The moment the marriage vows were sealed, Hell itself seemed to quiver with something I couldn't place.
A chorus of whispers slithered through the obsidian halls, hissing like steam from a cauldron left too long on the flame. Shadows peeled themselves from the walls, taking shape,sinuous, grinning forms that circled us with predatory glee.
The Sins had come to greet their new Queen.
Pride came first , his golden mask gleaming as he looked me up and down. "A bold choice, my Lord. Though I question the taste. She's rather… plain for a Queen of Hell."
Lucifer's grip on my waist tightened possessively. "Careful," he murmured, but there was amusement in his voice.
Careful with her my Lord, she looks breakable, remember she's human she's not built for animal rutting, said lust , blood shot to my cheeks at his statement , my heart beat loud enough to be heard.
Gluttony waddled forth, licking his lips."Will there be a feast? A wedding banquet? Oh! Let me prepare the meats—the tender ones—"
Wrath kicked him aside with a snarl. "Fool. The only meat that matters tonight is—"
"Enough." Lucifer's voice cracked like a whip, and the Sins fell silent—though their grins remained.
Sloth, draped over a crumbling pillar, yawned.
"Just get on with it. Some of us would like to nap through the inevitable screaming."
Greed chuckled, counting a pile of blackened coins. "I'll wager she doesn't last till dawn."
Envy, a skeletal wraith with hollow eyes, hissed. "Lucky thing.To have him all to yourself."
The air grew thick with their taunts, their laughter, their hunger. I stood frozen, my pulse roaring in my ears.
Then Lucifer leaned down, his lips brushing the shell of my ear. "Pay them no mind, wife. They're just… excited."
A shudder ran through me.
With a wave of his hand, the Sins dissolved into smoke, their cackles echoing behind us as Lucifer led me away—down the winding corridors of Hell, toward the waiting bridal chamber.
And the consummation they were all so eager to witness.
