[Elara's POV]
I didn't remember standing; I only remember breaking.
Chains snapped like twine beneath my hands.
The altar behind me clapped with a thunderclap as my body moved—no me—it felt as though something else had taken the lead. It was her.
Claws split through my skin. My vision sharpened; bones fixed, fangs ached behind my teeth.
My vision sharpened as, just for that moment, it scanned each part of the room, gazing at the men who urgently made their way in, some with their swords out.
In a blink, I lunged right at the robed figure, who screamed, trying to flee, hoping for an escape, but my claws sank deep, fangs piercing his skin, silencing his groan of pain as I landed heavy attacks on him.
I howled; his blood stained my teeth. I wasn't fully in control, but I let her, allowed her.
They killed them all—Arabella and the rest—I wasn't going to allow any single one of them to escape.
