We followed the guard to a small building that he soon opened the door to, "Sorry for the mess, I've been to busy with my guard duty as of late." The guy said as we were let into the small house.
It wasn't messy or anything but rather it was a bit dusty as it seems he hadn't really been home for a few days to maybe a week at least, there was a table, a few stools and one cushioned chair in the living room area.
"Here you can let your friend rest on this chair." He said while nicely letting me have the best chair in the room, but it was mostly caused he assumed that I was unconscious as he couldn't see my face under my visored mask.
So I took him up on that offer as Excalibur placed me down on the chair while he sat on a stool to which I made Excalibur sit on a stool as well.
"Those are some strange sets of clothes and armor you have there, I take it your not from anywhere around these parts?" He decided to ask us about ourselves, probably to gather information like I was about to from him.
"You could say that, we come from a remote land far, far away from here, but we heard about Orario in our travels and wanted to come to see the city, but what we have heard we don't really know if what people have told us true or only just rumors that people think are true, so meeting you made it easier for us to get to know about the city better from someone who lives nearby." I said through Excalibur letting my Warframe do the talking for me.
"Well I guess I can help with that, what is it that you want to know?" He said as he seemed willing to answer most of what I wanted to ask.
And so I went onto ask about the history of Orario, who were all the Major Familia's were, and when he mentioned the Tower of Babel and the dungeon I asked for more information on that as well.
So from everything he decided to tell me I learned many things, a thousand Years ago monsters freely roamed the world and caused massive suffering to humanity, elves, dwarfs, pallums, Demihumans and Amazonians.
Back before the tower existed the world was helped by great spirits to empower ancient heros to fight back against monsters.
But the gods above saw the plight of the mortals and a thousand years ago the gods descended to the world in order to both help the mortals along with enjoying what it's like to live in the mortal realm.
So the gods created the Tower of Babel to seal the dungeon below to lower the monster population on the surface of the world to a fraction of what it once was before and ultimately giving the planet back to the mortals as a result.
However three great monsters escaped being sealed those being the Behemoth, the Leviathan and the One Eyed Black Dragon who all still roam across the world in various locations, but bring disaster wherever they go and thus they are considered part of the Three Great Tasks that mortals are meant to deal with whenever their strength is strong enough to take them down.
Right now the Hera and Zeus Familias that have been around for nearly a thousand years are still the two strongest powerhouses Orario has ever seen with their captains being a level 9 and level 8 respectively which from what is known is that one can reach level 9 and being the limits of mortals but as it's known that the Empress, the one level 9 Adventurer in Orario, still has her stats increase, even at an extremely slow rate, means that possibly level 10 is the true and final limit for mortals overall but as there hasn't ever been a level 10 in all of Orario or even the worlds history it's unknown if that is the final limit or not.
Levels can only be achieved through the falna of the Gods which they give to humans who form a Familia with them the power to level up through excelia, basically experience points, by killing monsters until one's stats reach at the near minimum of C-rank along with completing a major feat, usually by killing a monster stronger than yourself allows one to level up and go up in rank as an adventurer.
'This really seems familiar, I know this is from somewhere but I've got no clue…. Wait is this one of those anime's my cousin would talk about whenever I would go to his place?' I couldn't help but think before trying to remember anything my cousin talked about with gods involved.
"You mentioned Zeus and Hera but what of the other major gods in Orario?" I decided to ask as the guy, who introduced himself as Curtis and a level 1 adventurer of the Demeter Familia that is mainly a food production familia, as he rubbed his chin and thought about it.
"Well besides them there my goddess Demeter of course who helps keep Orario well stocked with food, there were the Set, Osiris and Sobek Familias but they tried to overthrow Zeus and Hera two years back before failing and being exiled from Orario with them having to disband there Familias leading to their adventures scattering with a few stronger ones being taken in other smaller Familias from what I heard in rumors, but beside them there's the Freya and Loki Familias who are trying to become the new rivals of the Hera and Zeus Familias but currently they are too new to Orario to be considered legitimate threats." He explained to me some more making me pause as I think I remembered something now.
"From what I heave heard Freya is an exceedingly beautiful goddess with flowing grayish silver hair right?" I asked as I assumed it was the Freya I was thinking about.
He nodded, "Yes Freya is…. Exceedingly beautiful, but way out of anyone's league as a goddess of beauty that only people can swoon after her from a distance." He said confirming my suspicions as I 'knew' of this world now.
A Shortstack twin tailed goddess, a doll faced blonde, and a silver haired goddess of beauty, if I remember right then this is the world of Danmachi, but I assumed this was taking place sometime before the main story as the Freya familia are supposed to be one of the strongest familias and right now they weren't I had no clue how far before the events of the story I am since I never actually watched more than the first two episodes of the show so I barely know anything about this world but at least I knew it was that world.
But that gave me a goal, if this is before the events of the original story and the major figures haven't reached their peaks and we're still small at the moment then maybe I should join them instead of the Zeus or Hera Familia's.
Though who knows? Maybe me being this far back in time could change the events that would take place in the future, but only time would tell.
