"Judging by your expressions, you visited that fun little place I told you about—the one beneath Guǐ Yì Residence, didn't you?"
There was a teasing lilt in Shajin's voice, as if he'd already guessed the answer.
Hearing that, Lumine nodded eagerly, her face radiant with joy and satisfaction, still caught up in the thrill of the experience.
"It was so much fun!!! That domain is seriously amazing!!!"
Her voice bubbled with excitement, as though she'd just stepped out of an electrifying thrill ride.
But then she suddenly frowned slightly, a hint of regret creeping into her tone.
"It's just… it ended too soon…"
Indeed, using Sandrone's "black-tech," Shajin had installed a mysterious and exhilarating domain beneath every Guǐ Yì Residence.
This was a secret realm accessible only to a privileged few, a temptation in and of itself.
Only under specific conditions could one be allowed entry.
Either spend over ten million Mora at the Guǐ Yì Residence, or obtain a direct recommendation from a manager or higher. Only then could you receive the coveted access pass.
It was a game of wealth and power—an exclusive indulgence only for the elite.
With just 100,000 Mora, you could enter once for thirty minutes. Each person was only allowed to experience it once per day.
This limitation made every visit all the more precious.
The moment one entered the domain, they would be overwhelmed with a sense of invincibility.
Because inside, each participant would receive a variety of astonishing buffs.
Some might gain telekinetic powers, effortlessly manipulating objects in their surroundings.
Others might receive total immunity to damage, becoming untouchable in battle.
Still others might unlock immobilizing abilities, freezing enemies in place.
The buffs were endless and dazzling in their variety.
With these powerful enhancements, visitors could unleash their full strength without reservation—experiencing the raw exhilaration of mowing down enemies like an unstoppable force.
In this space, everyone became nearly invincible. No matter how formidable the monsters, they were no match.
But that wasn't even the domain's most enticing feature.
Each defeated monster would earn the player valuable points.
Accumulate enough points, and they could be exchanged at Guǐ Yì Residence for a dazzling variety of rewards.
Weapons, tools—even special items like Wings of Wind—could be redeemed.
Naturally, the Black Card gifted by Shajin was something entirely different.
As a personal gift from the "boss," it represented the highest tier of privilege—free access and consumption at all Guǐ Yì Residences.
A symbol of status. A display of true VIP treatment.
…
Lumine hadn't even fully explored the domain before the hourglass unceremoniously booted her out.
Thirty minutes—far too short for a place so enchanting.
Shajin shrugged with a crooked smile, his voice carrying a casual playfulness.
"If I let people stay in there forever, they'd start thinking they're gods. Half an hour's just enough for a proper thrill."
Lumine pouted, but found herself without a good comeback.
She knew he was right. The strict rules of Guǐ Yì Residence were precisely what made each visit so valuable.
Shajin glanced past Lumine's shoulder, his eyes scanning as if searching for someone.
"Huh, weird. Didn't Tartaglia come with you?"
Lumine and Paimon exchanged a look.
Then Paimon nodded.
"That guy said he prefers real combat over fake fights. Last we saw him, he was headed out to Liyue's outskirts to go hunt a Geovishap or something."
Shajin chuckled and shrugged, clearly unsurprised.
"Classic him."
Everyone makes their own choices—and Tartaglia's, without question, suited him perfectly.
…
But just then, a ghostly voice drifted in from behind Lumine.
"Traveler… that's so mean…"
Startled, she instinctively took a step back, heart skipping a beat.
When she turned and saw who it was, surprise bloomed across her face.
"Huh? Hu Tao? You're here too?!"
Hu Tao stood with her arms crossed and cheeks puffed out in protest.
"Hmph! Traveler, you traitor! You walked in and immediately threw all your attention at Shajin—not even a glance for me, the mighty Head of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor!"
Faced with her accusations, Lumine scratched her head awkwardly, then cleared her throat, attempting to explain.
"Ahem… That's impossible, Hu Tao! Think about it—main characters always enter last, right?"
"I remembered you at the end because you're important to me!"
Hu Tao blinked, then scratched her own head uncertainly.
"R-Really?"
She immediately broke into a smile and threw her arms around Lumine.
"I knew it! I knew you'd never forget your good ol' Hu Tao!"
Lumine averted her eyes guiltily.
…
Shajin stood up from his seat, stretched, then bounced in place a few times, testing his body's condition.
Then he walked over to Hu Tao and gently patted her on the head.
"Alright, Hu Tao. It's getting late. You should head back to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Otherwise, Consultant Zhongli might start worrying about you."
Hu Tao frowned and pouted.
"Tch. That old fossil wouldn't care even if I vanished. I'm already grateful he's stopped mailing the Parlor all his tea shop receipts!"
Shajin couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Still, you should go. The Parlor can't run without its head honcho, right?"
"Besides, I've got business with Zhongli myself. Why don't we go together?"
Hu Tao sighed dramatically, but relented.
"Fiiine. I guess I could head back… But next time, make sure to invite me out for fun too!"
Shajin nodded.
"The Lantern Rite Festival's coming up. I'll be in Liyue for a while—if something interesting pops up, you're first on the list."
Hu Tao beamed, flashing her bright white teeth.
"I knew you were the best!"
Shajin turned to Lumine, Paimon, and Rosalyne.
"You three want to come along?"
"I'm in!" Lumine raised her hand eagerly.
"Me too!" Paimon bounced with excitement.
Rosalyne, however, rolled her eyes and waved them off.
"I'll pass. I've got a mountain of reports waiting for me back in Inazuma. Must be nice to have such a carefree job."
Shajin scratched his head and laughed sheepishly.
"Haha, well… I do have a legitimate reason this time. I'll treat you to dinner later, promise."
Rosalyne sighed in exasperation.
"Fine. The sooner you go, the sooner you'll be back."
