"Big brother!"

Uzumaki Naruto spotted Sasame and dragged an unwilling Uchiha Sasuke along as he ran over.

"This is my new friend, Uchiha Sasuke! He's a super-talented genius!"

"I'm not your friend!" Sasuke interjected irritably. "You're just an obstacle on my path as a shinobi. One day, I'll leave you in the dust!"

"You two get along pretty well," Sasame couldn't help but laugh.

This version of Uchiha Sasuke—one who hadn't yet experienced the massacre of his clan—was still relatively normal. Thanks to his endless rivalry with Naruto, he had enrolled in the Academy early but lost every sparring match decisively. Naturally, this left him frustrated.

"Sasuke, let me introduce you—"

Naruto, familiar with his temperament, simply ignored his complaints.

"Don't bother." Sasuke shoved his hands in his pockets and tilted his chin up. "He's my brother's friend. I probably knew him before you did."

Boys. Even the smallest things turn into competitions.

"Where's your brother? Didn't he come to pick you up?" Sasame glanced around. It was already dismissal time, but there was no sign of Uchiha Itachi.

"He's busy these days. My mom picks me up instead."

Sasuke's expression darkened slightly. Compared to his mother, he much preferred his brother.

Just then, a bearded shinobi appeared before the three of them.

Before Sasame could wonder who he was, Naruto called out, "Uncle Sarutobi!"

"I'm Sarutobi Seinosuke," the man said with a smile. "You must be Sasame, right? The old man at home talks about you often."

Old man? And a Sarutobi…

Wait, is this Sarutobi Hiruzen's eldest son—the mysterious, never-mentioned father of Sarutobi Konohamaru?

Sasame blinked in surprise.

Naruto added, "He's the Hokage's son and my current Wind Style teacher."

Makes sense.

Having his own son train the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki was a perfectly logical move.

Thanks to Sasame's interference, Naruto had enrolled early and displayed a talent for Wind Style. Currently, the strongest Wind Style user in Konoha was Shimura Danzō—but Hiruzen would never allow that. Hatake Kakashi, while skilled, specialized in the Sharingan and Lightning Style, which wasn't a good fit.

After some deliberation, the task had fallen to Sarutobi Seinosuke.

"See you later, big brother!"

Naruto left with Seinosuke, leaving only Sasuke behind.

Sasame stayed, having already spotted Uchiha Mikoto. He decided to greet her.

"Aunt Mikoto."

"Sasame? It's been a while." Mikoto seemed surprised. "How is Lady Tsunade doing?"

"She's doing well—no shortage of food or clothes."

His response made Mikoto laugh.

"That's an amusing way to put it." She gently patted Sasuke's head. "I need to get back and make dinner. Let's talk again when we have time."

Sasame watched them leave before heading home.

The next day.

Morning was spent training in Sage Mode, while the afternoon took him to the Uma Gambling Den.

After replenishing his chakra, he slipped into a nearby forest to train his ocular prowess—with Uzumaki Ena as his sparring partner.

Her skills were nothing to scoff at now. Backed by immense chakra reserves and newly learned sealing techniques, she could easily rank as a Special Jōnin.

"Come at me."

Sasame activated his Sharingan, three tomoe spinning in his crimson eyes.

For basic ocular training, the Mangekyō wasn't necessary.

"Be careful."

Ena immediately hurled six shuriken in rapid succession, their trajectories erratic and dizzying. But to Sasame's eyes, they moved sluggishly. He dodged with ease and raised a hand.

"Use the Shadow Clone Technique."

A single Ena wasn't enough for proper training.

But when nine of her appeared, Sasame started struggling.

By the afternoon, he bore several "badges of honor"—minor injuries that Ena, though not a medical-nin, could easily heal thanks to her innate recovery abilities.

That night.

At a yakiniku restaurant, Sasame was packing takeout for Hyūga Hinata when he ran into an old acquaintance: Akimichi Shitō, the jōnin their squad had rescued during the Konoha-Kumogakure war.

"Sasame!"

Shitō's round face broke into a guileless grin. "Let me pay for this."

"Uncle Shitō, you don't have to—"

"Nonsense! If not for you, I wouldn't even be alive to eat yakiniku!" He turned to the owner with exaggerated bravado. "Put it on my tab!"

"Sure thing!"

The owner, familiar with the Akimichi clan's patronage, cheerfully announced, "That'll be 120,000 ryō."

"…What?"

Shitō nearly stumbled.

"I've got it."

Noticing his expression, Sasame paid first.

Jōnin might seem well-off, but their finances were tight. An S-rank mission paid upwards of a million ryō—but those were rare.

As for why the bill was so high? Hinata's appetite had grown again.

"No, no! I insist!"

Shitō waved his hands frantically. The debt of a life wasn't something he could ignore, even if his wallet wept.

"Uncle Shitō, if you really want to thank me… how about teaching me a jutsu instead?"

The idea struck Sasame suddenly.

"Of course!" Shitō thumped his chest. "What do you want to learn?"

"Partial Multi-Size Technique."

Ideally, Sasame would've asked for the full Multi-Size Technique, but that was an Akimichi clan secret. The simplified version would suffice.

Shitō hesitated briefly.

Even the partial technique wasn't meant to be shared. But Sasame had saved his life, was Tsunade's student, and posed no risk to Konoha.

Besides, the Akimichi's true core lay in their secret pills—their forbidden clan drugs. The Partial Multi-Size Technique alone wasn't a game-changer.

"Alright." He nodded. "When are you free?"

"Tomorrow at 1 PM, Training Ground 4?"

Sasame exhaled in relief.

The Partial Multi-Size Technique enlarged a single body part, with the scale depending on chakra reserves. Combined with his Sage Body, it would be devastating.

[Due to your actions, Tsunade's fate has shifted. You earn 6 Fate Points.]

[Due to your actions, Hyūga Hinata's fate has shifted. You earn 6 Fate Points.]

[Due to your actions, Karin's fate has shifted. You earn 6 Fate Points.]

Sasame's eyes widened.

Seriously?

This counts as changing fate? And three sixes?

All he could say was—hell yeah.

After parting ways with Shitō, he returned home before using the Reverse Summoning Technique to appear before Hinata.

By now, she was used to his nightly visits and no longer startled easily.

"Sasame-nii."

Her smile was sweet, tinged with shyness—but her heart swelled with happiness.

These days, seeing Sasame was the highlight of her grueling routine. Between relentless training, her father's disappointed stares, and Neji's cold indifference, his presence was a balm.

"Yakiniku tonight."

Sasame ruffled her hair. "Tomorrow, I'll bring chicken legs."

For some reason, Hinata adored chicken legs. In another world, she'd have been a "KFC Thursday" fanatic.

"Mmm… so good…"

Between bites, she mumbled, "I-I'll pay you back someday…"

She meant the food expenses.

Sasame paused.

Right. This Hinata is the real rich girl.

Tsunade's wealth? A myth.

Her debts were still unpaid—absurd, really. Worse, she avoided the Uma Gambling Den, claiming it wasn't "exciting" enough, preferring other establishments.

Truly, the grass is always greener.

While Sasame wouldn't mind being a kept man, he believed in pulling his weight.

Besides, spoiling Hinata? Pocket change.
