The call came in the middle of the night.
Yuuto's hands trembled as he held the phone to his ear.
Words like "accident," "unconscious," "bleeding," and "no match found" echoed in his brain.
He barely remembered how he got to the hospital.
Only that Aiden's name was written in red on every screen,
and the smell of antiseptic made his knees weak.
"Are you family?" the nurse asked.
"I'm—yes. I'm his partner."
She nodded, voice soft. "He's in critical condition. We need blood—Type AB-negative. Very rare. We've called multiple donors. Nothing yet."
Yuuto's heart cracked. "Please… please save him."
"We'll do everything we can."
But everything wasn't enough.
Not tonight.
---
Then came the shadow he didn't want to see.
Lucas.
He stepped into the hospital corridor like he owned the building—dark coat, calm face, and a secret burning in his eyes.
"I heard what happened," Lucas said quietly. "I'm… sorry."
Yuuto stared at him, eyes wild, desperate. "Can you help? You're AB-negative, right?"
Lucas nodded slowly. "Yes… I can save him."
Yuuto exhaled in relief—but Lucas didn't move.
"Then what are you waiting for?!"
Lucas's voice turned sharp. "On one condition."
Yuuto froze.
Lucas stepped closer. "Leave him. Walk away. Break his heart tonight—and I'll give him my blood. He'll live."
"You're insane—"
"No, Yuuto. I'm in love."
Yuuto's world collapsed. "You would make me choose like this?"
Lucas's expression was cold. "If you stay, Aiden dies in a few hours. If you leave… he lives another ten years."
Silence.
Pain.
Tears welled in Yuuto's eyes. "You're a monster."
Lucas looked him dead in the eye. "And you're in love with a dying man. Choose."
---
One hour later…
Aiden opened his eyes, weak and pale. The nurse said he was lucky someone came forward in time.
But Yuuto was gone.
No goodbye.
No note.
Only silence.
And Lucas… stood beside the hospital bed, smirking softly.
"Looks like it's just the two of us again, Aiden."
