Chapter 19 - Visiting

I ask that you join me in showing your gratitude and admiration for these noble warriors. Let us honor them with a round of applause, and let our cheers echo through the halls of history as a testament to their courage and sacrifice.(Prince)

The crowd erupts into applause, the sound deafening as nobles and commoners alike stand and clap, shouting their thanks and admiration. The knights stand tall, their faces a mix of pride and solemnity, acknowledging the outpouring of gratitude with nods and bows.

Alaric, his heart swelling with emotion, glances at Beatrice and Aerion, sharing a moment of camaraderie and understanding.

....

A few days later, Alaric invites Aerion over to his mansion for a muchneeded relaxation and unwinding session. The two knights, clad in comfortable attire, sit in Alaric's study, sipping on a fine vintage of red wine.

Alaric leans back in his chair, a contented sigh escaping his lips.

It's good to have a moment of peace, isn't it? After all the chaos and violence of the past weeks, it's nice to just... breathe.(Alaric)

Aerion nods in agreement, swirling the wine in his glass.

Indeed, Alaric. We've been through a lot lately.(Aerion)

Alaric's expression turns thoughtful as he considers Aerion's words. He sets his wine glass down, his fingers drumming lightly on the armrest of his chair.

You're right, Aerion. The Celestial Order may be defeated, but their influence lingers. And with the upcoming tournament, we can expect more challenges and intrigues to arise.(Alaric)

Alaric's gaze drifts to the stack of letters on his desk, the marriage proposals from various noble houses. He sighs, running a hand through his hair.

And then there's this... I've been receiving a lot of marriage proposals lately. It seems every noble house wants to forge an alliance with the hero who defeated the Celestial Order.(Alaric)

Aerion chuckles, shaking his head.

I suppose that's the price of fame, Alaric. But you don't have to decide anything right away. Take your time, consider your options carefully.(Aerion)

Alaric nods, picking up his wine glass again.

You're right, of course. I won't rush into anything.(Alaric)

The sound of knocking echoes through the mansion, and Alaric and Aerion exchange curious glances. Alaric sets his wine glass down and stands, making his way to the front door. He opens it to find the prince standing on his doorstep, flanked by two royal guards.

Alaric bows deeply, surprised by the unexpected visit.

Your Highness, to what do I owe the pleasure?(Alaric)

The prince smiles warmly, stepping into the mansion.

Sir Alaric, I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd stop by to discuss a matter of great importance.(Prince)

Alaric gestures for the prince to enter, closing the door behind him.

Not at all, Your Highness. Please, come in. I was just having a drink with Sir Aerion. Would you like to join us?(Alaric)

The prince nods, following Alaric into the study where Aerion waits. The prince takes a seat, accepting a glass of wine from Alaric with a smile.

Thank you, Sir Alaric. I must say, it's refreshing to be among friends and not just royal duties.(Prince)

Alaric settles back into his chair, raising his glass in a toast.

To friends and the occasional respite from the burdens of our responsibilities.(Alaric)

The prince and Aerion raise their glasses, clinking them against Alaric's. They sip the wine, the rich flavor filling their mouths. The prince leans back, his expression thoughtful.

You know, I've been considering the future of the kingdom. With the Celestial Order defeated, it's time to look ahead and plan for a brighter tomorrow.(Prince)

Aerion nods, his brow furrowing slightly.

I take it you have some ideas in mind, Your Highness?(Aerion)

The prince smiles, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.
