The world felt so far away for Cecilia. She tried to open her eyes. Her vision was blurry, so she couldn't see anything but the shadows moving around her.

Cecilia felt herself coughing again while her body started to get cold. The smell of blood and tea still lingered in her mouth. Her breath was short as if the air refused to enter her lungs.

Cecilia heard her father's panicked voice mixed with worry, which was then answered by her doctor. Cecilia felt like laughing. She was poisoned. This was the first time the Blaine Kingdom had used poison to kill her.
