Chapter 54 The Dragon Has Three Heads
It was a spacious hall, and it seemed that a feast was being held. It was a feast of celebration at first, and then it turned into a feast of corpses.
There was no living person in the room, as if everyone at the feast had been brutally slaughtered. The remains of the corpses were lying here and there beside the overturned chairs and the broken high tables. The blood solidified into black puddles on the table and the floor.
Some people had their hands and feet chopped off. On the black oak table, the ownerless palms tightly grasped bloody cups, wooden spoons, roast duck and bread. Some people lost their heads, and their bodies tilted to one side, and their heads rolled on the ground like balls.
There was a wooden throne at the top of the hall, and a terrifying dead man with a wolf's head sat on it. It wore an iron crown on its head. On the oak table in front of it were bread slices, dinner plates, wine glasses, wine jugs, knives and forks, and candlesticks.
Strangely, it held a leg of lamb in its right hand, like a king holding a scepter.
What was creepy was that unlike the dwarf who ignored her before, the werewolf's eyes followed Dany closely, with a complicated expression, as if making a silent accusation.
"Red Wedding!" Dany instantly understood what this scene meant.
Dany was very excited. For the first time, she was sure that she saw the future.
The Red Wedding would not happen for another year or two, but she saw the ending now.
"You deserve it!" She shouted to Robb and turned to the next room.
What Dany didn't know was that early the next morning, Robb Stark, who had just completed the great victory in the Whispering Wood, was awakened by a nightmare.
"Mother, I dreamed of someone last night." He said to Catelyn with confusion at breakfast.
Her son had just captured Jaime Lannister, and the Duchess was in a good mood. She asked softly, "Who did you dream of?"
"A strange girl."
"Strange?"
"She was wearing a very beautiful and strange dress (cheongsam), carrying a bamboo basket, and there was a black dragon in the bamboo basket." The young wolf lord asked puzzledly.
"Dragons have been extinct for more than a hundred years." Catelyn said.
"That woman is not much older than me, with silver hair, violet eyes, and looks very much like a..." Robb himself was very unsure, "Targaryen!"
"Targaryen girls of this age do exist." Catelyn's face became serious, "Daenerys Targaryen, the daughter of the Mad King. I heard that she married the Dothraki Horse King a year ago. Have you seen her face clearly, what does she look like?"
"Very beautiful, more beautiful than... Sansa, more delicate than Cersei Lannister, and more energetic." he said.
"Then it really could be her. Everyone in the Targaryen family has a stunning appearance." Catelyn nodded and asked, "Why did you dream about her? Could it be... That's not right. Even if you are older and begin to admire girls, she... You haven't seen her."
"I don't know, but last night's dream made me feel terrified that I was in the seven levels of hell." Robb's eyes flashed, and he said thoughtfully, "If I defeat the Lannisters, and Baratheon does not allow the North and the Riverlands to be independent - after all, the two places together occupy most of Westeros.
I might fight Baratheon again. If I win again... If Aunt Lysa of the Arryn Valley sends troops to help me, she is most afraid of the Lannisters, not Baratheon, so this possibility is very high."
"You have joined forces with the lords of the three kingdoms of the North, the Riverlands, and the Vale of Arryn. You defeated Baratheon, and then you took control of the Iron Throne, and eventually replaced the dead Robert, and you will become Daenerys Targaryen's greatest enemy." Catelyn followed her son's train of thought and continued, "If she really has dragons, or means similar to dragons, such as a hundred thousand Dothraki roaring warriors, you are probably not her opponent.
And she is the daughter of the Mad King, so it is not surprising that she inherited his crazy genes.
If you are defeated by such a crazy and vengeful Targaryen, you are finished, and our North is completely finished. Such an ending is more terrible than going to the seven hells."
"Did she say anything to you?" Catelyn became nervous.
"'You deserve it,' she said to me coldly, 'You deserve it.'" Robb's face turned pale.
"Ah! That must be right." Catelyn exclaimed, "It must be your father who just died, giving you a revelation through a dream, warning you to be careful of the last Targaryen princess."
"Robb, do you want the Iron Throne?" She looked directly into her son's eyes and asked nervously.
"I just want to avenge my father and make the North independent." Robb said immediately.
"But your dream, your future," Catelyn said worriedly.
"Alas, I really don't want to dominate the world, and I have no desire for the Iron Throne of King's Landing. Why, why do you force me, I don't want to be the king of the Seven Kingdoms!" Robb cried sadly.
Time returned to the present, and the sight returned to Dany.
When the big black used his tail to pull open the third door, Dany saw a familiar and unfamiliar picture. It was a house with a red painted door. Lifelike animal faces were carved on the huge wooden beams, and there was a lemon tree outside the window.
That was Dany's home in Braavos before she was five years old.
On the eve of Daenerys' birth, the dynasty had changed its surname from Targaryen to Baratheon. Only the Dragonstone Island located overseas was still occupied by the fleet loyal to Targaryen.
But on the night when Daenerys was born, not only did her mother, Queen Rhaella, die in childbirth, but there was also a terrible storm that was rare in a thousand years in the waters near Dragonstone. The warships anchored in the bay were not defeated by the enemy, but were all destroyed in the storm.
Therefore, Dany was called "Stormborn".
The death of the queen completely collapsed the Targaryen regime, and the remaining Viserys was just a child. The storm destroyed all the warships supporting the Targaryen dynasty, and made Dragonstone no longer safe.
Fortunately, the huge storm not only destroyed its own fleet, but also the Baratheon warships that besieged Dragonstone were completely lost, giving them a chance to escape.
When the acting lord of Dragonstone was hesitating whether to offer the two children of the Targaryen family to the rebels, Sir William Darry and his four men took Viserys and Daenerys to escape safely to Braavos.
Sir William was the royal coach, a gray-haired, half-blind old man. Under his care, little Dany had the happiest five years of childhood.
Then the old knight died, and Dany and Viserys were tricked by the servants into leaving the house, and began a life of wandering for 100,000 miles.
In the memory of Daenerys, the house with the red painted door became the most beautiful place, and she could not forget it for a long time.
At this moment, the scene deep in her memory reappeared in front of her eyes, and even old Sir William walked out with a cane and heavy steps.
"Little princess, you are back!" His voice was hoarse and kind, "Come here, come to me, my lady, you are home and safe."
He stretched out his wrinkled big hand to her, as soft as old leather.
"This illusion is too real!" Dany looked around with a sound of admiration.
"Come here, my little princess, what are you talking about, what illusion?" The old man was still waving at her.
Can it also have an intelligent conversation?
This seemed to have entered the uncanny valley stage. Dany was frightened and turned around and ran.
The corridor stretched forward and stretched forward. There were endless doors on the left and only torches on the right.
Dany didn't know how many doors she ran past. Some were closed and some were open. There were wooden doors and iron doors. Some were finely carved, while others were ordinary. Some had handles, while others had locks or knockers.
At least they were still doors, until she caught a glimpse of a door that could hardly be considered a door.
Dany stopped like she was braking. It was a simple hard cowhide curtain.
She had a strong impulse in her heart. It seemed that the main purpose of entering the Immortal Palace was not to find the immortals, but to enter this door.
The big black tail was like a hook, lifting the leather curtain.
Then Dany saw an endless grassland, the Dothraki Sea.
A river meandered in the grassland, and a pale tall horse, carrying two children, walked along the river.
The horse had its back to Dany, so she couldn't see the horse's head, and couldn't see the face of the person on the saddle. She could only vaguely see the child sitting in front lying on the horse's neck, and the little girl behind, with silver hair and a painted vest, crying non-stop, her cry weak and full of pain.
It was not until the horse went farther and farther away and completely disappeared from Dany's sight that she came to her senses.
"Is this a thing of the past? Daenerys and Viserys? When they were young, the girl didn't wear a Dothraki painted vest." She was puzzled. Subconsciously, she felt that this matter was very important, but she couldn't guess what it meant.
"Hiss--"
Big Black put down the cowhide curtain and screamed sharply, reminding Dany to keep going.
So she silently remembered what she had just seen in her heart and walked to the next room.
A pair of huge bronze doors opened automatically to both sides after Dany came over. Inside the door was a magnificent stone hall. Many dead dragon heads were hung on the high walls on both sides, looking down coldly.
In front of him, an old man in gorgeous clothes sat on a tall and thorny throne, with dim eyes and silver-gray hair.
"Let me reign over charred bones and roasted flesh," he said to a man below, "let me be the King of Ashes!"
"King's Landing, the Red Keep, the Iron Throne, the Mad King Aerys?" Dany understood all of a sudden, so she stopped and continued to watch.
"Your Majesty, have you really made a decision?" The man in the robes of the pyromancer under the throne looked fanatical.
"I am a real dragon, and I will be reborn in the flames." The Mad King on the Iron Throne waved his arms excitedly, "Immediately bury wildfire in all parts of King's Landing, and don't miss a single place. I will be crowned king again in ashes and bones!"
"Oh my god! This madman!"
Hearing the Mad King and the Pyromancer Prime Minister discussing how to burn 500,000 people in King's Landing to death at once, Dany felt cold all over her body, and goose bumps appeared on her bare arms.
Leaving the bronze door, Dany encountered another door that opened automatically because of her arrival.
Behind the gorgeous wooden door inlaid with red copper nails was a bedroom.
The prince, who looked almost exactly like Viserys, said to the woman who was breastfeeding the newborn baby on the big wooden bed, "Let's call him Aegon. Isn't that the best name for a king?"
Dany understood immediately. She saw the scene that happened in the Red Keep in the past again, Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia.
The newborn in the Crown Princess's arms, Aegon, was the little prince who was thrown against the wall like a melon and killed.
Princess Elia asked her husband, "Will you write a song for him?"
"He already has a song." Rhaegar said solemnly, "He is the prince in the prophecy, and his song is a song of ice and fire."
As he spoke, he raised his head and his eyes met Dany's, as if time and space had moved and they came to the same time period.
"There is another one." He said, Dany was horrified, always feeling that this cheap big brother was talking to her, "The dragon has three heads, and there is another one."
"Mother Falck!" Dany's face turned pale, she cursed, turned around and ran.
She was completely sure that Rhaegar, who had been dead for 15 years, was talking to her. He told her that three dragons require three riders, and besides herself and Aegon, there is another Targaryen?
But Aegon died a long time ago, and she is the only one left in the Targaryen family, and the male protagonist Jon Snow, who is also a Targaryen.
