Chapter 32 - Chapter 30

While Erika was lost in her thoughts, she ran one of her fingers over a small purple rose engraved on the same note.

The omega, realizing her state, shook her head slightly and, wanting to focus on something to get out of it, decided to read what was in the note.

____________

Greetings, dear and beautiful Erika.

You don't know me yet, but I did have the great pleasure of meeting you, and while I didn't get to meet you as much as I would have liked, however brief it was, it was more than enough to make me realize that you are worth 100% of my time.

Since I saw you that night, I haven't been able to get you out of my mind. Your beauty traps me like a trap that, despite seeing it, I haven't been able to avoid. And not that I would have if I could have.

Where several people failed, investing time and effort to catch my momentary gaze, you not only managed to capture my full attention, but you also managed to prevail in my thoughts.

You and I are connected in a way I can't explain with words, as it would fall short. Soon, I will make you mine, Erika Belion. Until then, I ask that you prepare yourself.

P.S. .... don't mistake this for simple affection or wonder... I'm coming for you in search of pure affection.

Your Alpha W.A.

Erika blinked a few times, her gaze never leaving the note, reading it over and over again. She thought this might be some joke from Emma or Alison, but dismissed it due to the beautiful handwriting and the smell.

But if it wasn't written by any of her friends... the omega shuddered at the thought, curiously unable to define whether it was out of fear or joy... or a combination of the two.

"(Call… I need to call them so I can confirm whether or not I need to kick both of their asses)" Erika delicately left the note where she found it and walked away, grabbing her cell phone.

"Hi, Erika," Emma would answer on the third ring. "Good morning, how was your first day at the new job?"

"Emma, I need you to be honest with me right now. You…" Erika would remain silent for a few moments, feeling something inside her tremble with disgust at the notion of ratting out the person who gave her the supposed gift and wrote the note. "(Do… do I really have to tell him about this suitor? Is he that bad?)"

"Eri, are you still there?" the beta would ask after not receiving a word for a while. "What's going on? Do you need help?"

"Tell me it's a joke, Emma… tell me it's just another one of Alison's cheap but well-intentioned attempts."

"Erika, honey, listen to me," Emma spoke softly, trying to sound reassuring. "I have no idea about any kind of joke Alison has played recently… but if she did, I assure you I'm going to make her beg your forgiveness on her knees."

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"A suitor left a mess at… on the door with a note making it clear he was going to pursue me to court me… I think it's the same one who gave me the flowers."

"Really?... Shit!!" Emma sounded surprised at first, but then the sound of something crashing and the beta's curse were heard.

"Emma!" the white-haired woman would shout worriedly, listening to how the aforementioned would continue cursing in the background of the call for a while.

"I'm fine... I'm fine... I just hit my thighs on a table because of the surprise of what you said"

"Is it so surprising that a decent alpha would court me?" Erika would snort a little offended by what she heard.

"No! No... Look... you're a gorgeous, independent omega that anyone would love to have as a partner... but you have to admit, the suitors who usually chase you end up being scared off by both Alison and me," Emma praised her, then justified herself by saying that she didn't want her friend to get mad at her. "What did this mysterious suitor bring you?"

"Emm," the omega placed her phone between her neck and held it with her shoulder as she opened the box, cutting the lock and transforming a fingernail into a claw. "It's... it's a blueberry pie."

"That's not bad at all... it's better than the first present Alison gave me to start our..."

"With the words, a present bite for a future bite, written in the frosting," Erika would interrupt, feeling her face burn at the implied double meaning, "(because something done by someone I don't even know what they look like affects me so much)"

"Okay... that's much more direct than what Elias has done so far," Emma would whisper from the other end of the line.

"Did you say something?" the omega would ask, still somewhat embarrassed and unable to hear what her friend was saying.

"Nothing!"

.

.

.

"Did he do that?" Belion would ask, giggling as she sat eating a slice of cake at Bernet's expense, who asked her how good it tasted. "Did Alison have the nerve to show up to your date at a 5-star restaurant wearing a costume of your favorite amusement park's mascot, carrying a 2-meter-long padded teddy bear?"

"Yes! And on top of that, she screamed… now you have two mascots to cuddle in bed when you're lonely!!" Emma would hold back her laughter as she recounted in great detail one of her favorite memories. "I swear, at that moment I wanted to cover my eyes with one hand and pretend I didn't know her."

"I can picture her perfectly… I wish I could have seen her" the platinum-haired woman would wipe her eye with a finger, wiping away a tear. "now I want to go to her house to give her a bear hug and tell her the same thing she said word for word"

"That would be hilarious" Emma would sigh with satisfaction. "(It's a good thing I overlooked what I said about Elias… distractions at Alison's expense always work)" the beta would smile at the thought. "I told you about the time where she…"

"Where she what?" The voice of the alpha the duo of friends were talking about would sound in the background, silencing the laughter.

"Um…"

"Okay…"

"Don't say anything… I can imagine what my partner and my favorite omega friend could be talking about… if you'll excuse us, Erika, Mom, and Dad are going to have a little adult conversation." Alison would say goodbye as the call cut off.

"…" Erika would look at her cell phone with a little uncertainty for a few moments before letting out a small. "Oops?"
