Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: The Fight, Reclaiming the Treasure

Aboard the Warhammer

"Hey, brat Lance! Go get me some more donuts! Yeah, the cream-filled ones!"

Garp lounged like a king, ordering Lance around to fetch him snacks.

The sight made Hammer's veins bulge on his forehead.

"Old man Garp, your ship is right up ahead! Why the hell are you on my ship?!"

"And you're bossing around my adjutant! And what's with the mess you've made all over my deck?!"

Garp nonchalantly picked his nose and said, "Obviously because your ship's more fun! Tsk tsk, Hammer, I didn't take you for someone who hides his goodies so well."

"These firearms… did you snatch them from the Science Division? I'm telling you, your ship probably has the highest firepower in all of HQ."

Hammer didn't even respond, his eyes glued to the crumbs Garp dropped on his pristine deck.

Even though he was a blacksmith, covered in soot and grime, he absolutely refused to let anyone dirty his workspace.

"Say, Hammer… that arm thing you made for Zephyr, I really liked it too. Can you make me one?" Garp finally revealed his motive, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Not a chance! Look at this disastrous mess you made!"

"Besides, don't you always brag about your 'Iron Fists'? Why do you need a weapon? Just use your damn fists!"

Garp burst into laughter, completely unfazed by Hammer's rage.

"Bwahahaha. Don't be like that. I'll clean it up, alright? Hey, Lance, grab me a broom!"

Say what you will, Garp may be crazy, but he does follow through. He immediately got to work sweeping the deck.

Hammer just sighed and walked off to the forge, dragging Hina along.

Hina was now Hammer's personal parts engineer. While she made the components, Hammer forged them into shape.

In just a few days, every melee weapon on the Warhammer had been replaced with hammer-blades.

These were pitch-black weapons that looked like swords, but functioned like blunt-force weapons.

Every soldier aboard the Warhammer carried one, and they looked absolutely intimidating.

.....

Sailing straight from Marineford to the West Blue.

Waters near the Kano Country.

The Warhammer and Garp's patched-up Doghead ship had just cornered a pirate ship flying the Kano Country's flag.

"Damn, Hammer… are your men using swords? What kind of swords are those?!" Garp watched in disbelief.

This battle was led entirely by Hammer's crew; Garp's men didn't even need to get involved.

From the first volley, the overwhelming firepower of the Warhammer decimated the enemy line.

And when it came to close combat, the carnage was just as shocking. Garp's crew was dumbfounded.

"Those pitch-black "blades", no, they couldn't even be called blades. What kind of blade leaves no mark on a railing but smashes it on impact?!"

"Pfft, Bunch of country bumpkins. These are my latest creations, hammer-blades."

Hammer chucked at Garp's awe and tossed one over to Bogard, Garp's adjutant.

As a swordsman, Bogard caught it and examined it closely.

The craftsmanship was excellent, but the "edge"? Practically nonexistent.

"This thing… It's shaped like a sword, but it's nothing like one."

He gave it a strong swing, but nothing. No slice, no cut.

Hammer nodded. "Exactly. These hammer-blades are forged from materials created using Hina's Cage-Cage Fruit. After reforging, they lose sharpness but gain massive durability and hardness."

And before the conversation could go further, the fight was over.

Most of the pirates were dead. The few survivors were rounded up by Hammer's crew.

Lance returned to report.

"This was the Second Treasures Navy(Nihō Suigun), not the Eight Treasures Navy(Happo Suigun)."

"But they're all under the Kano Country."

Hammer nodded. He was well aware that, aside from the Eight Treasures Army, the Kano Country had many other numbered pirate crews.

"Give the survivors a small boat. Let them go back and tell that cone-headed bastard Chinjao: Hammer and Vice Admiral Garp are here for revenge."

"Tell him we're waiting at Falling Sunset Island, and to polish that spiky head of his, he's gonna need it!"

Garp: 'Wait, this was supposed to be my fight with Chinjao. Why does it sound like I'm just your sidekick now?!'

Sure enough, the pirates left on a dinghy to deliver the message.

......

The Next Day, Falling Sunset Island

Three ships are now docked at the island.

To the south: the silver Warhammer and the patched-up Doghead.

To the north: Chinjao's giant battleship from the Eight Treasure Army, the Happosai.

Both sides gathered on the battlefield.

The moment Hammer saw Chinjao, his blood boiled with hatred. He immediately launched into a verbal assault.

"You pointy-headed bastard! I'm here for payback!"

"Get ready to have that cone flattened!"

Chinjao wasn't fazed. He tapped his iconic cone-shaped head and grinned savagely.

"Brat, nothing in this world is harder than my cone head!"

"Not even that Garp behind you stands a chance!"

That did it. Garp had had enough.

He clenched his fist and stepped forward.

"Chinjao! Today, I'm flattening that cone of yours!"

"Hah! Garp, with your soft little punches, you think you're still worthy of being called 'Iron Fist'? I'll shatter them with my cone!"

Garp's eyes flashed. He leapt into the air, his right fist instantly sheathed in jet-black Armament Haki, an overwhelming aura erupting from him.

"Damn you, Chinjao! DIE!"

Chinjao responded in kind. His own drill-head was covered in Haki as he launched like a missile toward Garp.

Iron Fist vs. Drill Head.

Fist and cone collided with world-shaking force.

BOOM!!!

The impact sent shockwaves through the air, churning the sea and darkening the sky.

Even Hammer, who knew what would happen, was stunned by the sheer intensity of the clash.

The struggle continued. Chinjao's face twisted with madness, while Garp's expression grew into a huge smile.

"DIE, GARP!" Chinjao howled.

Garp remained calm, and then his fist's power exploded even higher.

The tide turned.

Chinjao's drill head began to crack under the force of the Iron Fist.

BOOM!

One final strike, and the drill head was gone. Flattened. Obliterated.

Chinjao fell, severely injured and completely unconscious.

Garp, satisfied, burst out laughing.

"BWAHAHAHA! MY FISTS ARE THE HARDEST IN THE WORLD!"

Watching from the sidelines, Hammer cheered like a madman.

"Hell yeah! That's what you get, you cone-headed bastard!"

"Garp, that was BEAUTIFUL!"

"Oh, right! Grab him! I'm dragging him back to the Jewel Ice Sheet, I want him to personally watch me EMPTY OUT all his treasure!!"
