The shot just now drained most of Alan's stamina so he just slumped to the ground. He gulped down the instant recovery potions to recover while at it.
Meanwhile everyone just stood there frozen for a while. What did they just witness?. They just had a hard time chipping off 20% of its HP and now it was taken down in one shot.
Although Alan was down after that one shot, he too was surprised at the fact that he could one shot a guardian.
"Alan you alright…?" Peter was concerned.
"Just a small fatigue. It will be over once I rest a bit."
"Alright… I would like to thank you. It would have taken some time if not for you." Peter said.
Saying this he turned his attention towards his teammates.
"Okay listen up. Alan has risked himself to deliver us precious time and energy. So let's deal with the boss before it evolves."
He coordinated a new formation to face the boss. Together with a combined attack of all the damage dealers the boss was interrupted midway through its evolution which put it in a weakened state.
It pounced up from its resting state. It was very enraged. The tier 4 it dreamed about all its life was just a step away from it. But this was interrupted by some insignificant apes that just jumped out of nowhere.
It gave out a loud terrifying roar. The roar resounded throughout the cave and tunnel and even the people at the outpost could hear it faintly.
"What was that sound just now? It came from the direction of the mines."
"Hope everyone is alright…"
The people at the outpost were visibly shaken and worried from the loud roar that came from the direction where the group had ventured into.
The roar had shaken up everyone inside the cave. If it were an ordinary person their eardrums would have burst by now from the roar. But they were not such ordinary people.
The shock from the roar also ignited the fighting spirit everyone had inside them. It's not their first time facing such a foe.
The aura from the boss ignited the atmosphere and raised the temperature. Everyone started to feel the heat. They got into formation according to the leader's instructions and started bombarding the boss.
Alan meanwhile was moved to a safe distance where he could still observe the battle while still being outside the influence of the battle.
Alan used his spirit eyes to observe the battle. He while doing so also found out that the boss also had a reverse scale like its guardian. He also found some noteworthy weak points on the boss which he all relayed to the group leader.
This helped to increase the damage dealt to the boss. Thanks to this things went on smoothly.
Although the boss was in a weakened state it was still a notch stronger than the guardian.
During the battle one of the swordsman dealt a huge gash on one of the weak point. After seeing this Peter coordinated everyone to focus attack on this wound. This further increased the efficiency of the damage dealt.
Within 1 hour the boss was down to its last 30% hp and entered rampage mode.
And within the next 30-40 minutes the boss was finally taken down.
Everyone was exhausted after the fight. Alan got up as he was somewhat recovered from the backlash. His muscles were still sore but it was manageable.
Peter approached Alan "this time the raid went smoothly mainly thanks to you. If not for your timely suggestions we would not have taken it down this effortlessly."
"Don't need to mention it. I just did what I could." Alan replied awkwardly.
"I have sent over the loot through the party interface. Tell me if you are not satisfied."
"Haha… I'm satisfied with this. This is more than enough." Alan replied as he checked his inventory.
The loot gained in this raid was enough to earn him a good chunk of silver. Not to mention the unmined crystals and the rich fire element environment.
They could take some crystals from the mine before handing it over to the guild if they want. So some went to dig out some crystals. The crystals mined and gathered by the minions were included in the loot distribution.
"Can I stay here for a while and increase my fire element mastery?"
"Alright, you can go over to the platform the boss was resting on. It has the best elemental concentration of all places. And besides you don't have to worry about this. The elders have asked me to take care of you so no one here will disturb you if you want to stay here."
"Okay then I would have to trouble the leader…"
Peter made arrangements for Alan to stay here and sent word back to the outpost about the successful raid. He also sent about Alan's achievements to the guild elders channel as instructed. The elders were pleased with Alan's performance.
Alan spent the rest of the day on the platform trying to increase his mastery. His spirit eyes also helped him boost his comprehension speed by a great margin. The efficiency was nearly tripled compared to before.
By the end of the day thanks to the rich fire element environment and his spirit eyes his fire element mastery reached 74%.
It was a known fact that increasing mastery after reaching the law fragment stage slowed down as one progressed. But Alan's progress maintained a consistent speed throughout the process.
