Chapter 37 - HHES: Chapter 37

He glanced at the large man embedded in the wall. No one here could have done that. Then he looked at Loki, who was calm and smiling faintly—a smile that looked devilish.

Loki sat down; people moved away. He occupied half the room; the other contestants crowded to the other side, their earlier aggressive expressions replaced with meekness.

"Number 147! To ring 16!" the loudspeaker announced.

Everyone looked at the man in the wall—number 147. He wouldn't be competing; surviving was lucky. He'd provoked a devil.

"Amazing! Contestant 278 easily defeated his opponent. Congratulations on advancing."

On the 50th floor of the Heaven Arena, Loki easily defeated his opponent. The referee gave him a slip.

"Your skill allows you to proceed to the 100th floor."

Loki took the slip and went to the 100th floor. He was curious about the elevator attendant—the woman who'd beaten Gon and Killua. Her strength was unfathomable.

The attendant felt uneasy under Loki's gaze. 'This cute kid is a pervert!'

Loki wasn't concerned; she didn't feel dangerous. Perhaps beating Gon and Killua was just for comedic effect.

Ding!

"Arrival at the 100th floor!"

Loki went to his next match. He won three matches on floors 100, 130, and 150, reaching floor 190. It was late; he decided to rent a room and continue tomorrow. Rooms weren't free below floor 200, but he had money.

"This is your room, Mr. Loki. Your key card."

Loki was about to enter when he heard a voice.

"We finally reached floor 200!"

Loki turned. "That's Gon's voice!"

Killua and Gon were at the Heaven Arena. He'd expected them to be on floor 200 but not yet.

Loki went towards the sound. He found Gon and Killua waiting for the elevator.

"Which floor?" the attendant asked.

"Two hundred…" Killua began to answer.

Loki spoke. "Don't go to floor 200 now."

Gon and Killua turned. Gon smiled. "Loki! You're here too?"

Killua's face darkened, then he calmed down. They approached Loki. The attendant, seeing three impolite kids, closed the elevator doors.

Gon asked why Loki was at the Heaven Arena. Loki said he was training. This didn't surprise them.

"Are there people your level here?" Gon asked, not finding the opponents strong.

Loki nodded. "Floor 200 is for Nen users."

"It's all Nen users?" Killua asked.

Loki nodded. "Without Nen, you'll be attacked by Nen users."

"What do we do? We haven't learned Nen. Do we stay on floor 190?"

"Didn't the Hunter Association send someone to teach you Nen?" Loki asked. Wing should be here.

They shook their heads.

Loki frowned. "Didn't you meet anyone strange?"

They looked at each other, then at Loki. 'Does he mean me?'

Loki called Netero. Gon and Killua stood beside him, wondering why.

"Chairman."

"What? Decided how to develop your ability?"

"Yes, but why isn't anyone teaching Gon Nen? Shouldn't the Association send instructors?"

"Hohoho… You are," Netero said. "The Association uploaded the new Hunters' information to the Hunter website. Gon going to the Heaven Arena is known, but you're also there. Other Hunters won't go."

Loki understood. He didn't know if there was a reward for teaching new Hunters Nen, but because he and Gon came to the Heaven Arena, Wing wasn't there.

Teaching Nen seemed interesting. Gon and Killua were talented. Replacing Wing, he could guide them.

Gon and Killua looked at Loki.

"Who did you call?"

"Is the Association sending someone?"

Loki put away his phone. "Your instructor is here."

"Who?" Killua asked eagerly. He wanted to learn Nen and catch up to Loki.

Gon's eyes lit up.

Loki cleared his throat.

"Currently, the only Nen-using professional Hunter in the Heaven Arena is me."

They looked at each other.

After five seconds, Killua's eyes widened. "You mean…?"

"What?" Gon asked.

Killua's face fell. He wanted to learn Nen, but his instructor was Loki—his enemy. This was unacceptable.

"Gon, our instructor is him."
