80.
Amelia's POV
We entered the building, I was free steps away from him as I tried to wipe my dampened face and appear less pathetic.
Next, we got into an elevator. I could see the other ladies with us, gossiping about how cute, good-looking and rich Alessandro was.
And even when a particular fool amongst them tried to step out, she deliberately missed some steps and fell in Alessandro's arms.
I cleared my throat as I saw they were talking too much time and it had started to look like a scene from some of those Korean love movies.
Their closeness was getting in my nerves. I balled my fists, trying not to appear provoked.
I might just snap their heads off very soon if they didn't pull away from eachother!
They remained close. Was Alessandro doing this in purpose?.
He took a glance at me and I looked away.
Flirt!
What did he think he was doing? Did he intentionally bring me with him so I could watch him cuddle with other women?
"Hah, thank you for grabbing me at the right moment, sir." The lady grinned as she stood straight and tucked her hair away shyly.
Alessandro tucked his hands in his pockets, a smile tugging at his lips. "Elevator accident are now rampant nowadays so it's my duty to make sure none happens while I'm present." He flashed a warm smile at her and the fool kept grinning.
"Thank you, sir. You're such a lovely man." She winked at him before slipping a note out of her breast pocket. "We might need too talk away from here." She handed it over to him and he took it.
He fucking allowed her? While I was here? What did I even mean to him? Nothing?
As soom as we were the only one left in the elevator, I snatched the paper from him and tore it off.
"What's the meaning of this?" I scoffed, sending the pieces flying in the air. "You don't even care that I'm watching you while you go around flirting shamelessly with a girl you just met in an elevator?"
"Let's keep it official, Ms. Miller." He said and I gasped, my mouth widened in surprise. Did he just push me away? Was I taking things too personal?
"Right now you're just my assistant and you shouldn't interfere in your boss's matters, should you?" He raised his brows at me, fixing his cufflinks. I moved closer, grabbing his tie.
"You can't be serious, Alessandro. When did I become your assistant out of the blue?!"
"It's Mr DeMarco, for you, Ms Miller." He corrected and I froze further.
Just how many things did he want me to be? I was his slave, his hacker and now his fucking assistant too!
"Move." His voice was thick. I was literally crying, what did I even know about this new job?
"We're meeting Matthew Bianchi. One of my business partners." He informed me as we approached the boardroom. "Stay professional, okay?"
Damn.
New problems everyday.
"Ai, good to see you, DeMarco." A man who looked quite older stood up immediately we walked in, a smile tugging at his lips. Alessandro smiled back and took his seat.
The man's gaze fell on me and I nodded with a fake one smile. He should be Alessandro's business partner.
"Hello, Mr Bianchi. It's nice to see you. I'd Mr DeMarco's assistant for no.."
"Sit, Ms Miller." Alessandro snapped, interrupting me. I groaned inwardly and took a seat beside him. "Can we discuss further about the surveys, Bianchi?"
The other man's smile never left his face and I wondered why he still kept it. His eyes never left Alessandro's and there seemed to be an hint of adoration in his eyes.
What was this?
Bianchi's assistant handed over the files needed and I went through it absentmindedly, stealing glances at Bianchi.
"What a nice haircut you've got there. But I really loved it when it was much longer."
I frowned, looking at Alessandro. Bianchi's comments were disturbing.
Did he have a crush on this idiot here? Definitely not.
Alessandro ran his fingers along his healthy locks, smirking at me. His hands moved under the table where he rubbed his palm up my thigh.
I parted my lips, giving him a 'what are you doing' look but he didn't get my message. Instead he squeezed my thigh, sliding his hand up to raise my skirt.
I shifted uncomfortably, faking a cough. "Um, Mr DeMarco. You might want to give a reply on what Mr Bianchi has said." I gestured towards the other guy whose smile still rested on his lips like a dove perched on a tree branch.
Why did he keep looking at Alessandro like that?
"Uh? What did he say?" Alessandro turned to look at me. "I wasn't paying attention, could you please...give a recap?" He flashed a smirk at me and that was when I got the message he had been trying to preach to me indirectly.
He brought me here to interpret his crush's compliments?
He didn't know he could get me jealous that I'd want to break his head and even Bianchi's?
"You should ask Mr Bianchi yourself, boss. Besides I don't think we should go back to that. Let's proceed with the abandoned discussion." I said, secretly rolling my eyes at Alessandro. I slapped off his hand as he tried to touch my lap again and he chuckled.
"Ah, very well then." Bianchi's assistant spoke up, gesturing towards the projector which I hadn't noticed before now. "These are the estimated ratios of the success rates for previous projects on the site. This is for the last two years and this...for a year ago."
Alessandro nodded. "Looks…. impressive but with this collaboration I know we can make additional progress compared to the previous ones."
"What do you think, Mr Bianchi?" I asked but the poor man wasn't paying attention to me rather, his eyes were plastered on Alessandro's lips.
Ah, so blinded by love. A love that would ruin them both.
I drifted my gaze to Alessandro who kept licking his lips. I knew he was doing it intentionally. He was aware of Bianchi's craziness over him and he knew I would get jealous when the matter drools over him.
"This meeting isn't held for you to simply sit and lick your lips, Mr Alessandro DeMarco." I smiled at him but beneath the 'gracious' look was a death glare. "What's so special about getting them wet? Are you trying to impress anyone or it's just as newly invented hobby?"
