Chapter 60: Hard Work Pays Off
The transformation ended at noon.
After grabbing some food and taking a long, relaxing bath, Ryosuke headed to the training ground. Meanwhile, Hyuga Hiashi had taken the chance to catch a short rest—something he desperately needed.
Over the past few days, he hadn't shut his eyes for more than a few seconds. He'd stayed holed up in his study, silently guarding Ryosuke through the entire process.
---
Afternoon – Hyuga Clan Training Ground
The sun hung high as Hyuga Hiashi stood at the edge of the Hyuga Clan's exclusive training ground, waiting. His eyes were shadowed with dark circles from lack of sleep, and exhaustion radiated from his posture—but his tone was still sharp and to the point.
"Well?" he asked, voice slightly hoarse. "Any changes in your body?"
Hiashi had witnessed the entire transformation with his Byakugan fully activated. It had been... remarkable. There was no typical training, no effort. And yet, Ryosuke's body changed—organ by organ, as if every part of him had gained a mind of its own, improving and evolving by the second.
Even now, Hiashi could feel that Ryosuke's physical strength had reached a whole new level—but he wanted to hear it straight from the source.
Ryosuke just smiled. "Let me show you."
The moment the words left his mouth, his body vanished from Hiashi's sight.
Without hesitation, Hiashi reactivated his Byakugan—and only then managed to spot Ryosuke dozens of meters away.
"Pure physical speed?" he muttered in disbelief.
What he saw next confirmed the transformation's effect. Without using any chakra, Ryosuke's raw physical speed was on par with what he used to reach only after enhancing himself with chakra.
And then—Ryosuke activated his chakra.
It surged through his system, amplifying his strength, speed, and reflexes. In the blink of an eye, he vanished again.
Hiashi's frown deepened. He poured more chakra into his Byakugan, forcing his vision radius to expand to its absolute limit. Only then was he able to track Ryosuke's movements again.
This meant one thing: the next time they sparred, Hiashi would have to go all out—no holding back. Otherwise, he might lose.
---
Boom—!
A loud crash echoed from within the dense forest.
A towering, centuries-old tree collapsed with a deafening crack. Dust burst into the air as birds scattered and small animals fled the scene. Amid the chaos, Ryosuke reappeared, slowly lowering his slightly numbed shoulder.
This strike had been pure physical force—no chakra, no ninjutsu, just raw muscle.
These weren't fragile saplings—these ancient trees had stood strong for generations. Yet Ryosuke had shattered one like a twig, relying solely on his body.
He rolled his shoulder, stretching it out. The recoil from that impact was no joke.
For the strike, he hadn't used his fists or elbows. Instead, he'd led with a harder, denser skeletal part—shoulder to trunk. A direct hit. No technique, no finesse. Just power.
The result?
Barely a scratch on him. A few marks on the skin, and maybe some numbness in the muscles. But the bones, meridians, and internal structure were solid. Unaffected.
"Speed, strength, endurance… all improved," Ryosuke said, stretching his limbs.
This transformation was on a whole different level from the first one. Back then, only his bloodline and eyes had evolved. But now? His entire body had undergone significant changes.
---
Byakugan Testing
He turned his gaze toward the forest edge, activating his Byakugan.
Through the trees, he spotted Hiashi still observing him.
Their eyes met.
Ryosuke gave him a small nod—and silently mouthed a phrase:
"Please step back."
Hiashi blinked in surprise, then his expression grew serious. He leapt back a full hundred meters and entered a combat-ready stance, unsure of what was coming but ready to respond.
Ryosuke closed his eyes.
BOOM—!
The world erupted.
A shockwave blasted out from Ryosuke's position, flattening everything in a hundred-meter radius. The ground caved inward, trees snapped like toothpicks, and dust filled the air.
Birds, rabbits, insects—everything alive within the area was turned to pulp in an instant.
Hiashi's jaw dropped.
"What… a miracle…" he whispered, eyes wide behind his activated Byakugan.
It had happened too fast for him to analyze. There had been no buildup, no sign in Ryosuke's chakra flow—just a sudden, overwhelming explosion of force.
It reminded him of something ancient—something out of the Hyuga clan's oldest scrolls. This kind of destruction… it hadn't been seen in modern times.
Only Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama, the legends of the past, had wielded power like this.
Hiashi stared at Ryosuke with a mix of awe and excitement.
If the Uchiha and Senju could reach such heights… why not the Hyuga?
In the middle of the destruction, Ryosuke stood still—surrounded by craters, broken trees, and silence.
He looked down at his hands. Despite the massive burst of energy, his chakra reserves hadn't been drained entirely.
This destruction was caused by compressing his perception radius into a dense, focused burst of pressure.
He furrowed his brow.
"I can control the pressure more smoothly now… Could it be—am I really walking the same path as Kaguya Ōtsutsuki?"
The thought unsettled him. He had expected his eyes to evolve—but not this. The transformation didn't just change his body or grant new power. It sharpened his mastery of what he already had.
Both his genjutsu and his coercion techniques flowed more naturally now, as if they'd been refined by years of experience rather than raw transformation.
But the more he thought about it, the less that theory held water.
"No… this has nothing to do with Kaguya."
It couldn't be a coincidence that he just happened to evolve along the same path, using both illusion and pressure techniques.
More likely, the progress bar in his mind wasn't tracking his bloodline at all.
Instead, it might be tied to the abilities he had trained and honed.
Maybe it functioned like a limiter—one that, once maxed out, unlocked the next level of potential.
Whether it was his bloodline, taijutsu, chakra control, or techniques like genjutsu and pressure—he had to master it all himself. The transformation only amplified what he had already earned through sweat and effort.
During his first transformation, he hadn't trained intensely. He'd only focused on his eyes—so he received a bloodline boost and a more Otsutsuki-like Byakugan.
But this time?
He had put in the work.
And now… it was paying off.
