[Elara's POV]
How I got here—that was a question I still wasn't able to answer. Kieran showing up all of a sudden, the temple crumbling down in flames. Still, I wonder how all this had seemed to occur, only the cold, only the silence.
"The elders," my mind could only ring that they were in on this.
The forest had swallowed us up as we made a run for it. The thoughts hit me that I was ready to die, give up, if he hadn't showed up. But why, why did they do all this? My wolf was free from the seal now, but something felt off about—
We had arrived at a safe house, and Kieran had nearly collapsed at the door, all covered in injuries, as he bled out. Even though he had managed those forced smiles in those moments, I could see through the pain he was feeling, deep. His jaw had clenched, a little groan escaping his lips.
