I took the meat like I was a flash. I took a mouthful bite from the meat, which remained nothing but bone and a little flesh on it. As I chewed on it, it was exactly how I had anticipated it—the taste was heavenly, rich, and mouthwatering.
"You like it?" the voice came again.
'Oh,' that was when I realized that I hadn't thanked the person yet. I raised my head, only to find the little boy I had saved earlier. I smiled nervously at him. 'Damn it, he just watched me eat like a hungry vulture!'
A warm pink hue crept onto my cheeks. "Thank you for the meat, it tastes delicious."
"I'm glad you like it. I can bring you more if you want," he beamed at me.
That was a good offer. Could I refuse such a tempting offer? I closed my eyes, inhaling deeply. "No, you shouldn't. I believe that was your piece you handed to me. And besides, the whole meat must belong to someone."
