Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 10

"Gosh, I totally understood nothing!" Harmony exclaimed as I walked out of our classroom after our first subject, which was Math.

"What do you mean? today's topic was quite easy," Micah said. We all turned to look at her and look sarcastically.

None of us get offended by the way we look and talk it's like were close enough to understood each other.

"Nah! You're just a smart girl," Jad said, and we all agreed. "By the way, see ya later! We have to deal with this planting stuff now," he said as he bid us goodbye and left with Harmony, holding each other's hands. The others did the same.

"Same, I've got some wiring to take care of," Micah said.

"I'll go with you, Mic. The cookery room is along the way anyway," Reina said. The two of them said goodbye to me, and I just nodded. I also left in a hurry because my next class, which is Computer class, is located in the next building—and mind you, on the second floor.

The five of us are classmates in only some subjects. The classes we all share are Math, Science, History, and our major class. But for this Livelihood subject, the four of us are in different sections: Jad and Harmony are in Agriculture, Micah is in Electricity, Reina is in Cookery, and I'm in Computer class. This wasn't our choice; it was randomly assigned on the day of enrollment.

My class starts at 9:00, but our professor gives a 20-minute extension, especially for those coming from other buildings. I arrived at 9:13 AM and looked for a random seat. I saw RJ and chose to sit beside him. I'm not really close with most people here, though.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked before moving the chair. He just shook his head, so I sat beside him.

"First time seeing you here. Are you always absent?" he suddenly asked. For some reason, that question startled me.

"No! I'm always present during Computer class. I just usually sit at the back. This is my first time sitting here in front," I exclaimed. I opened my phone and started scrolling through my socials.

"Oh, I didn't know. I always sit up front," he said. I just nodded. Then a girl, about my height, approached him.

"RJ, your lunch—" she paused, glanced at me, and smiled. "Hi! I'm Shan. I always see you at the back. What made you sit here in front today?" she asked. I just looked at her as my insecurities started to take over.

She's the same height as me, but I'd say she looks much better. Her face is perfectly round, with evenly shaped eyebrows and long eyelashes. She has strong features but a sweet personality. And how come she has such big boobs? I'm jealous. I swallowed all the jealous thoughts I had about this girl in front of me, when I was snapped out of my imagination.

"W-well, j-just call me Mary. I just decided to sit here for a change," I stammered. Gosh, what's with my voice?

"Nice to meet you, Mary. Hopefully we get to talk more," she said before continuing to walk to the back. She seems close with Dina my classmate back in grade 7.

"Were you two close?" I suddenly asked RJ, just out of curiosity.

"No, but we've known each other...like forever," he said. I gave him a confused look. "We're cousins," he clarified. I just nodded as i realized. They do have strong features.

Our professor arrived right on time, so we all opened our gadgets and started working on the activity he gave us. It was quite easy, unlike the one he gave last time that really hurt my brain.

"Well, that's all everyone! See you tomorrow," he said as he was about to leave.

"When are we going to start the project?" I asked.

"Maybe this weekend."

"Just message me the time and place," I replied. He nodded and left.

"Shan! We're thst cousin of yours had always been mad? or I just picked the wrong date"

"He wasn't mad that's just his normal..." I nodded and left the room.

After that class, we had an hour and a half break. I saw my friends' messages saying we'd meet at the back of the school to try using the book. This was Jad's idea—he wanted to see what cool things it could do.

It took me a while to get to our meeting place because I was looking for my favorite eraser. I really like that pencil eraser, and I bought it at such a good price.

"Where is it?" I desperately searched for it, but I was interrupted when my professor said he had to leave and needed to lock the door. I had no choice but to leave without finding my eraser.

On my way to the back, I had to walk through the garden.

That's when I saw Miro, with his friend and a girl. It's been months since I saw that girl with him, but today, there she was again—holding an umbrella for Miro while he fed her bread. They looked happy. They were laughing, smiling.

I couldn't help but feel jealous. That's one of my dreams—the dream I waited for, for over two years. He never gave me a clear answer. He didn't reject me, but he didn't accept me either. So I assumed. I hoped.

Yes, I admit it. I've liked Miro for two years now, and I've been waiting that long for him to recognize my efforts. When I confessed to him, I made it clear that I'd stop liking him the moment he had someone special. And now, seeing this—I've decided to let go of my feelings for him. It's for the better, and for everyone's peace of mind.

I like him, yes. But I can't force someone to choose me—especially when I was never even an option.

I just hope he's happy with his girl now. And I hope that girl knows how lucky she is. She's living the dream I always wished was mine.
