"Mrs Bridget can I have some chicken wings and rice am going back with it and some avocado salad pie, thank you for the meal _ someone is been selfish refusing to let you come cook for me" Vanessa told Mrs Bridget while sneering at her brother whom she has asked several times for Mrs Bridget to come be her chef.
" I won't let her, not now not ever" Edward James eating his meal majestically.
"But young mistress I didn't make the food" Mrs Bridget said to which surprised everyone except Edward James.
"If you didn't who did then_ was it ordered?" Vanessa asked but Edward scoffed at her
"Now the food is in your system you want to know how and who made it, Mrs Bridget thanks but you shouldn't reveal who did" Edward instructed to which Vanessa rolled her eyes
"Such a bully and a selfish one at that" she said.
Kristen has been observing his friend Edward James since he came down for dinner, Edward has been so chatty and smiled more even though it wasn't that visible and he has placed a side dish on Maria's plate on one or two occasions.
"Dude, am sure there have been some progress in the industry, which means we should be hoping for sun rise" Kristen said to Edward briefly looking at Maria Moore then back to him, to everyone else Kristen was talking about work but to Edward James he knew he was referring to Maria Moore.
"I hope so but there's a rise" Edward said now sipping his drink.
"Are you spending the night, it's been a while you came around" Maria said to Vanessa
"No am not staying I need to cuddle with my baby and also I don't want to be a third party between you both" Vanessa said looking at the direction of his brother, Maria blushed but still didn't admit anything.
"We're not dating Essa, we're just good friends and he's my boss now" Maria told her but off course Essa didn't buy her excuse.
"He's a good and caring guy but he's cold when provoked_ if you ask me, in my next life who do I want for a sibling, I'll pick him over and over again" Essa said.
"What about me babe?" Kristen asked, which means he heard what she said. It was then the ladies new both guys were now behind them.
"You'll always be my sugar hubby" she told her husband who dramatically touched his chest joyfully.
Edward saw them out to their car while Maria helped Mrs Bridget to clear up the table.
"Maria can you come over for a bit please" Edward James called out to her. "Okay, five sec please". Maria replied before going to wash her hands.
" I got you something, come it's in my study" Edward James said as he opens the door to his study. This was the first time Maria is coming into his private space, she didn't know his study was inside his bedroom. Well not actually the way you're thinking but it was fashioned like a suite, having his study first then his gym which has some musical instruments and also his painting section then, his bedroom which has the washroom and walk-in closet and a balcony.
If the doors to this places isn't opened you won't know.
" Here _ let me help you with that" he said opening a little box which holds a tiny gold necklace with a heart pendant.
"This is beautiful thank you_ but I can't accept it am sorry" Maria told him causing a flicker of emotion to pass through him.
With ease Edward James threw it in the trash can "it's of no use keeping it then" he said and Maria was stunned even more, though she has tasted wealth but she knew how difficult it is to work for it.
"You don't have to throw away sure a beautiful piece" Maria said
" It's nothing probably it's not to your taste_ thanks for the meal tonight but I don't want you going into the kitchen anymore or get involved with any domestic work, there are staffs for that" Edward James told her as he masked up his feelings of rejection.
"I'll be bord if_" Maria was saying
"Then you come to the company or go to the ranch better still you can go to your friends" Edward James said interrupting her.
"Okay_ good night" Maria Moore said and left the study immediately she closed the door Edward punched on the wall causing his arm to bleed.
