The goblin's clothes were tattered and filthy, but Robb still managed to find some scattered fragments of magic stones in its pockets—seems it really did survive by selling information and taking part in robberies.
Aside from that, there were a few miscellaneous items—a handful of loose gold coins, a rusted little knife, and even some shriveled jerky.
Just as he was about to give up, his fingers touched something hard and cold—a finely crafted silver pocket watch, carefully hidden in the goblin's inner coat pocket.
Intricate engravings decorated its surface. Though covered in dust, the craftsmanship was clearly extraordinary.
Robb instinctively extended his mental power toward the watch—and was surprised to feel it respond. It was as if a long-slumbering entity had suddenly awakened.
A strange energy pulsed from the watch, resonating with his spirit. An inexplicable sense of familiarity rose within him.
"What is it?" Andrey walked over and looked curiously at the pocket watch in Robb's hand.
"Looks expensive. Probably something that goblin stole."
Robb didn't answer right away. He was too focused on the waves of energy coming from the watch.
This power felt nothing like any magic he'd encountered before. It was purer. Warmer. Like something connected to him on a deeper level.
Then, a faint glimmer flickered across the watch's surface—visible only to him—and a transparent screen popped up before his eyes:
[Rare Relic detected – Timewarden's Pocket Watch (Inactive)]
[Effect: Resets the user's current status. Limited daily uses.]
[Note: "Rare Relics" are witnesses of history. They possess unique and powerful effects, and when conditions are met, they can evolve into "Glorious Legacies."]
Robb's heart trembled with excitement. He barely managed to keep his expression calm.
He hadn't expected to find something so valuable on a petty thief—a Rare Relic!
In the game world, Rare Relics were unique items with incredible effects. But more importantly, they were deeply tied to the class advancement system.
Some of the most powerful classes—usually three-star and above—could only be unlocked with specific transition materials.
Those materials? Evolved Rare Relics—Glorious Legacies.
After class advancement, the "Glorious Legacy" would transform into the class's exclusive weapon, evolving alongside the character and remaining a core piece of power throughout.
Even without future evolution, the watch's current function—resetting one's state—was already immensely useful for him now.
Still, tempting as it was, now wasn't the time to test how it worked.
"This watch looks nice. Probably an antique," Robb said calmly as he slipped it into his coat, pretending not to know its true purpose. "More of a collector's item than a tool, but better to take it than leave it behind."
Andrey nodded. He was smart enough not to press the issue.
Their top priority now was getting out of this dangerous alley before more trouble showed up.
"We need to move." He glanced at the last twitching orc and stepped forward to finish it with a stab.
"Your spells are strong, but we don't know if these sellswords were backed by someone else. More trouble could already be on its way."
Robb didn't argue. He quickly gathered the remaining magic stone fragments.
The two of them left the alley at a brisk pace, disappearing into the winding streets of Lizard Alley.
As they returned, Robb's thoughts were entirely occupied by the unexpected find—the Timewarden's Pocket Watch.
"If there's one, there could be more... If Rare Relics like this are scattered all over the world…"
He pondered, his fingers unconsciously brushing the silver watch in his coat.
"Then I've just added a new goal to my list. I was wondering how to unlock a three-star class without the proper items—looks like I've got my answer."
With those thoughts, he and Andrey left Lizard Alley and headed toward the apprentice dormitories.
Once they'd emerged from the alley's maze-like streets, the two silently chose a less-traveled path for their return.
Andrey looked up at the darkening sky and sighed.
"Too bad. We didn't find any Sungrass today. I'd heard someone in this area had some for sale."
He sounded a little disappointed. "If we'd gotten some, our progress with the Solar Breath would've sped up a lot."
Robb nodded. "That plant's definitely rare. A lot of light- and heat-based spells use it as a catalyst too. It probably got snapped up the moment it showed up. No surprise we didn't find any."
As they walked down the forest path, dry leaves rustled softly underfoot.
But Robb's mind had already wandered further ahead, back to what Andrey had said about various knight advancement paths—and to the rare relic now in his possession.
"By the way…" he said suddenly, curiosity in his tone,
"How much do you know about knight progression routes? Like Bloodline Knight, Demon Hunter, or Spellblade?"
A complicated expression flickered across Andrey's face, and he replied with a wry grin:
"You're asking the right guy. Back in the day, I'd have charged you for this kind of supernatural knowledge."
He glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then continued:
"There are three main routes, each with its own strengths and requirements."
"Bloodline Knight is the most traditional and safest path. It revolves around awakening and enhancing the dormant extraordinary bloodlines in your body. Every person carries traces of ancient creature blood, and Bloodline Knights train to awaken and harness that power."
Just as Robb was about to respond, a translucent panel flashed before his eyes:
