taunting continued.
*Come on, hit me, keep using Draco Meteor!*
Kilowattrel was flying almost right next to Dragonite. How could Dragonite still use Draco Meteor? Would it hit itself too?
"Roar!!!!"
Dragonite roared at the sky. It probably finally couldn't stand the taunting anymore, so it started a mutual destruction strategy. It slammed its hands onto the sea surface, using the Hurricane to stir up endless waves, and then opened its mouth to unleash countless bone-chilling cold air.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh~~~
A strong wind began to blow over the sea, followed by a large amount of ice and snow.
Dragonite used the Blizzard.
Because it was used centered on itself, the Blizzard engulfed both Dragonite and Kilowattrel.
It was the harsh winter season now. Dragonite, being a Dragon type and Flying-type Pokémon, was already extremely unable to adapt to this kind of weather. Now that it had stirred up a storm, who else would be uncomfortable if not it?
