With panic etched across her face, Anna's wide eyes darted to Aidan, who moved with startling precision. Without a word, he popped open the glove compartment and brought out a shiny metallic object.
Anna turned to him. "What are we going to do? Do you…" Her words paused when her gaze locked on the gleaming object in his hand.
It was a gun.
She recognized it as the gun the pervert had dropped back in their apartment, and she didn't realize Aidan had taken it.
Her eyes widened at him.
He tried the car once more, but it sputtered and died again, then he turned to Anna, his expression urgent but calm. "On the count of three, run!"
Anna stared at him, her heart hammering. "What?!" The word tore from her throat, sharp with disbelief.
She shook her head, fresh tears prickling her eyes.
