'Well, that was quite the enlightening experience.' I thought with a hum as I walked out of the Kido Corps' archives with my mind now supercharged with numerous spells, from low-level Hado spells to even some high-level Bakudo ones.
I had hoped that they had information on why I was able to manipulate the Reimyaku, but it appears that the information for that is only available to a level far higher than that of the Kido Corps.
'The Shinigami are supposed to be on the same level, which means that the only people above them…are the Central 46.' That thought brought a frown to my face as I continued making my way back to the surface while ignoring the trail of knocked-out souls I had left behind.
I can vaguely remember what the HQ for Central 46 looked like, but unfortunately, I can't remember precisely where it is.
On top of that, Central 46 is also a graveyard right now since Aizen has either killed everyone in it or is about to so going there would be the epitome of stupidity.
That leaves me with one option then: Find Rukia, steal the Hogyoku and get away as fast as I fucking could.
'However, the prison she's locked up in is on the complete opposite side of where I am.' I thought with a frown as I walked up the stairs, coming out from the Kido Corps' HQ only to freeze the moment I made it to the top step.
"Guess that will have to wait." I muttered softly to myself as I stared at the two Shinigami in front of me, a frown adorning their faces as I walked out onto the hill while the door sealed shut behind me.
"Ryoka, by order of the Head Captain, you are to surrender or be destroyed!" The one on the right barked out as he gripped the hilt of his katana, his shoulder-length black hair hanging loosely with a bang over the right side of his face.
"If I surrender, will I still be destroyed?" I asked as I slowly reached into my Kido Corps outfit, firmly grasping the Reishukaku as the other Shinigami gripped the hilt of their katana as well.
"That depends on whether you surrender quickly or slowly." The other one spoke up as I couldn't make out his eyes behind the dark, thick-rimmed glasses he wore, his head covered with a helmet that had four small holes at the front and two lines curving backwards above his eyes.
"Well, my surrender depends on whether or not I'd be killed immediately. If it's that, then I'd rather just fight, but if not, I'd happily go with you guys." I spoke with a shrug as I looked at them and they both frowned as they stared back while a tense silence hanging in the air.
Moments later, I pulled out the Reishukaku and raised my cane right as both of them unsheathed their katanas and rushed forward, Flash Step helping them crossing the distance within the blink of an eye.
However, as they swung their blade, a light blue bubble of energy wrapped around me and stopped their attacks right as I pointed the glowing end of my cane at the man with the helmet.
"Hado #4: Byakurai(Pale Lightning)!" A bright blue flash shot from my cane and the man quickly ducked under it as I dismissed my bubble, quickly creating a sheet of energy behind me that repelled me forward and past their attacks before I spun around while swinging my cane through the air.
"Hado #23: Senbaku(Flash Burst)!" A bright flash of light erupted from the end of my cane and as it disoriented the one with the helmet, I was already charging Reiatsu to my cane once more as I quickly raised it in front of me.
The other quickly appeared in front of me and swung down, my Reiatsu being the only reason why my cane wasn't cut in half as his slash only gave a shallow cut down its middle.
"Bakudo #7: Tenshiho(Heavenly Step Halt)!" I chanted as I pushed him away and leapt back, the Shinigami wanting to follow before his eyes widened as his legs locked up and he fell forward.
"Bakudo #1: Sai(Restrain)!" I continued on with the spells as I locked his arms behind his back, quickly firing a Sho at the Shinigami only to curse as the other one appeared in front of him and blocked the attack.
"Damn, you guys are pretty good, huh?" I spoke with a smirk as I spun my cane, wanting to attack before I stopped myself as I saw them both keeping an eye on me while the one with the helmet helped their fellow Shinigami undo the spell.
"Looks like we can't hold back." The helmet-wearing one spoke and the other one nodded as they both grasped their katanas, the one with black hair running a finger across his katana as the other blew on his.
"Sound with a Blow, Mogaribue (Whistling Winter Wind)!" The one with the helmet whispered as he slowly stopped blowing on his katana, the wind that has been gathering around it dispersing to reveal it now in the shape of a large cleaver that had numerous small holes along the sword's length.
"Drown Out, Katakage (Summer Shade)!" The black-haired Shinigami intoned as he swung his arms out to the side, the blade being unchanged with just two distinct prongs having grown out from the blade's tsuba.
'Okay, so they both have a Shikai? Well, isn't this lovely?' I thought with a frown as I dropped my cane, shaking my head as I needed all my attention focusing on making sure I live to see another day.
"Hado #17: Reppa(Raging Breaker)!" Unlike before, I didn't waste a single moment as I swiped two fingers through the air, flames gathering in front of me before it burst out in the form of a fiery slash.
The one with the black hair leapt back as the one with the helmet rushed forward and I frowned as he swung his blade down, unleashing a chilling mist that also had an eerie howl echoing inside of it as the two attacks clashed.
"Hado #31: Shakkaho!" However, I was quick to unleash another attack right after the first one, the reishi of the air and my own Reiatsu gathering at my palm before I combined the two to shoot a scorching fireball the size of a bowling ball.
The Shinigami swiftly spun around the attack though as the other leapt over him, shadows dripping from his cleaver as he swung down and unleashed a trio of shadowy specters down at me.
"Bakudo #15: Reikyu(Spirit Sphere)!" Fuelling my Reiatsu into the Reishukaku, the energy inside it quickly condensed into a spherical shape around me, but I smirked as the secondary effect of the shield activated the moment the specters crashed into the sphere.
The Shinigami looked surprised to see his attack being completely absorbed by my sphere, my hand coming up and touching the barrier as the Reishukakuglowed.
"Bakudo #14: Meikyo(Clear Mirror)!" The barrier glowed before the other Shinigami appeared in front of the first right as I reflected the specters back at him, watching closely as the Shinigami swung his blade and shot out another wave of freezing mist at the specters.
However, I frowned as I saw the specters drifting far off course before the mist could hit them, looking back at the two Shinigami as they landed with slight frowns.
'The way they just moved my attack to the side…I should have known his ability isn't just being able to make cold mist. No, there's something about that howl the mist echoes in the air that caused them to swerve to the side and I'm going to figure out what.'
"Bakudo #18:Hoshitsu(Capturing Chamber)!" The air around them warped before the two of them were trapped in a golden cube barrier, but I knew that wouldn't enough as the first Shinigami with the black hair quickly sliced through the barrier and rushed forward.
"Bakudo #21: Sekienton(Red Smoke Escape)! Bakudo #20: Kyokko(Bent Light)!" I chanted softly in rapid succession as I stomped on the floor, unleashing a wave of smoke that cascaded in all directions while I also refracted the light around me and hid away.
However, I knew that was not enough and leapt back the moment the Shinigami with the helmet sliced through the smoke, unleashing a burst of icy mist that pushed away the smoke while freezing the floor solid.
"Bakudo #4: Hainawa(Crawling Rope)! Bakudo #4: Hainawa!" I chanted in rapid succession as the air around them crackled, both Shinigami looking surprised as the rope pinned their arms to their body.
"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six. Bakudo #61: Rikujokoro(Six Rods Prison of Light)!" Unlike when I first used it, I didn't exhaust myself completely this time as it only used up a quarter of my Reiryoku.
However, that was enough as I watched six thin, wide beams of light appeared around each of them, the light beams slamming into their midsections and pinning them completely in place despite their struggles as I smirked
Pulling on the Reiryoku of the necklace around my neck, I grinned as the familiar corrosive energy invaded the air, both Shinigami looking surprised as the energy itself dispelled my invisibility right as I pointed a finger at each of them.
"Cero!" With a grunt, twin beams of powerful scarlet red energy shot form my fingers and slammed into both fighters, impacting them both with a devastating explosion that sent them flying off of the cliff and down to the ground.
'Damn, maybe a Cero was too much, huh? …Hah, I really should stop overestimating everyone.' I thought to myself with a shake of my head before I turned and ran towards the forest, wanting to make sure that I was not even close to the scene of the crime.
After all, this place is going to be swarmed within the next few seconds so I needed to get away as fast as possible.

"Damn, it didn't take me long to heal." I whispered as I sat inside a room, the owner of said room knocked out over his table as he had gone to draw his katana right as I dove through the window and knocked them out.
It's been about twelve or so hours since I fought against those Shinigami and after I managed to handle them somewhat without wasting most of my energy, I had retreated to one of the houses where I could hide away until the heat died down.
'I used a #63 and so many other spells and I only used about a third or so of my Reiryoku. I could have also still used the Reimyaku of the Seireitei and the reishi in the air, but I didn't need to as I was still raring to go.'
"Whatever those guys in the Valley of Screams did to me, it…it gave me a tremendous power boost." I muttered out loud as I clenched my fists, my cane resting at my side as I looked back at both the Hollow Reiryoku necklace and the Reishukaku lying on the table.
These two objects are potentially going to be the containers for the Hogyoku, but right now, I needed to figure out precisely just how I'm going to be doing that.
From what I could feel, the Hollow Reiryoku inside the necklace still has three-quarters of a tank left so combining that with my own Reiryoku may help me circumvent the need to possess twice the Reiryokuof a captain.
However, I'm going to need a way to make sure that circumvention happens correctly so if I store the Hogyoku and the necklace container both in the Reishukaku and then fuel my energy in that way, I could potentially make the Reishukaku itself into an all new Hogyoku.
'At least, that's how I hope it goes.' I don't even know if what I said is even possible as for all I know, this entire process could be shit and I could still be erased from existence by the Hogyoku itself because I'm still too weak.
For all I know, these two objects could be erased by the sheer power of the Hogyoku itself and I'd be stuck at step one with nothing to contain it this time.
'Why am I even so obsessed over this thing?…Right, I'd rather it be stuck with me than let Aizen have it.' Even if I can't absorb it into my body, I know that Aizen needs this one to fuse with his own Hogyoku that he sealed away somewhere.
As long as I can make sure that he doesn't fuse them together and turns into the monster that he was at the end of the Arrancar arc, everything will be fine.
"Hah, this is not my day." I muttered as I stood up, placing the necklace around my neck once more and picking up the Reishukaku along with my cane before placing the sphere inside my new Shinigami uniform.
Taking a deep breath, thousands upon thousands of ribbons appeared floating around me, but I quickly sifted through the unnecessary ones while focusing on the few that I have already felt before.
'Those two Shinigami I fought…are already up and around. Guess they are seated officers like I was suspecting. Orihime and Uryu are to the south…Chad to the north-east…Ichigo, Ganju and another which I'm guessing is that Hanataro kid are to the west or south-west…and Yoruichi is completely gone from my senses. Guess she hasn't lost her stealth touch…Now, where is Rukia?' Filtering out every Shinigami's ribbon, I slowly picked through them all for the next couple of minutes before smiling as I finally found hers.
However, as I did, I frowned at how very weak it was compared to when I felt her spiritual energy before, with her Reiryokubeing only about a fifth or so of what it was before.
'That thing really absorbs spiritual energy like a damn leech, but I guess that could be expected since Urahara wanted her to turn into a human.'I thought as I walked out of the room, placing my cane in the hook of my sash before looking to the side right as a Shinigami rounded the corner.
"Hey, man! We need to go!" He shouted as he quickly ran past and I raised an eyebrow before I jogged after him, confused at what the hell was going on.
"Why are we running?"
"The spiritual energy of a hollow was found at the Sokyoku Hill! Not just that, but the 5th and 6th Seats of our Division 3 were found wounded near the bottom of the hill!"
'So they were seated soldiers, huh? Man, this is going to be hard.' I thought with a frown as I slowly trailed behind him, raising a finger as he turned just in time to catch a quick barrage of three Shoblasts to the neck and head.
"This is just great. Well, I guess I have to get out of here now."
"I don't believe you do." A voice spoke from above and I looked up only to sigh at the Shinigami standing on the roof, the man having light brown hair that was braided into a long ponytail while his left hand rested on his katana.
"Well, isn't this lovely? Don't think you can let me go, right?"
"Considering you took out two of our Seated Officers, you and I both know the answer to that question." The Shinigami answered as he dropped down, placing his ponytail behind his back as his dark brown eyes narrowed at me.
"I do, but I don't really want to fight to be honest. I'm just here to get something and then leave."
"Then you can simply surrender and I can take you to the cells?" The Shinigami proposed as he unsheathed his katana and I scratched the back of my head before dropping my cane to the floor.
"I suppose there's only one thing left to do, then?"
"I suppose there is." He muttered as he gripped his katana with both hands and the Reishukaku in my grasp let off a hum as I gathered the reishi of the air along with my own Reiryoku into it.
A tense silence hung in the air as the two of us stared at each other, neither of us daring to move as we waited for the other to make the move first, but as his left foot twitched, he quickly charged forward as I fired my first spell.
"Coil Upwards, Shunjin(Spring Dust)!"
"Hado #4: Byakurai(Pale Lightning)!"
A/N: And the chapter ends off with Don Kanonji finally facing off against a worthy foe~!
Who this foe is, though, we'll have to wait until next week to find out.
Anyway, as you all can see, the Don is now fully a mage-build character having access to numerous spells, but I'm also going to try to have him use his spiritual energy on its own as barriers or make more use of Kan'onballs in his fight.
However, I think I'm also only going to use the Kan'onball and the Cero as like finishing moves while the spells themselves are like his main form of attack.
Like always, you can go to my Pat-reon-.-com-/-KingCrimsonNova to read ahead on this as well as many other stories & even some that haven't been released out to this site yet.
