Professor Charles must have lost his research log during their relocation. A staff member had placed it in the warehouse with other materials, which is how Roy found it...
Though the log's contents didn't help his current situation, they helped Roy understand many things.
"Cosmog and the DNA Splicers must also be somewhere in this base," Roy speculated.
From the log entries, it appeared that after kidnapping Cade and the other students, the Illuminati team planned to negotiate with authorities and leave China directly.
To facilitate their escape, they would keep important items on their person.
'Items as valuable as Cosmog and the DNA Splicers would likely be kept by the Executive himself,' Roy thought, his expression contemplative.
Perhaps this rescue operation might yield unexpected rewards.
Setting down the research log, Roy continued searching for the ID card and soon found a green one in the third warehouse tent.
By now, it was already three o'clock in the morning.
Roy returned to the detention center where Axel was being held and used the ID card to open the iron cage.
Click!
Without any problems, the cage lock disengaged. The collar around Axel's neck also unlocked and fell to the ground.
With the life-threatening device removed, Axel excitedly walked out of the cage and gave Roy a big hug.
Roy pushed him away gently and said, "Axel, I need you to lead the others to wait in the tent. When you hear strong winds rising, rush out immediately and join me."
"No problem," Axel nodded.
Together they used the ID cards to free all the other captive students.
The students remained remarkably calm. To be admitted to Capital University as trainers, they were not just excellent but possessed exceptional composure—no one panicked during this critical moment.
Roy's reputation was enough to earn everyone's trust.
When they reached the other two detention tents, Roy repeated the process, appointing someone with good battling skills as temporary leader and explaining when to escape.
Soon, Roy arrived at the detention center housing the six experimental Pokémon.
The students warned that these Pokémon were extremely vigilant and hostile. They would likely attack humans as soon as they were released.
Especially the Elekid—the longest-surviving experimental subject.
Having endured the longest torture, it harbored the deepest resentment toward the Illuminati and showed extreme hostility toward humans in general.
Having come this far, Roy didn't want to fall short. Seeing Elekid's expression, he had a sudden inspiration:
"Do you want revenge?" he asked.
"Elekid?" The Electric Pokémon froze momentarily.
"The humans who captured you, hurt you, and abused you all belong to an organization called the Illuminati."
Roy used his Aura abilities to convey his emotions and thoughts.
He looked at Elekid seriously. "Don't misdirect your vengeance."
"We're on the same side. I also have a score to settle with the Illuminati."
Elekid's eyes showed internal conflict, but soothed by Roy's Aura, it began thinking clearly. The Pokémon remembered the Max Potion Roy had tossed over earlier—it had been left on the ground, ignored by everyone.
Suddenly, Elekid grabbed the Potion and sprayed it on its wounds.
The potent healing formula took effect immediately—its forehead tingled as the wounds closed in seconds.
"Elekid!"
Elekid nodded earnestly at Roy.
"Good."
Roy understood its meaning and moved to open the cages holding the experimental Pokémon.
When one of them lunged violently toward the humans, Elekid struck it with a lightning-fast punch, knocking it down, then roared several warnings.
The other Pokémon immediately adopted submissive postures.
'Such impressive attack speed...' Roy thought, slightly surprised.
He was no rookie trainer; he could assess a Pokémon's general ability level at a glance.
Elekid's strike exceeded what you'd typically expect from a novice-level Pokémon.
Such strength was rare among wild Pokémon.
Seeing that Elekid had intimidated the others, Roy turned and left, heading to the area between two tents where over 120 volatile Electrode were being held. He took out a Poké Ball.
"Dragonite—"
"Whirlwind them all into the sky!"
A flash of light revealed the four-meter-tall Dragonite before Roy.
"BRROOO!"
Dragonite let out a gentle cry and nodded obediently. It reached down, picked up Roy, and placed him on its back.
But in the next moment, Dragonite's actions completely shattered its 'gentle' reputation!
With a single powerful beat of its wings, the Illuminati's "order" was instantly destroyed. Invisible forces gathered into a mighty gale, sweeping everything nearby skyward!
A massive Twister rose toward the heavens.
The clouds parted before the powerful winds, and the agitated Electrode released their electrical energy one after another, triggering Explosion.
BOOM!
Tremendous thunder and lightning roared across the sky as ten enormous mushroom clouds bloomed overhead.
The power certainly rivaled conventional intercontinental missiles.
Such commotion immediately triggered sirens throughout the Illuminati base, with shouts coming from every direction.
"Who's there?!"
"Intruders! The students are escaping!"
"Release the Pokémon! Enemy attack!"
When the students heard the wind, they all rushed out and looked up at Roy on Dragonite's back—he had become their rallying point.
"Quick! Get behind Dragonite!" Roy commanded.
The students quickly took shelter behind the Dragonite. Soon, Illuminati members arrived, each releasing their primary battle Pokémon.
Thousands of Pokémon surrounded Dragonite, Roy, and the students.
"Kill them!" The Illuminati Executive ordered coldly.
At his command, thousands of Pokémon unleashed their ranged attacks simultaneously.
Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Dark Pulse, Acid, Energy Ball...
Various elemental energies filled the sky in a colorful display, all bombarding toward Dragonite.
Through his Aura perception, Roy could sense the intensity of each energy beam was no less powerful than the Alakazam and Muk he'd encountered previously, each exceeding C+ level strength.
Although energies of different Types couldn't merge, their combined power was absolutely devastating—like facing the full barrage of ten modern armies at once!
In that moment, Roy felt an incomparably dominating aura rising from the Dragonite beneath him, its eyes glowing red.
Outrage!
The draconic energy emanating from Dragonite was more violent than any Type energy Roy had ever witnessed, exuding supreme dominance.
Fueled by Outrage, Dragonite maintained perfect control, opened its mouth, and unleashed its move.
Draco Meteor!
The comet-like energy completed condensation and release in an instant.
The dragon star exploded, transforming into countless meteors streaking through the sky.
The enemy's thousands of attacks were incinerated by the meteors in a heartbeat before the barrage continued toward the thousands of opposing Pokémon.
For the Illuminati members, despair descended in that moment.
BOOM!
Terrifying heat spread across the entire ice surface, melting everything. Water vapor rose as mist into the night sky.
With a single attack, Dragonite had neutralized the enemy's combined assault, melted the ice of the entire lake, and defeated all opponents at once.
After this display, Dragonite's Outrage state calmed without requiring even a single breath. The confusion side effect never manifested as the Pokémon immediately returned to its gentle demeanor.
Roy sat on Dragonite's back, surveying the scene.
This was the true power of a Champion-level Dragon-type unleashed without restraint.
Unstoppable from any direction.
One Pokémon forming an army unto itself.
Single-handedly capable of challenging a nation.
This brief battle with Dragonite gave Roy a glimpse of what it meant to stand among the world's top Trainers.
Beyond Champion level, what would a true 'Master'—a level no one had achieved—be capable of?
Roy felt excitement building within him, filled with anticipation and imagination... Since arriving in this world, wouldn't it be a shame if he didn't redefine people's understanding of "the peak"?
