Chapter 22 - Chapter 22- The Red Moon

Damien's heart kept on beating so rapidly as the day that had been prophesied was finally coming to pass; he was also feeling weird inside him, his blood started running hot, and he knew he had to win this battle for Eri-doria.

The sky began to rumble heavily, thunder and lightning started again just the same way it did 17 years ago. Damien rushed to the courtyard as heavy wind howled through the air, staring at the clouds, the moon stayed in a fixed position while slowly turning red. Diana came out of nowhere and met Damien, "the day has finally arrived, Mr. heir, now you will see who bleeds, just then she materialized from the shadows, going back into her former true form, she began to evolve from Diana's skin, she finally changed into the young beautiful, fair skin Elora that was banished by his grandmother.

"Too slow, heir," she said and walked classically to the mother of Eri-doria statue and said, "dear sister the day I've wished for this day and it has finally arrive, burn in hell darling, this is a reminder of how I hate you", she smirk as dark smoke began to flow out of her palm as she moved back a bit and looked at the statue and suddenly blasted it with her immerse powers, making it to crush gradually and break into the ground, Damien just watched from a distance. Damien fell to the ground and started convulsing. she walked closer to him, looking tall and bossy, "why are you doing this?", Damien said his voice was trembling and weak, "your mother made me starve for this day, she made wait my whole life because of a book, she made me beg her unconditionally, so I own this day Damien and nothing can stop me now", she said looking at him, "you are very cunning", he said, "and besides you don't have the spells to release the demon", Damien added, "actually I do, I had someone installed to get everything, all the information I needed for this wonderful day, and guess the person", she said with a smirk on her lips, as Damien just stared with confusion, "Brian, come over here", she said as Brian walked out of the shadows, he never had the intention to betray Damien, but some secrets are kept hidden, "and I guess this book is mine", she said before dragging the book out of his hand. Principal K held the book and walked to the middle of the field and stood still, Damien just looked at her, as he remembered that vision, his body was getting weak, she started saying things in spells of different language, chanting aloud as the ground trembled slowly, the sky rumbling so loud scattering lightning bolts in the sky, it was like an earthquake ready to erupt, black veins started showing all over Damien body all across his skin. His strong screams tore through the night, trying to fight the demon's release. He began to rise from the floor as his chest raised higher, the demon was about to be released from there, just then a column of shadow erupted rapidly from Damien's chest, twisting into the sky. Damien's body fell heavily to the floor, as Elizabeth quickly ran to him on the floor, "The demon is finally unleashed", Brian said, standing beside Principal K, as she continued chanting her spell, the demon surged into the stormy clouds like ink in water. Above them, the red moon's crimson light started to cast its rays across Eri-doria, painting the ruins in hellish glow. Damien was still breathing, he tried gasping for air, until he became too weak to open his eyes. His body felt hollow and burned out. But the prophecy wasn't done with him yet.

"Get up." Elizabeth hauled him upright, her hands slick with blood, Brian walked closer to the two of them, "where have you been all this while?", Damien asked trying to hug him, but Brian pushed back, Damien was really confused, "I'm very sorry, Damien, but I had to do what I did, I faked everything, I wasn't interested in the book, I did all for Principal K", Brian said before releasing a soft sigh, they turned and looked at her, as she was already deep into the spell, her eyes were pure white, a dark shadow surrounded her, " I'm not the protector of what's happening", Brian said with a tear rolling down, "it doesn't matter we can still fight this battle together", Damien added, "I don't think we can, I've betrayed you, and its time I pay for my sins, you can do this, I trust you", Elizabeth laid Damien on the floor flat as the earth cracked. She pressed her palm to his chest, where the demon had just exited. "The heir's body is a door. But doors can always be locked." Damien understood.

Rule 3: The heir must surrender, or the world burns.

Brian lunged to stop them, but the red moon's light froze him mid-step. Just then a gush of light suddenly came from the moon and casted the rays on Brian, he screamed so loud, his body became stiff, as his eyes began to bleed blood, his eyes were filled with blood, his ears also poured out blood followed by his nostrils as it gushed out blood, before he fell to the floor cold dead, "The betrayer bleeds by the red moon's first light,", Elizabeth whispered into Damien ears, his body shivered at what he just witnessed with Brian. Brian's body suddenly crumbled to ashes as his last whisper was lost in the wind: "...should've let me die that night in the library."

Principal K standing filled with powers with the blood prophecy book in her hand and her head raised to clouds, her eyes turned white, the dark cloud accompanied with thunder and lightning clashing everywhere, the buildings of Eri-doria high school began to fall apart slowly, at the demon heavy roar, the other statues in the school also fell to pieces. She continued singing aloud in chants and spells, her chants slithered through the air, each syllable making the demon's form writhe tighter in the clouds she was binding it to her will, she used Brian as an ally all this while just to get to Damien and the blood prophecy book, she made him feed everything about the prophecies to her, just for the demon powers. The red moon hung like a bleeding eye over Eri-doria, its light casting the ruins of the school. The demon, now fully unleashed, coiled around Principal K, its shadowy tendrils merging with her body slowly. Her eyes turned pitch black, her voice a chorus of screams as she rose into the air slowly, she was fully possessed, the Blood Prophecy book also floating beside her like a cursed relic.

Elizabeth grabbed Damien's arm; her grip was fierce. "We have one shot left, and that's The Sagittarius girls, remember, they're the only way out. Their ancestors were the first to bind the demon. They can still do it again."
