The next thing Jess realizes when he regains consciousness is that he's back in bed, at home.
His body feels heavy, like it's been drained of all its strength. A sharp wave of dizziness crashes over him, and his vision blurs.
Confusion clouds his thoughts, disorienting him. Beside him, perched too comfortably, is Eryx, a broad, satisfied smile plastered on his face, his eyes glinting with triumph.
Before Jess can even open his mouth to ask what's happened, nausea strikes him like a hammer to the gut.
He scrambles off the bed, practically stumbling into the bathroom.
In the bedroom, Eryx listens with barely contained excitement. He murmurs to himself, grinning, "That was fast... it's already planted in the uterus. The Moon Goddess works faster than I thought. It won't take long now before we have that glorious baby."
