Chapter 79 - Last test:2

But it didn't fall on anyone—at least, not yet.

"Hhaaaaaaaahhhh..."

"Ahhh… Grahhhh!!"

The eerie howls echoed from every direction, as if thousands of ghosts were awakening at once. The chilling cries swept through the air like an invisible tide, sending a ripple of fear through everyone present.

The tense atmosphere grew even heavier.

BOOM!

The land shattered.

A wave of black energy erupted from the cracked earth, and out of the darkness emerged a monstrous creature—eight arms, two heads, its entire body wreathed in a sinister aura of shadow. It opened its mouths and let out a deafening, inhuman howl that shook the very ground.

Soon, it wasn't alone.

Across the land, cracks spread like a spider web, and more of these horrific creatures began to crawl out of the darkness—each radiating a terrifying, bloodthirsty aura. Some were grotesque and deformed, others eerily humanoid, but all of them shared one thing: an overwhelming killing intent.

They kept increasing.

One… ten… a hundred… a thousand… ten thousand… a hundred thousand…

It was endless.

"F-Fuck… What are these disgusting things?!"

"Son of a bitch! Is this what the Immortal Palace trial is? Mass murder?! How are we supposed to fight back against so many of them?!"

"And they can fly! Some of them are clearly at the Foundation Building Realm! But we—our cultivation is still sealed below that!"

"Ahhh! Get out of the way, you bitch! RUN!"

A panicked man shoved his female companion aside as he fled in desperation.

"You bastard! You left me?! I curse you! May you never reincarnate!!" the woman screamed as she fell behind, her face contorted in despair. There was no hope of escape—she was surrounded. As death approached, her entire life flashed before her eyes. She had once been the proud princess of her clan, treated with honor and respect. Now, she was just another victim, thrown into a pit of monsters.

And she wasn't alone.

Almost everyone here had once been a genius, someone who stood at the peak among their peers. But now… they all discarded their pride and fled like terrified mortals, cursing the heavens and the Immortal Palace alike.

They had once suspected the palace to be dangerous, evil even. But when the treasures appeared, they'd all fallen into temptation—forgetting their suspicions in the face of greed.

Now… reality came crashing back.

BOOM! BOOM! CRACK!!

"ROAR!!!"

Despite the terror, some people chose to fight back. Their cultivation was suppressed, but those with strong physiques, tempered bodies, or martial experience engaged the creatures head-on—slaughtering them in close combat.

But not everyone was so lucky.

Limbs flew. Screams echoed. Many were torn apart alive.

"Please! Someone help me!!"

Deep beneath a mountain slope, Su Chen remained hidden, his body trembling slightly.

His Innate scared dao fetus physique was unmatched in raw strength. In direct combat, he had few equals… but against tens of thousands of monsters?

Why fight when you could hide?

Su Chen continued observing everything through the spiritual roots he had spread underground, watching the massacre unfold above. His gaze focused on a single figure in the distance—Ye Tian.

Ye Tian stood amidst the chaos like a wall of iron. No creature that came near him could break through. He was like a war god, radiating dominance with every strike.

"The Ancient Eucharist Physique… It truly lives up to its name," Su Chen murmured. "But can he really hold on?"

Far away, hidden within the shadows, another figure silently observed the battlefield.

His gaze locked onto Ye Tian, and a frown appeared.

"Who is that? Where is Su Chen? System… is your intel wrong?"

This man was none other than Su Yang, whose limbs had once been severed by Su Chen. Now, his body was completely healed, his aura sharp and venomous.

[Ding! Host, there may have been a change. It's possible that Su Chen, the bearer of the Ancient Eucharist Physique, has died… and that person merely inherited it. That's the only logical explanation I can find.]

[—Destiny Villain System.]

Hearing this, Su Yang's expression shifted slightly. He was surprised—but only for a moment.

"Heh… It doesn't matter."

In Su Yang's eyes, Su Chen had always been a so-called 'Son of Luck'—destined to be a stepping stone.

And now? Dead or alive, he was just a pawn.

He wasn't concerned about luck—his Destiny Villain System was far superior to any so-called fortune Su Chen possessed. In his heart, Su Chen was always a sacrificial lamb.

But what did matter…

Was the person who had once cut off his limbs, stole his clan's treasured weapon from his hands, humiliated him in front of Han Yue—and most importantly, took her away.

Wherever that bastard was… Su Yang would find him.

He would tear him apart piece by piece—and feed the remains to spiritual pigs.

Boom! Pucch!

The battle raged on.

Dark creatures exploded into clouds of black smoke with every punch. Even Huang Wu and Su Chen's sub body was fighting in the distance, overwhelmed but holding their ground.

Due to Su Chen's suppressed cultivation, his plant-sensing abilities were limited—only effective within a short radius. Naturally, he couldn't grasp what was happening too far away.

Meanwhile, Ye Tian was panting heavily, his qi nearly depleted.

Without hesitation, he pulled out a strange, glowing fruit and took a bite.

Shhhh—

In an instant, his qi surged back. His eyes sharpened. He jumped back into the fight with renewed force.

Yet no matter how many creatures he destroyed, their numbers didn't seem to decrease. It was as if they were endless.

But instead of panicking… Ye Tian smiled.

Suddenly, he stopped attacking.

Amidst the chaos, he crossed his legs on the battlefield, sat down, and began circulating his cultivation technique.

Golden patterns glimmered faintly across his skin—it was the mark of the Ancient Eucharist Physique.

He pulled out several rare spirit plants from his storage and casually tossed them into his mouth like candy, chewing with calm ferocity.

Boom—!

A powerful aura erupted from his body.

Then—Clang! Clang! Clang!

Ten massive, translucent golden chains materialized around him, wrapping his body like a divine prison. They rattled and groaned under pressure. These were the Heavenly Shackles—the very chains that sealed the Ancient Eucharist Physique since ancient times.

No one had ever cultivated this body to completion. Anyone who tried to break these chains would provoke the wrath of the heavens.

And Ye Tian… was doing exactly that.

He sat unfazed, circulating the ancient sutra while continuing to devour spiritual medicines.

The pressure built rapidly—

Boommm!

Suddenly, the sky split open.

Thrrrrrrr!

Heavenly thunder roared.

Golden lightning bolts surged through the clouds, illuminating the entire world with divine brilliance. The skies turned gold and white, flashing like the wrath of the heavens descending to erase everything.

It wasn't just a storm.

It was the beginning of a Heavenly Tribulation—one so powerful, it threatened to wipe the world clean.
