Chapter 15 - Chapter 3 (Volume 2) - Prodigy or Genius?

"You wish to learn about arcana?" Spoke Dan, as Adam nodded,

"Yes, father. I wish to learn about it." He said, as the man sighed, he didn't think his son would worry about such things.

'Aren't children meant to run around and be silly little things? What's with Adam...?' Dan wondered,

'What if... No, he isn't... Can he? They did say that babies remember, even if they're firstborn... No, that can't be it.' Dan pushes the thoughts aside.

"Well... Unfortunately, I don't have the qualifications to teach arcana. But..." Dan puts his hand up a little, as blue energy turns green, as...

"Fwoosh!" A gust of wind was seen, as Adam looked at it, impressed.

'It's like Alissia's winds...'

"Arcana is the convergence of arcana to whatever your mind puts it to. That's magic or spells. Anything you can think of can happen. I just so happen to follow the path of the Sky and use it to my advantage." Dan said, bringing out a book, old-looking yet regal. Like a thick dictionary from old times.

"Huh...?" Adam grew curious about it.

"This is a spellbook. Filled with magical spells, or specifically, Skyfolk magics. While it won't do much... I think you'll find interest in it… Interesting." Dan said, as Adam nodded,

"Thank you, Father." He took the book...

***

'It's all the same stuff.' Adam reads it, it's the book from his world. It had the concepts he wrote about personally. How arcana works, how to use it, etc. Even the originator of it is here! He just can't seem to use it.

'Am I really out of my league? I can usually use it... But this is different.' Adam tried his hardest, but it's like a boulder is stopping him! It can't move.

"It can't move..." Adam spoke to himself... As he imagines it... Yet nothing.

"You need a clear visual command... It's like moving water..." Adam thinks...

But...

"!!!" His eyes opened,

"Moving water... No, I am... Right!" Adam realized something. Unlike his domain, where his mind does the work, and waters move to his command, since he's some chosen one to inherit the Earth Guardian's power...

"I might be able to do something if I FORCE it to move! Yes! I forgot all about it!" Adam laughed to himself as he positioned himself forward at a wall... The sun rays down as he puts out his hand, thinking...

'I must think like an immovable object... That's how I can invoke whatever power I was given as one of the chosen ones...' Adam thinks, as he forces the arcana to move...

'Move...' He ordered, as a brown glow surrounded him instead of a blue one. It swirls as a rock formed from seemingly nowhere.

"!!!" Adam noticed it, as...

"Hng!" He forced it forward, as...

"Ping..." The rock hits the ground, as if he were just throwing a pebble,

"That's a start..." Adam had to write this down! HE HAD TO-

"Eh hem." He clears his throat.

'Almost got carried away there.' He had a HUGE tendency to just write things down. Document every discovery, moment, etc. He was the demigod of knowledge after all.

'So arcana does work based on whatever you do with it...' Adam thinks that this was a huge discovery. Back home, the demigods assumed they used arcana in the same way their companions used them. But it might be different than expected.

'This might contribute to why I am not as skilled with it as initially thought... I wonder how Oakamo works with his domain...' Adam wondered, but he had a mission. As he looked around, he noticed no natural earth.

'It's a start, but I need to find something more natural...' He thinks as he enters the Lowel manor. A grand manor filled with servants. It spans almost a football field, maybe a little over half, or as big as a small scaled football field. It was about four, maybe five stories high and contained plenty of rooms. But seemingly nobody.

'Is this the rich person's lifestyle to just buy the best homes?' Adam wondered, as in the previous simulation, the king did have a large palace. It was filled with decorations made of gold and bronze, a mix and match, but still a large home. But looking around some more...

'Did father have to buy this? Seems like a waste of money if they won't have children.' Doninael did have plenty of children-

'!!!' Adam realized...

'Holy gods... DO THEY PLAN ON HAVING MORE KIDS!?!' Adam grew shocked, worried, and nervous, but hopeful.

'What if they bring them here!?! What if-!' Then a sudden flash of memories rushes... The six demigods... Below them are four more godly figures. Immortals but not godly.

Talaham, Immortal of Seasons.

Merlot, Immortal of Wine.

Calypso, Immortal of Love and Romance.

Koma, Immortal of Protection.

These four Immortals are those who are immortal but don't hold the title of a demigod or a god. Think of it as the first stage of becoming a godly figure. They're immortal, so they're not a mortal being, but not a godly being like a demigod, and far from a god.

Talaham, the Immortal of Seasons, guides the seasons along. They're essentially the embodiment of them, and his mood changes much of what is to come.

Merlot, the Immortal of Wine. His entire thing is making the best-tasting wine and is the eternal rival of Dionysus, the God of Wine. Dionysus also governs celebration and such, but unlike Merlot, Dionysus' wine gives off the most intoxicating effects. While it is the best part of any drink, Merlot doesn't do that as much as making his wine taste good. From time to time, they bicker over some "claim" over a drink or the texture and such.

How? Simulation of course. He brings them each other's wine as an errand for the two of them.

Calypso, the Immortal of Love and Romance. Adam found her on an island inside the other god's domain. He felt bad for her, so he brought her to their realm by using his divine powers to forge her a suitable body for her to inhabit. Now she is an Immortal of Love and Romance and brings whoever she feels fit together. This angered the gods, obviously, from Greek, so he spent a good few decades just fending off their wrath. This, however, made Calypso fall for him in some form.

Not the best thing knowing she trapped one person on her island for SEVEN YEARS.

Lastly, Koma. The Immortal of Protection. Like his Greek counterpart, he works similarly. Granting those worthy divine protection and even offering others immortality by working alongside him. Koma at least has five warriors, from men to women. Two men and three women. They work as his messengers, guides for those who are deemed worthy by him, and have a system more so than the other demigods. Dominael is considering making one of his six demigod children into a god to allow Koma to become a demigod in their place. More specifically, his oldest daughter, Junala. The Demigod of War. After all, her domain is the most expanded, with Alaric's being the second.

It has been a few months since then,

Zariah became pregnant. Since then...

"..." Adam grew stronger. He had to improvise, so he formed rocks out of his arcana. Unable to leave the home, he practiced in secluded locations like the outside, his room, and even as he bathed.

Since those few months have passed... He became stronger.

'Usually, at the age of 13, a child is sent to an academy to learn how to control their arcana. There, by the age of 15, they're sent to the military or work as a teacher for those who wish to become one of them in the near future. However, most work in the military, whether poor or rich. Very few, however, influence them to get out of those destinies set out for them.' Adam thinks that, being almost 6 years old, he was striving to become a teacher. But... His fate might be unsealed the moment the time is right.

As the chosen one for the Earth Guardian's power, who knows when things might take a turn for the worse? What if...

'What if...' Adam hopes he isn't going to do this at a young age. The priest said that 50,000 years after the new dragons rise, humans will be born to inherit their power. But it isn't at the 50,000 mark, but that's when they'll pop up. When dead, a new one will be born, until the next set of six carries the world into a new era.

A new dawn, a new era of prosperity.

***

Junala was born, or...

"June Lowel." Spoke Zariah. Then the next...

Alice Lowel. Gabriel Lowel. Junala Lowel. Elaine Lowel. Okama Lowel.

It has been 7 years since then, Alaric... or Adam, is 12 years old.

June, being the second, is 7 years old. Alice 6, Gabriel 5, Elaine 2, and Okama is 1.

By then... Alaric, being 12, shows significant growth.

"Father." And he stood in front of Dan.

"Hm?" Looking at some paperwork, the older man looked at his son,

"What seems to be the problem, Adam?" Dan wondered, putting the papers aside,

"I wish to be admitted into the Castalix Arcana Academy." He said that, as Dan is quite surprised, he said that,

"The Castalix Arcana Academy... You wish to be administered there? Not to stay here? We can pay for the-"

"I wish to be administered. Isn't your role as father supposed to be supporting your children's goals?" Adam wondered,

"?" Dan is surprised he has such a tongue.

"Yes... But you know how the academy is. Besides, I see you took up sword lessons, even dabbled in the arts and crafts. I can give you a workshop, even-"

"I still wish to be administered," Adam said, as Dan looked at him...

'Is this the prophecy he was given?' Since then, he has visited the priest, Ulon, many times. He asked for any signs, any prophecy given to the child... And at his 3rd birthday...

"He will stride the path unforeseen yet unresentful. He will stride this path filled with obstacles that nobody at his age should do. Then, he will complete the trial and rise as the Earth Guardian."

That prophecy... Is this the first part of it?

"... Alright. But remember, it's only for those of the age of-"

"I still wish to be administered." He said, as Adam was going to that academy, whether Dan liked it or-

"There's a process for those who enter the academy early, son. They need skill, talent, none at that age can easily process arcana so-"

"!!!" Dan's eyes widened as a brown swirling glow surrounded the child,

"Arcana...!" Dan's eyes widened, as this arcana... It's...

Stronger than his own...

"I have trained since I was able to walk, Father. For 9 years, I studied and even utilized my arcana in ways no other 12-year-old should be capable of." Adam said, as his piercing green eyes... That green scaly glow...

"..." Dan watched... It's as if in front of a general, that's how strong it is...

"... D-Do you know about your destiny, Adam?" Dan wondered, as Adam looked at him... Then nodded.

"I remembered it since I was a young baby." He explained, as Dan looked at him, saddened...

"Did you, too, receive a prophecy of sorts...? When of age... A chosen one would receive their prophecy when at the right age... Did you see it?" Dan wondered,

'Prophecy? No, I didn't...' Adam thinks to himself.

"No. I never received such things." Adam said, as Dan smiled just a bit.

"When the time is right... You will receive a prophecy. It will be when a chosen one passes one of the three parts of that prophecy. For example, the Guardian of Life... She would be born filled with life, will go around the world to spread that lifeforce, and rise as that guardian. Many are easier than the others... But..." Dan was going to say it... But he can't.

"You, too, will receive that prophecy sometime in your future. For now... Seems like I have a message for Janus of the academy."

'!!!' Janus... Adam remembers that name.

'Does that mean Lola, Fran, and Lukas are here too?' He wondered, as his arcana resided, the green glow vanished.

"Sigh..." Dan sits back in his chair, as he soon writes a report, but as he was about to call his servant...

"Why don't I deliver the message?" Adam offered,

"Hm? Oh, you don't know the way, I am sure of it. Besides, the Castalix Arcana Academy is located within the 1st Circle of the kingdom. We've never-"

"I... Read about the various locations in the 1st Circle. I am sure I can find the academy quickly and faster than most." Adam offered, as Dan cocked up an eyebrow,

"..." But he sighed, nothing surprises him much anymore when it comes to his son.

"I suspect you to be back within a few hours, before dinner." He ordered, and...

"Here." He places a small pouch of coins in his hand,

"If you wish to buy something, the marketplace might have something you might want to buy. So spend your coin wisely."

"... Right." Adam soon took the bag... And... He was going to deliver this to the academy itself.
