The core behind the Compiler pulsed with an ancient rhythm, slow, deliberate, like a forgotten heart remembering how to beat. The air shimmered with recursive code. Contrario could feel it in his bones.

The Compiler turned toward the core and raised her hand. Lines of light laced with floating glyphs streamed from her fingertips, threading themselves into the center.
Then, everything stopped and began again just as they had stopped.
"You wanted answers, didn't you boy?" the Compiler said softly. "Then you don't need to see them just in memories…..but in the truth."
The world dissolved into grayscale, the colors around them drained, sound warped. Contrario stood frozen in place, yet somehow moving, drawn into the very heart of her code.
What he saw....was the birth of betrayal.
