AVA'S POV
I slipped it onto my wrist and sat back, allowing myself a moment of stillness.
In the chaos of rebuilding my identity, exposing painful truths, and fighting battles I never asked for, I'd almost forgotten how far we'd come. But today, sitting in this office built on passion and purpose, with my child growing inside me and the love of my life cheering me on from every continent, how could I not feel grateful?
My phone buzzed.
Ethan: Meeting went longer than I expected. On my way to pick up something sweet for you. Any cravings?
I smiled and texted back.
Me: Surprise me. Just make sure it's not pickles dipped in chocolate again.
Ethan: No promises.
I chuckled to myself. This was the life I had dreamed of in fragments. But now it was all real and whole.
