Eugene figured things had changed, but he still woke up with Irving beside him. They wouldn't cuddle every time this happened, but Irving did stay close. This morning, he was sleeping as if Eugene hadn't pseudo-rejected him last night. Regardless, Eugene had to get up. It was already seven in the morning. He had places to be.
"Irving, wake up." Eugene patted Irving's shoulder. "Claude and I are going to visit his mother. Do you want to come with us? Pretty sure Len would attach himself to Claude again."
"Okay…" Irving murmured, slowly rising from the bed. When he opened his eyes, he caught Eugene merely seated on his side of the bed. The human was even yawning and stretching heavily from the log-like sleep. With his target in such a defenseless stance, Irving didn't know if he could go for it.
It was just that… Eugene brought his arms down before patting Irving's head. "Good morning, Irving. There shouldn't be too many people in the communal showers right now. Let's go."
