"The city got taken over just two months ago!?"
"Where've you been, girl? Joining a Raid without knowing anything beyond 'monsters took the city'?"
"Haha, I've been holed up in dungeons all day, every day!"
"You sure you're up for this?"
"Totally! I'm over LV.100, y'know!"
"Whoa, really? Your face, clothes, and gear don't scream that at all!"
"Haha…"
"Whatever, we're just here to clean up after that guy anyway. Deal some damage, and we're good. The guild's got magic tracking damage stats."
"That guy?"
"Girl, what do you know? You're like a walking weebie doll!"
"I-I'm not a weebie doll!!"
"Yo, what're you guys yapping about?"
"Just telling this chick about who Chong is, that's all."
"Chong?"
"Haha, someone doesn't know Chong? Dude's crazy famous!"
"She's a dungeon hermit, man… That's Chong Jin-gu, one of the first in this region to break LV.600. He's a warrior, mage, and some weird 'Shadow User' class that's stupidly OP!"
"Yeah, and he's got some epic AoE magic, too!"
"That's the move he's gonna pull off this round…"
"Eeeek, Sir Chong!"
"Kyaaa, Sir Chong!!!"
"There he goes! He's starting! Let's watch—come on, you too!"
"I'm checking it out. C'mon, weebie doll!"
"Okay… but I'm not a weebie doll!"
A long chat between two gruff-but-kind adventurer guys and a newbie adventurer girl named Fipa—my fourth [F]our + B[ip]e + "la(w) n[a]" = Fipa—a Bipe I spawned completely without consciousness, running on pure instinct, then slapped with a [Trueform] to turn her into a human to sneakily fish for info.
The random body turned out to be a short, bob-haired girl with a flat chest and thicc thighs, looking like a freaking weebie doll! (Why not spawn a human directly? Spawning a person right now would mean crafting a backstory, memories, and consciousness. In a rush like this, that's a hassle. They might stick around too long, and without consciousness, they'd act all floaty and dumb when not controlled. I'm just here to grab info, help a bit, and dip, so this method's easier.)
Some of you are probably like, "Huh? Yo, Keng, why not just copy these people's memories? Way simpler, right?" Sure, it's way simpler, but you've noticed I dodge that a lot, yeah? Especially with guys or women who've probably been with guys… (No, no, I'm not judging, I swear!)
Alright, let's spill the beans on my memory-reading ability after 60 chapters, nice and quick. My head can read thoughts, knowledge, feelings, emotions, desires, and memories.
To get full understanding, I'd pull knowledge and memories… But reading memories means picking a time frame, right? Like copying a video file from a specific day and dumping it into my brain—BAM! If I don't know what I'm looking for or want deep insight, I'd pull a ton, going way back. And guess what happens?
If I read 19 months of these buff dudes' memories, I'd see them "polishing their own swords" for 19 months or other stuff I can't even describe! Using the bathroom, sleeping naked, brah-brah-brah… Disgusting, for real!!
Same with the gals in this group—all high-level. Who knows which ones have been with guys? I'd gag if I pulled memories and saw them on "secret missions" with dudes… (Short-term stuff, like 1-2 hours before death, is bearable. It's like watching a first-person murder flick—skip the emotions, and it doesn't hurt.)
So, unless it's absolutely necessary, I'm not digging into anyone's memories to haunt myself with those images. Asking around gets me enough info anyway…
Whoops, rambled longer than the actual story!
Ahem! From the chat, summing it up: deep in the eastern forests beyond this city—high-to-ultra-dangerous zones—high-level boss monsters and their minions started spawning out of nowhere. They messed up the ultra-dangerous deep forests and backtracked toward the city.
Adventurers who couldn't handle it or found it too tough moved to level up elsewhere, like the south or west, where monster levels are still normal. Higher-level adventurers didn't care enough to come here since no one analyzed the situation properly… The guild tried issuing quests to clear them out, but the deep paths were too dangerous, merchants stopped traveling, and the pay wasn't worth it, so even fewer showed up.
By the time anyone noticed… Hundreds of ultra-dangerous LV.300-500+ monsters from the deep forests chased unnaturally high-to-dangerous LV.100-300 monsters right into the city. With no high-level adventurers or enough numbers in that zone, the city's defenses collapsed… Leading to the monster takeover.
And today, over 1000 adventurers are here to reclaim the city, led by the hero Chong Jin-gu (locals don't call him a hero, I added that flair).
Fipa stares at the hero, who's drop-dead gorgeous like a chiseled model with a sharp jawline… Tall, lean, slightly muscular, in a black shirt and leather pants. He breaks away from the gals—probably his party—and the outer circle of swooning adventurer girls screaming his name… Then leaps high above the city walls, slowly unleashing an awe-inspiring wave of power with black flame sparks.
The thousand-plus adventurers buzz with excitement at this jaw-dropping power. You can feel the massive MP, the sheer spectacle, like a world-stage performance…
…
Wow, that power's insane… And the guy's hot, too. Good thing Fipa's got no emotions like those girls—zero consciousness or memories, so no blushing here!
Flash~!
…
Huh… What's this… This creepy chill down my spine… Why do I feel like something bad is about to happen…? Why… What's going on? Think, dang it! The city's position… The southern city… This city's spot… No… I don't get it… Why's this feeling so bad…?
