Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 – A Pet Egg?

The Paper Drawing Storm Step actually appeared in the same batch as Life Return.

And there was no need to roll the dice again to avoid duplicates.

Gotta say, that was a pretty considerate mechanic.

Shano gulped down the water in his mouth and sprayed it out with a satisfied nod. He added the skill to his cart without hesitation.

[Secret Manual: Yone's Sealed Mortal Cut]

[Type: Training Manual]

[Price: 1000 Points]

[Description: A powerful sword technique exclusive to the dual-blade swordmaster. Upon activation, the swordsman dashes forward, covering distance in an instant, with both swords crossing to unleash a raging whirlwind. All enemies in its path are swept into the air, entering a brief moment of disorientation, before suffering massive damage the instant the swordsman lands.]

[Maximum range spans several kilometers. In addition to wide-range AOE lethality, it's also a reliable escape-and-survival move.]

[Seller's Note: Stolen from Yasuo. Currently being strung up and beaten by Ionia villagers. Help, it's urgent, online waiting.]

A sword technique.

And it had to be used by a dual-blade swordmaster?

Shano wiped his face with a towel, looking hesitant.

Seemed like he couldn't use it?

But…

The term swordmaster likely adapted automatically to the standards of this world, which in simpler terms meant someone who had grasped the breath of all things — someone who had reached the level of being able to "cut steel."

"Cut steel, huh?"

Shano subconsciously looked at his own arms. Muscles bulging and solid — saying they were forged from steel wouldn't be an exaggeration.

With that kind of strength, he was probably just a step away from being able to cut through iron.

If he kept up his training, and his body leveled up again, then used Life Return to reshape his arms into blade-like forms...

Wouldn't that make him a dual-blade swordmaster who could cut steel?

Shano was seriously tempted.

He figured there was a real chance to exploit this loophole. Missing out on such a powerful sword technique would be a real shame. And even if he couldn't use it in the end, he could always give it to one of his crewmates.

Besides, for him right now, a thousand points wasn't a big deal.

Worst case? Next year he could just go extract a vial of Sanji's blood again.

"Bought!"

Having made up his mind, Shano added it to his cart as well.

Come to think of it—

Why did so many sellers from other worlds keep making fools of themselves like this? Getting hunted down by pissed-off locals all the time.

"Still not mastering auto-pickup skills, huh." Shano shook his head in sympathy.

They were all colleagues in this business, but compared to him, the dignified Pirate King, the gap was just too big. If your technique's trash, train harder.

[Shizuka Minamoto's Bathtub]

[Type: Miscellaneous Item]

[Price: 2500 Points]

[Description: Just an ordinary bathtub, yet when it's filled with steam and mist, it carries the pure and beautiful dreams of countless childhoods.]

[Seller's No—]

Sometimes, reading too fast wasn't a good thing. By the time he realized what he was looking at, it was already too late.

Shano gave a face like a confused boomer staring at a smartphone, palm on forehead, too embarrassed to keep looking. He quickly skipped to the next item.

Seriously? You went to the Doraemon world and this is what you brought back for sale? And you've got the guts to price it that high?

What about the telephone booth? The magic megaphone? The Anywhere Door? Heck, even the bamboo copter would be better!

Honestly, pervy otakus should be banned from isekai travel.

[Random Pet Egg]

[Type: Special Item]

[Price: 1500 Points]

[Description: Upon purchase, this pet egg will randomly hatch a juvenile pet with randomized species and bloodline. Bloodline tiers range from D to S. Initial loyalty will be determined based on species and the host's first impression.]

[Upon acquiring your first pet, the Pet Panel will be unlocked.]

[Seller's Note: None. Direct from the system.]

"A pet egg?"

Shano had just walked into the kitchen to have breakfast and paused in surprise when he saw the item.

So that was a thing too? With toast in his mouth, he thought about it, then chose to add it to his cart.

The system's direct sales always guaranteed quality. Pets available here obviously wouldn't be your average household cats or dogs — they'd provide real combat support.

It was also the first completely random item he'd encountered, and he was quite curious to see what he'd get.

As for the following few products, he skimmed them and found them all average in terms of value, so he skipped them one by one and proceeded to check out.

Four items total, costing 5100 points, leaving him with 41,050 remaining.

Opening his inventory, Life Return, the Rokushiki Manual, and the sword technique manual were all neatly sorted in place.

Beside them was a newly opened pet panel, with the random pet egg resting quietly inside.

Shano instinctively looked around.

The kitchen was empty. Outside the window, there wasn't a soul in sight. Bellemere had prepped breakfast and rushed off to the orange processing workshop.

Nami and Nojiko had just returned last night after half a month of travel, dead tired, and were still sleeping like the dead.

So, there wasn't really anything to worry about. Shano tapped on the pet egg, and a twenty-sided die of iron-gray color instantly popped up in front of him and began spinning rapidly—

[Random roll in progress, please wait]

[You have obtained a new pet: Silver Wolf Pup]

[Hatching…]

The die vanished, and at some point, the egg in the pet panel had turned silver-white, with cracks slowly forming at the top.

Crack—crack—

Not long after, the top of the shell completely broke open, and a fluffy little head peeked out. As it did, the creature phased from the system panel into reality.

[Bloodline Rating: A+]

[Initial Loyalty: 89]

[Description: The Silver Wolf Clan, who dwell near the shores of Little Radiance Lake, are famed for their terrifying combat prowess. The pup you've acquired is part of the Silver Wolf royal bloodline, with even greater potential.]

After reading the system window, Shano looked over it to see the actual creature sitting on his lap.

"This is a Silver Wolf royal pup?"

He picked up the little thing in doubt. Covered in dull gray fur, chubby and fluffy, with a little tail wagging away and eyes that sparkled with intelligence—

No way… isn't this just an Alaskan piglet?

"Woof!"

The babyish bark made Shano's brow twitch. The pup didn't seem to mind its master questioning its lineage and flopped its fuzzy triangle ears while licking the scabs on his arm with a tiny pink tongue.

Shano quickly stopped it, and the pup let out a whimper in protest, flipping over to reveal its belly and pawing the air with four snowball-like feet, showing off soft pink toe beans.

"Uh…"

Well, at least it was undeniably adorable.

Shano's tough-guy heart melted. Unable to resist, he bent down and gave it a good RUA on the head, then rubbed its slightly sunken belly.

"Hungry?"

The little Alaska pig—no, silver wolf—nodded eagerly.

"What do you want to eat then? This?"

Shano offered a piece of toast from his plate. It sniffed it but turned its head away.

"This, then?"

He tried each of the breakfast items laid out, mostly meats and carbs, but the pup ignored them all, leaving Shano scratching his head in frustration.

Why didn't the system provide a pet care guide?

He could take care of normal cats and dogs, sure, but who the heck knew what to feed a Silver Wolf royal pup?

Would it only eat raw meat or something?

While pondering, Shano absentmindedly grabbed a strawberry milk from the fridge. He had just taken a sip when he felt a sudden charge against his leg.

Startled, he looked down and saw the silver pup ramming into his calf, its eyes full of longing.

"You like strawberry milk?"

"Woof! Woof!!"

The little wolf pup spun in circles excitedly, its tail nearly turning into a helicopter rotor.
