"I guess we will have to find out what it is when we get to that village," Jake said. He looked at the body of the man on the ground and walked to it.
"Hmm, I guess I should try this one on him first. I have a few slots since I leveled up," Jake said. He pointed at the body. "Use Rise on him."
Immediately, a magical circle formed underneath the body, and it sank into the ground. After a few seconds, the man came out of the ground. His armor was still on his body, only this time it had turned into a dark purple color with green trims.
He came out of the portal on one knee, his head bowed.
"Greetings, Master," he said and looked up. His dark green glowing eyes shined through.
[Congratulations, you have Risen an Undead Knight.]
The system gave him a notification.
"Undead Knight, huh? I like that," Jake said. He looked at the knight for a bit, and then a thought came into his head—he realized he hadn't asked something very important.
"System, how do I keep all the summons out? I felt it had something to do with my mana, but I haven't felt like there was any mana leaving me, even when Drake was out."
[That's simple. Your brain should be able to figure that out, but I guess you can't. Summons like Drake and this knight have their own mana source—they are advanced enough, and so they don't need you to provide. The only thing they need from you is activating mana.
The mana you give is to make the circle for their summoning, and that isn't too much. The only summons that actually take from your mana constantly are your skeletons. Those ones lack their own core.]
"I see, that explains it then," Jake said and walked toward the knight. He placed his hand on his helmet.
"Welcome to the team. I'll be calling you, uhm, Crypt," Jake said.
"I will do my best to carry the name that you have given me, Master," Crypt said.
"Alright then, let's get moving. Someone might have heard all the havoc that happened here," Jake said and started walking away. He unsummoned Drake.
"System, show me Crypt's stats. I need to see what he is capable of."

"Damn, this is crazy. How can one human be this strong?" Jake asked.
If there were humans as strong as this, then he had to be cautious.
He walked up to the woman who was passed out on the floor. He checked on her, and she was still breathing. As he was checking on her, he spotted the same tattoo that she had on his hand as well.
'Should I stay till she wakes up and ask her? No, I can't be sure she won't attack me. I have no idea why the two of them were fighting, but I have a feeling this tattoo has something to do with it,' he thought.
Still, he felt bad leaving her lying down like this, so he raised her up and leaned her against a tree. He made sure that she was sitting properly and started walking away.
[You aren't going to help her?]
"Hmm? I don't think that's necessary. She is quite strong; I'm sure she will survive," Jake said.
[We can gather some information from her. Or you didn't think about that?]
"Well, I did, but I felt like she might attack me or something," Jake said.
[And if she did? She could barely take on Crypt, and now he belongs to you, along with Drake. There is no way she can pose a threat.]
"I know all that, but I don't know why—I just feel like staying with her might be more trouble than it's worth," Jake said.
[Whatever you say. Let's just get out of here already.]
Unknown to Jake, the lady had already woken up. She quietly watched him talk to himself. Jake began walking away, heading for the village with Crypt following behind.
She watched him go. She felt like saying something, but she wasn't sure how he would react to her. She didn't have the strength to fight now.
'Who was he? He seemed young, yet there was a powerful aura around him. And that warrior with him—he looked like that man. It can't be, right? The armor looks different, but it seems like that man. I have to find out for myself,' she thought.
[.....]
Jake walked through the forest without any issues. Because of the presence of Crypt, all the beasts that were around avoided Jake.
He walked through the forest without any issues until he finally made it out. He stepped into the setting sunlight.
"I should stay at the outskirts for tonight and head into the village tomorrow," he said. He looked at the forest; it was surrounded by a wooden wall.
He sat by a tree and looked at the village for a while. The sun slowly set as the hours flew by. When the night had fully come and the veil of darkness covered everywhere, Jake decided to sleep, leaving Crypt to stand guard while he slept.
