Elias was still caught up in the moment when a figure stepped out from the shadows. He looked up and it appeared to be a servant.
"Consort Elias." The voice was low and urgent. Elias turned sharply.
"What news?" he demanded.
"You have to hurry; there isn't much time," he said, and off he went.
Elias turned to Kim, and they walked ahead. The servant was a messenger from Derick, and Elias appreciated the help more than anything. Kael gave them way, but Elias didn't feel like it was over.
As they moved further into the tunnel, his nostrils picked up a sudden smell, and Elias gagged. His stomach churned, and he emptied everything he had eaten all day. Elias clutched his stomach, the nausea sharper than ever.
"No," he thought.
"Not now… not like this. He suddenly felt weak, his legs dragged, and his breath turned heavy. Kim helped him, and they moved further ahead.
