Maynard collapsed. Illumi forcefully pried open the hands that had been clasped around his neck.

"Cough..."

Illumi stood up, rubbing his neck. The pain of suffocation, and the agony of his windpipe and throat being crushed—he really didn't want to experience that a second time.

"Something's not right here."

Just as Illumi was recovering, King Bradley suddenly spoke, his tone slightly grave.

"Hisss..."

The hissing of snakes was incessant; the rustling sound of numerous viper scales rubbing against each other was everywhere.

Illumi shook his head and scanned his surroundings. He saw that the Habu vipers, which should no longer be under control, had actually stopped moving. Their heads were turned towards Illumi and Bradley, tongues flickering.

"HISSS!!"

Suddenly, these Habu vipers gathered on the grass surged towards Illumi and Bradley, looking savage and terrifying.

"Go!"

Illumi said softly, and together with King Bradley, sprinted away from the villa.

Behind them, the dense mass of Habu vipers followed closely, covering the water-droplet-covered grass—it was practically a snake plague.

Due to Illumi and King Bradley's extreme speed, the snake swarm couldn't catch up and lost its target.

Thus, they began to disperse, the dense mass of Habu vipers spreading out in all directions like locusts.

Twenty minutes later, Illumi and King Bradley rushed out of the main gate of the St. Laurent Bay Villa District.

"This should be far enough."

Illumi and King Bradley stood at the community gate. The security guard in the gatehouse rubbed his eyes; he hadn't even seen how these two appeared.

"Aaah~!!!"

"Snakes! There are snakes! So many snakes!!!"

"Ah~!!!"

At this moment, screams erupted from within the community, both men's and women's. Finally, the screams turned into miserable shrieks and wails of grief.

"Let's go."

Illumi and King Bradley walked along the small path in front of the community gate to the main road outside, hailed a taxi, and headed towards the hospital.

Thirty minutes later, at the entrance of the National Hospital.

Illumi took out his phone, scrolled through his contacts, and dialed Adkins' number.

"Felicia Fitzgerald is dead."

Illumi's voice sounded in the chairman's office of the Kose Corporation headquarters. Adkins removed the cigar from his mouth, stubbed it out in the ashtray, and chuckled.

"Mr. Illumi is truly fast. From the commission until now, only ten hours have passed."

"Truly worthy of someone from an assassination family; your reputation is well-deserved."

"Remember to transfer the payment to my card."

Illumi only said two sentences and directly hung up. He didn't want to listen to a businessman's flattery; it was all nonsense.

This assassination commission, according to Hunter Association standards, should be around D-rank, with a reward of 2 billion. This was based on Illumi's own judgment.

After hanging up, Illumi and King Bradley walked side-by-side into the hospital entrance.

"What!?"

"You were bitten by a Habu viper! And it's been almost an hour!?"

The doctor on night duty, originally listless, jumped up from his chair in fright upon hearing Illumi's words. Bitten by a Habu for an hour and still able to jump around like a normal person!

"Anti... antivenom!"

"Quick, to the emergency room!"

The doctor hurriedly placed Illumi on a bed, then pushed him towards the emergency room, all the while yelling angrily at King Bradley.

"What on earth is wrong with you!?"

"Such a young child was bitten by a Habu, and you just stood by indifferently!"

"Are you even human!?"

King Bradley, however, followed the doctor's running steps without a word, his expression impassive.

Thirty minutes later, King Bradley sat on a green plastic chair outside the emergency room door, resting with his eyes closed.

"Click."

The emergency room door opened, but the first one out wasn't the doctor, but Illumi.

"Let's go, it's fine now."

King Bradley opened his eyes and walked side-by-side with Illumi towards the hospital exit.

And as the two passed the emergency room door, through the gap, one could see the doctors and nurses looking as if they had seen a ghost.

"'Impossible... with that dose of hemotoxin, even if not dead, he should be close to it.'"

"'After so much time, he... only has some swelling at the wound.'"

Illumi placed both hands behind his head and, along with King Bradley, slowly strolled out of the hospital main entrance.

"Buzz..."

The phone in his pants pocket vibrated. Illumi took it out and saw that the 2 billion reward had arrived.

Looking down at the text message on his phone, in just two short days, he had already earned 3 billion. Assassination was truly lucrative.

"Next, let's find a place to train properly."

Illumi looked up at the night sky. It was already five in the morning; the sky was beginning to lighten.

The sky was a pale blue; it should be a fine day today.

"Since I'm out, I can't always stay in that castle."

Illumi and the silent Bradley strolled slowly along the main road outside the hospital, checking into a four-star hotel at the crossroads at the end of the avenue.

"Beep beep..."

Upon entering the room, Illumi's phone rang again. He took it out and saw it was actually Silva.

"Father."

Illumi answered the call. Silva's steady and calm voice came from the phone.

"Illumi, did you use grandfather's teacup to do the Water Divination?"

"Mm, yes."

Illumi admitted very honestly.

"I see. Your grandfather came to ask me if anyone in the family awakened their Nen ability today."

"My first thought was to contact you, but Zeno-sama said you were on an assassination mission, so the contact was delayed until now."

"It seems your commission should be completed."

Silva explained to Illumi. At this moment, Zeno Zoldyck was sitting on the sofa beside him, leisurely sipping tea.

"This assassination, what did you think of it?"

Illumi breathed a sigh of relief inwardly, sat down on the soft, large bed, and said.

"The opponent was a Nen user, but because his Nen ability was auxiliary type, the difficulty was around D-rank, I suppose."

"Of course, even so, it was still a tricky one for me."

"Is that so? As long as you're safe."

Silva expressed his concern for Illumi softly, then hung up the phone and looked at Zeno Zoldyck.

"That aura... it should be Illumi's. He used that cup for Water Divination."

Zeno Zoldyck put down his cup, his eyes slightly narrowed. He slowly stood up and silently left the room.

"Illumi, is it?"

"Within his body, there seems to be hidden an extremely dangerous power."

Zeno Zoldyck strolled down the dim corridor, Illumi's face flashing in his mind.

"This brat... is not as simple as he appears on the surface."

"It's necessary to pay more attention."
