Chapter 19 - Morica

Whatever was in the room didn't feel like an enemy.

It felt… familiar. Dangerous, but not hostile. Not yet.

Selora pushed the door open… and froze.

Standing there, right in the centre of the room, and dressed in very scanty leather, was a demoness. One so breathtaking, so full of allure, that Selora couldn't decide whether

to feel awe or caution.

The demoness's golden eyes flicked up, shifting smoothly into violet as they locked onto Selora, and she smiled.

Her skin was deep crimson, flawless and silky, marked with glowing runes that hugged her curves like they were drawn by a lover. Her full indigo hair flowed down to her hips, in gentle… easy curls.

Behind her, translucent bat-like wings folded neatly, almost giving her a graceful edge… But Selora knew grace was one thing demons never harboured.

The demon had horns. Curved like those of a ram on her head, and her tail, which was long and whip-like, danced in slow curls behind her as she stared back at Selora. The little flame at the tip of her tail burning brighter in excitement.

She was beautiful in the worst way… the kind of beauty that screamed chaos… but still made chaos look like a good idea.

"Hello, sister…" The stranger finally said, her voice soft, like dreamy temptation, and Selora stepped into the room.

She shut the door behind her, eyes narrowing as she wondered who this stranger was and whether to get ready for a fight.

"I don't have a sister. Who the hell are you?" Selora spoke. Voice sharp and straight to business.

The demon only smiled, tail curling slowly as she studied Selora.

"Aren't we all sisters and brothers in our realm?" she purred, but Selora didn't answer. She wasn't in the mood for riddles.

Somehow, another demon had found her.

Not just found her, but recognised her. Even though she was hiding in the body of a human girl.

That was the part Selora needed to understand… how her location had been compromised.

The demon sighed, tilting her head like a bored cat.

"Tch. I had a feeling you'd be this way. You're always so serious." She said, placing a hand on her hip, and Selora let out a breath.

Her patience was slowly running thin.

"I'm Morica," the demoness finally informed, flashing a slow, sultry grin at Selora.

"One of the last surviving Lilums…" She added, and Selora eyed her…

[Would you like me to run a check on her?]

Selora's system chimed, and Selora nodded discreetly.

'Yes.'

Selora blinked at the information that appeared before her, and just then she heard Morica's voice again.

"You've phased out again. You do that a lot." She spoke, and Selora blinked as the scream disappeared, and Morica then leaned forward slightly, her eyes glowing with mischief.

"I was just saying that I'm your biggest fan." She whispered, and Selora raised a brow as she started moving.

Circling Morica in slow, calculated steps, but Morica didn't mind.

"My biggest fan?" Selora repeated, and Morica nodded with a giggle.

"Yup. Been watching you for three years now. Lurking in the shadows, an unsuspecting stranger in the street, your neighbour, classmate… I have always been there, and I must say… You do amazing work." Morica replied, and Selora froze.

"Three years??"

"Oh, don't be shocked. I've been with you through at least five possessions." Morica replied like she didn't just drop a bomb, and Selora's heart skipped a beat.

"Your growth has been remarkable to watch, mentor," Morica added, and Selora blinked in shock.

This had to be a lie. There was no way someone had been watching her for so long, and she wouldn't know. It couldn't be true.

And who was she calling 'mentor'??

"You look like you don't believe me," Morica noted, and Selora stared in silence.

"Why should I?" She replied, and Morica smiled. Impressed by the challenge.

"I have proof. I can name every girl you've ever possessed. Well, at least the five I've witnessed." She replied as she strolled over and sat on the bed, tail curling in her lap, and legs crossed nonchalantly like she owned the place.

"Name them," Selora responded, confident that there was no way this demon who just popped out of the blue would know that.

"Aiit. There was Latisha, Mia… You really liked that one, but those pesky angels killed her. Then you moved on to Phoebe… Then Caroline… and now, you're here. In Isabel Reyes."

Selora froze. Then suddenly, mana began to crackle at her fingertips, ready to pounce, and Morica's eyes widened in amusement.

"How do you know that?! Who are you?! And what do you want from me?!" Selora demanded, and Morica rolled onto the bed, her bare crimson ass landing with a jiggle. She was too casual, too playful for the severity of the moment. Almost like she didn't feel threatened by Selora.

Selora, on the other hand, was beginning to spiral. She had worked years to keep her identity secret, and here was this demon suddenly telling her every secret she had hidden.

Who else knew? If a demon could find her so easily, did it mean heaven could too?

"How do I know that? Like I said… I've been following you for three years. Who am I? Morica. One of the last surviving Lilums, and what do I want from you?… I want you to train me."

Nothing Morica said made sense to Selora, but the last words were the most absurd.

"Train you??" Selora repeated the words, and Morica nodded.

Now, Selora was sure Morica was either insane or up to something.

"I'm a succubus, and you're a lilum. What the fuck could I possibly teach you?" She responded. And Morica shrugged.

Rolling onto her back with breasts bouncing at the impact.

"A lot. Actually. I watched you kill that Nightbinder, and boy, was that proper entertainment. I could never! Then what you did to that priest…" She began, and then she playfully hung her head off the foot of the bed as she stared at Selora.

"Truth is. I'm bored. There's nothing to do. You've been my favourite source of entertainment all these years, and finally, I want to be a part of the fun. I know you're looking for the relics. I can help you."
