After returning to the other members of the crew, Theobald expressed his disagreement with the decision to leave the king and the others in the midst of the evil cultists, as Alister knew.
"We can't do that?"
"What if they discover our true identity and harm the king?"
"Who will be there to protect him? I am sorry, my friend, Alister. I can agree with everything else, but not this one. I cannot leave the king alone."
Theobald spoke solemnly.
The other soldiers backed the captain. They were terrified of being alone without the hero, the wizard, or the captain at their side and felt helpless.
They knew they were strong enough to fight even average humans or other trained soldiers without much difficulty. But against wizards, they were utterly powerless—without any warning, one simple spell from any wizard could instantly end their life, even without the caster coming near.
