Chapter 42 - My Moonlight

From Chapter 18 (Unknown Past)

He tried to hold back the tears in his eyes.

"I swear I did everything to protect you I don't know what happened"

She looked at him in the eye and smiled.

"I know you tried to save me with everything you had, but this is fate, and I want you to stay away from me so that what happened to me doesn't happen to you"

He could not hold back his tears any longer and burst into tears like a little child and looked at her one last time "What should I do without you.. Don't leave me, please."

The shot zooms out as he stands under the moonlight in an empty place full of darkness and gloom. Even the only light he has is gone. He started crying and screaming like a madman, but he almost became like that. What is worse than being alone in front of the unknown. He became Zayran... Zayran the shadow knight

[ Battleground ]

From the swirling shadows at his command, Zayran conjured forth a serpent forged of pure darkness. Its eyes gleaming with malice, its fangs long and dripping with spectral venom. With a hiss that echoed like a curse through the air, the creature lunged at them with terrifying speed. Yet before it could strike, Orien raised his hand in calm defiance, summoning a radiant barrier of glistening ice. The shield blossomed like a frozen flower in the air, meeting the dark serpent with a sharp crack, and with effortless grace, the attack shattered against it, reduced to harmless wisps of shadow that drifted away on the cold wind. Just as the clash of powers reached its height, Rayan emerged from the shadows behind Zayran like a phantom, silent and swift. Channeling the very essence of darkness that once threatened to consume him, he shaped it into a blade as sharp as vengeance itself, and drove it toward Zayran's back with lethal precision. But before the strike could land, Zayran's voice rang out, low and calm, laced with eerie certainty: "I was expecting that." And in the blink of an eye, like smoke torn away by the wind. He vanished, leaving nothing but a fading whisper of his presence in the cold air.

Zayran emerged from the shadows like a curse whispered into the wind, his presence thick with menace. His voice, low and edged with malice, slithered through the air as he spoke behind Malrick.

"Ready to meet your fate?"

But before Zayran's hand could grasp him, Malrick dissolved into the darkness like smoke caught in a breeze. Gone in an instant, as if the very air had swallowed him whole. The world around them shifted. A suffocating darkness bled from Malrick's form, coiling like tendrils of ink through the battlefield, consuming the light. The air grew heavy. Sight became meaningless in the inky void he summoned.

And in the heart of that blindness, Orien moved.

With a motion as swift as a blade drawn in silence, Orien raised his arm and sent a surge of glacial power forward. Ice crackled, racing across the ground with unnatural speed. Before Zayran could react, the frost snared him. His limbs encased in jagged, shimmering crystal, frozen mid-step, as though time itself had paused to witness his downfall.

Then came the fire.

Rayan stepped forward like a rising storm, his eyes burning with fury, his soul ignited. Around him, the air shimmered with heat as an aura of fire erupted from his body. The flames spiraled upward, painting the sky in furious hues of crimson and gold. The heavens themselves seemed to recoil as the inferno roared, reaching toward the clouds with the fury of a vengeful Phoenix.

Every flicker, every tongue of flame bent toward one purpose: destruction.

Zayran, frozen and trapped, stood helpless as the fire answered Rayan's will. Like meteors from a scarlet sky, the flames rained down upon him, each strike fueled by wrath, each burst echoing with judgment. The night was lit with the blaze of reckoning, and the battlefield trembled beneath its fury.

"Zayran rose from the rubble, his body aching and blood trickling down his brow, yet his grin was unwavering. He took a slow, deliberate breath, eyes locked on his enemy, and with a voice that dripped with both mockery and menace, he said, "'I think we've danced long enough... now, let's kill each other."
