Chapter 11 - CHAPTER TWELVE:FINALLY OUTSIDE.

The next morning came quickly. I barely slept the whole night, wondering if this was truly happening. Just as the sun rose, there was a knock at the door.

John opened it, and a neatly dressed man stood there. "Good morning, sir. The car is ready," he said respectfully.

John nodded, then turned to me with a soft smile. "Come on, let's go."

I hesitated but stood, walking slowly toward him. He took my hand, his warmth giving me the courage I lacked.

We got into the black luxurious car, and I stayed quiet as the assistant drove. The road seemed new to me—I hadn't stepped out for years, so everything felt unfamiliar, almost like I didn't belong to this world anymore. I stared outside, the passing streets, the buildings, the people… everything was overwhelming.

John noticed it and squeezed my hand gently. "It's alright… you're safe with me now."

Finally, we arrived at the airport. I blinked several times, seeing a private jet waiting for us. "You… you own that?" I asked weakly.

John chuckled. "Yeah. You're with me now, so get used to it."

He helped me up the steps, and soon we were flying. The sky was beautiful, but my heart couldn't settle. The altitude made me dizzy, and as soon as we landed, my body grew weak.

"John… I feel sick," I whispered.

His eyes widened. "It's okay… we'll go straight to my company. I'll take care of you."

We arrived at his company in a few minutes. His employees stood straight in two lines, welcoming him. Their eyes shifted curiously toward me, but no one dared speak.

John carried me in his arms like I was something precious, shocking them even more. "She's with me… treat her well," he said, his voice softer than they'd ever heard.

They nodded quickly, bowing their heads. "Welcome, young madam."

John brought me straight into his office—huge and full of light. He placed me on the couch gently. "You'll stay with me here… I'm not letting you out of my sight."

Soon, the meeting began. I sat silently beside him, and everyone noticed the change. The once cold and distant CEO was smiling, glancing at me, his tone softer as he spoke.

The employees sat in shock but relieved. In their hearts, they wished… Please stay… if it's because of her that Sir is this warm… we hope she never leaves.

I stared at John, my heart fluttering. Maybe… just maybe… I wasn't as alone as I thought.

The meeting went on for a while, but my eyes were only on John. He glanced at me from time to time, and every time our eyes met, his lips curved into a small, genuine smile—a smile that was rare but beautiful.

After some time, the meeting ended. One of the employees, brave enough, spoke up, "Sir, if there's anything that Madam needs… we'll gladly get it for her."

John's gaze softened. "Thank you… but I'll take care of her myself."

The employees bowed slightly, and one by one, they left the room.

Once the door clicked shut, John let out a soft sigh of relief and turned fully to me. "Are you feeling any better?" he asked, brushing my hair back gently.

I nodded slowly, but before I could speak, he leaned down, placing a warm kiss on my forehead. "You did well… staying beside me. I'm proud of you."

My cheeks heated up, and I lowered my gaze. "Thank you… for everything."

He chuckled lightly, "We're not done yet. Come… I want to show you something."

John stood and gently helped me up. Holding my hand tightly, he led me out of the office. We walked past his employees, all secretly stealing glances our way, surprised at how gentle and caring their cold boss had become.

He took me to the rooftop, where the sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The breeze brushed against our faces, and for the first time, I felt a strange kind of peace.

"It's beautiful," I whispered.

John smiled, pulling me close, wrapping his arms around me from behind. "Not as beautiful as you," he murmured softly against my ear, making my heart race.

We stood there, silently enjoying the sunset until John spoke again, his voice deeper, serious. "You know… I used to stand here alone. Every evening… wondering if I'll ever meet you again."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I felt his heartbeat against my back. "And now that you're here… I don't want to let you go. Not anymore."

I turned to face him, my eyes meeting his. "John…"

Without another word, he cupped my face and kissed me—slow, soft, and full of emotions. It wasn't rushed, nor was it too passionate… it was perfect. A kiss that said everything words couldn't.

When he finally pulled back, he rested his forehead against mine. "You're mine… only mine."

I smiled through my tears and nodded. "Yes… I'm yours."

The moment was too beautiful. We stayed like that until the sky turned dark.

"Let's go home," he whispered. "Tonight… I just want you by my side."

And with that, he carried me down, not caring who saw. From now on… it was just us against the world.
