What a night, Eric said to himself before getting up from bed. Eric was a 16-year-old boy who lived with his parents. As Eric got up from bed, his leg felt something. As he turned to look at what it was, he saw that it was his book. Eric had different books spread around the floor. Eric looked around and saw that his room was a mess. Before he could get up, someone opened the door. It was Eric's mother, Emma. 'Eric, it's 7:00 a.m. Get your ass up and get ready for school.' 'Okay, Mom, I've heard you!' 'Be fast; don't let me come back to your room to wake you up again,' Eric's mother said before closing the door. As Eric got up from bed, he started stretching. When he was done, he went into the bathroom. He saw that his toothpaste had finished. Looking at the sachet of the toothpaste, Eric caught it open before using his toothbrush to rub the sachet of the toothpaste. By the time Eric was done brushing his teeth, he got dressed in his school uniform. Eric had a mirror in his room. The mirror was 5 ft long and 2 ft wide; the mirror was hung close to the side of the door. Eric looked at his reflection in the mirror and said to himself, 'Another day to go to school; I just hope today is better than yesterday.' As Eric got out of his room, he went downstairs to greet his parents. As Eric went to the kitchen, he saw his mom and dad together making breakfast. Eric greeted his parents before sitting down at the dining table. Yes, the dining and the kitchen are one. Eric's father was named John; John and Emma both have a restaurant. It was their little family business. John and Emma cook at the restaurant. Eric is the waiter with his younger brother, Kane. Eric's family was poor but not so poor that they could not afford food or clothing; they were just a little below average. 'Hurry up, kids; you don't want to be late for school,' John said to his children at the dining table. 'Dad, I'm 16; stop calling me a kid.' Eric said to his dad, John. 'Well, the fact that I'm your father and the fact that you and Kane are my sons means I will continue to call both of you kids.' 'So, Dad, do you mean when I turn 16 like Eric, I would still be a kid?' Kane asked his father. 'Yes, soon you will still be my boy.' Kane was 9 years old and the baby of the house for now because Emma is pregnant, but her belly is not yet big since the pregnancy has not been up to a month. In fact, Eric and his brother Kane had no idea that their mother was pregnant. After everyone was done eating, Eric and Kane followed their father to the garage. John had a truck; it was an old model, but for an old model, the truck was neat. John inherited the truck from his father before he passed away. Despite the old age of the truck, John maintained it; anyone who saw the truck would be amazed at how John had made the old truck he got from his father very neat. As Eric and Kane entered the truck, the garage door began to open by itself. Driving out of the garage, Eric looked at their home. Eric never felt like going to school because of the bully in his class. If the bully did not have a strong ability, the whole class would not be afraid of him. Yes! You heard me right. 'Abilities.' The world Eric lived in was not like our Earth but a different timeline. Years ago, the human race was almost extinct because of a group of beings called Gondra. The Gondra are a race that looks a little bit like humans but have a mixture of a dragon; some Gondra are a mixture of human, dragon, and any other earthly animal. The more human-like a Gondra looks, the stronger it is. The weakest of Gondras are usually a mixture of a dragon and some other earthly animals. However, the strongest Gondras are usually human-like but have many dragon-like features. Sometimes it is difficult for someone to know the kinds of earthly animals that are associated with a human-like Gondra. After John had dropped Eric and Kane at school, he drove off. The school was big, like literally big, because since the invasion of the Gondras, each state only has four schools. The schools are ruled by the government. The school that Eric and his brother were attending was the one closest to them; it was known as GTP2, which means the Government Training Program 2. As I said, the schools are divided into four: GTP1, GTP2, GTP3, and GTP4. The school fees are free for both the wealthy and the poor. Most of the wealthy people still pay money for their children to have extra privileges, for example, the bully in Eric's class, Kenneth. Kenneth is a rich man's son; almost everyone knew his family. Kenneth's family has a company that provides trucks and vehicles for the government. Eric went into his class. Eric was a final year student; after students graduate from the GTP school, they would have to attend the military academy. As Eric walked to his seat, his friend Victor waved at him. Eric waved back before taking his seat close to the window at the back of the class. Victor's seat was on the other side of the class, close to the door. Desperate, Victor went to meet his friend Eric. "What's up, man?" Victor said to Eric. "I'm good," "Guess what?" Eric saw the joy on his friend's face before saying, "What?" Victor answered with joy, "My dad said if I graduate with a high score, he would hire a trainer to teach me the fire ability." "Congratulations, bro!" Eric said with joy. There are two ways to learn an ability: one, either to buy the ability book, or two, someone who has the ability you want to teach you. But there is something about ability; I mean, there is a downside to it. You see, abilities are categorized into 12 levels: the Beginner's level, Average level, High level, Earth level, Mini Ascension level, the Ascension level, Mini Supreme level, Supreme level, Mini God level, Supreme God level, God level, and Higher God level. Depending on the MC cell in one's own body, the level a person could reach would depend. But some people have found a way to get past such restrictions but have decided to keep it a secret to themselves. As Eric and Victor were chatting, being excited about the news that if Victor had a high score, his father would hire an ability user of fire to teach him the ability. The door of the class was thrown open with force, grabbing the attention of everyone. Suddenly, one of their classmates was waving a white handkerchief, saying, "Make way for the advanced level user of iron, Kenneth!" Kenneth is the only one in their class who has an ability. Because of that, many students have become friends with him, though I won't call them his friends because they treat him like a king. Kenneth was not the only ability user in the school, but the fact that he was the only one in their class with an ability made him popular. Kenneth walked into the class with a crown on his head made of iron and a staff also made of iron using his ability. He went to take his seat in the classroom; Kenneth's seat was in the center of the classroom. Kenneth was a very fat kid; that was odd because ability users are mostly muscular and fit. Kenneth was different. After learning the Beginner level and the Advanced level ability, he decided to stop training his ability.
