Chapter 37 - Pride

Zombie King asked what he was going to do.

Old Man Blacksmith proclaimed that he would do what he must and kill him. He readied his elemental sword, and it glowed.

Zombie King questioned if Old Man Blacksmith really wanted to do that to him.

Old Man Blacksmith affirmed that he would if it meant saving humanity.

Zombie King growled and ordered the huge zombie to attack Old Man Blacksmith.

The huge zombie was massively confused. As he thought Old Man Blacksmith was the king of the zombies, he questioned which one of them were Zombie King.

Old Man Blacksmith answered that he was.

Zombie King insisted that he was the king of the zombies.

The huge zombie demanded them to prove it.

Zombie King stuttered that he was the huge zombie's biggest fan.

The huge zombie muttered that it was not enough.

Zombie King got on his knees and praised the huge zombie's muscles.

The huge zombie glanced at Old Man Blacksmith to see if he would do the same.

Old Man Blacksmith merely stared back at them in bewilderment.

The huge zombie slowly nodded as he recognized the real Zombie King. He patted Zombie King's hand and claimed that Old Man Blacksmith was not capable of bending his knees.

Zombie King was full of relief and joy. As he wiped his tears, he urged the huge zombie to kill Old Man Blacksmith.

The huge zombie confidently approached Old Man Blacksmith.

Old Man Blacksmith readied his elemental sword and wondered who the huge zombie was to Zombie King.

Zombie King sat on his throne and observed.

The huge zombie confidently muttered that he was the Champion of the Zombies, Pride. As he towered over Old Man Blacksmith, Pride held his axe overhead. He tried to swing downward, but his axe was stuck in the air.

Old Man Blacksmith's sword glowed, and he had stopped the axe. He lunged his sword towards the gut, but Pride didn't flinch.

The elemental sword trembled as it bounced off his skin.

Old Man Blacksmith backed away and gritted his teeth. He pondered how.

Zombie King maniacally laughed. He divulged that Old Man Blacksmith wasn't the only one with information about the original elemental weapons and realized Old Man Blacksmith's apprentice's power at the funeral.

Old Man Blacksmith interrupted that she was his daughter.

Zombie King stopped laughing and realized that it was his daughter. He shrugged it off. He continued that unlike him, he did not replicate them.

Old Man Blacksmith asked what he did with them.

Zombie King grinned and revealed that he figured a way to genetically engineer them into any organism. As he admired Pride, he continued that as a scientist, he was able to create an incredible specimen of a zombie. He proclaimed that he will soon have an army of them.

As he swung his axe, Pride elaborated that Zombie King was lucky to have the chance to create him.

Old Man Blacksmith kept backing away to dodge the attacks. He struggled to find an opening.

Pride added that he also gave Zombie King the opportunity to make him his future son-in-law.

Old Man Blacksmith asked what he meant by future son-in-law.

As he swung, Pride replied that Zombie King wanted him to marry Teen Zombie Princess in the future.

Old Man Blacksmith questioned Zombie King how he could do that to her.

Zombie King pointed towards Pride's muscles and insisted him to just look at them.

Old Man Blacksmith crouched to dodge one of Pride's swings, and Pride posed.

Pride proclaimed that they would have a happy marriage, and their future children would be the most powerful zombies ever.

Zombie King admired Pride, fighting in front of him. He suggested Pride to finish off Old Man Blacksmith quickly.

As he posed, Pride requested if he could take a picture with his twin brother first.

Zombie King was flabbergasted, and he reminded him that they were in the middle of a fight.

Pride insisted.

Zombie King sighed and reluctantly got out his camera.

Just then, Old Man Blacksmith, using the momentum from crouching, swung his sword towards Pride. Unfortunately, it bounced off, and he staggered back.

Pride picked him up with one arm and placed him over his head.

Zombie King took a picture of Pride and Old Man Blacksmith. He muttered that it was done.

After that, Pride tossed Old Man Blacksmith away.

Old Man Blacksmith's back hit the ground. He groaned in pain. He laid there, and his vision blurred.

Pride went for another overhead swing.

Old Man Blacksmith stopped the axe.

Pride uttered that such puny power would not deter him. He tried to break through it.

Old Man Blacksmith struggled to have control over his axe, so he rolled out of the way before losing control.

The axe smashed into the ground. It was stuck.

Old Man Blacksmith got back to his feet and saw an opening. He grabbed dirt off the ground and threw it into Pride's eyes.

Pride wiped his eyes with both of his hands. Seeing no cure, he muttered that his eyes could not handle his face, and he informed that he would let Zombie King give him new ones after the battle.

Zombie King obliged and instructed the whereabouts of Old Man Blacksmith.

Pride reached for his axe, but it was gone.

Zombie King yelled that Old Man Blacksmith had it.

Pride assured that it was fine, for he never needed the axe. He repeatedly punched and kicked the air.

As his sword glowed, Old Man Blacksmith raised the axe into the ceiling. He declared that the Champion of the Zombies would die. He sent the axe, spinning, towards Pride.

Zombie King demanded Pride to dodge it.

Pride posed and reassured that he never needed to dodge in his life.

The axe was lunged into the head and chest of Pride.

Pride fell to his knees.

Old Man Blacksmith took out the axe lodged in.

Pride fell back, dead.

Old Man Blacksmith turned to his brother and concluded that every time Pride posed, his defense increased. He asserted that it was not enough for his own axe.

Seeing his greatest creation, Zombie King was in distraught. He, furious, stood up and interrogated his brother what he had done.

Suddenly, an immense explosion could be heard in the next room. The ground trembled in the aftermath.

The champion of the zombies, Pride, was defeated. Old Man Blacksmith must now face Zombie King. What happened in the next room? Were General Bobby and his army alright?
